Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I think this is incredibly true, Fagan is an obvious success story, but David Noble was an absolute disaster. I can see why we'd want him to be part of the process and his experience added some sort of appeal but i think the AFL world at times gets sucked in a little bit to what's trendy, Fagan had done ALOT of coaching even before his role at the Hawks so it wasn't foreign to him at all.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I'll put my hand up to manage Tracs socials if i get to eat the food he makes! i had to unfollow him because i was getting too hungry and wanting to make it most days!

Trade Targets
Langford would be the clear number 1 pick in this current draft, and Lindsay would very likely be top 3-4. the trade ultimately was win-win for us, Lindsay is highly skilled, a great young leader and person and his first year was a little bit interupted with a serious pre-season injury. i'm really excited to see his 2026 after his first full pre-season, i agree i think he can be at least as good as Langford, he's got so many great assets and he's already shows he's comfortable at the AFL level

Farewell Charlie Spargo
I do think Spargo has really high footy IQ and io can see why he'd appeal elsewhere, it's hard to make these decisions without a coach though, of our final 6 prospects, how many of them rate Charlie and would want him to stay and how many would be happy with a compensation pick and money off the books?

Farewell Judd McVee
While i am not doubting the posters who are saying he's signed, perhaps he has, i've got no idea. I don't really understand why we would make such a song and dance about saying we announced Goody sacking as soon as it happened because that's the right thing to do and then re-sign Judd and wait to announce it. if that's happened it's a very odd inconsistency by the clubs decision making.

Farewell Charlie Spargo
Charlie Spargo and pick 23 for Zane Duursma sounds okay. North wouldn't let him go cheeply, but JT rates him extremely highly, he's got connections with the MFC and he clearly wants a better situation for himself. apologies i didn't realise he was a free agent. perhaps insert name here instead. maybe Steven May might appeal to North?

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I don't think you can measure defense in statistics. they've been unable to consistently compete with the tops sides despite having an offensive setup essentially all of the other 17 clubs would take given the chance. good teams close down the game, don't give them time and space and force the game into an arm wrestle which exposes their lack of defensive "finals like" habits. look at the 2021 grand final. when they game stopped going entirely their own way they couldn't even give a yelp. like us, nothing much has changed structurally for them since 2021.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
The dogs entire problem in my opinion is while they have a very good coach, they have the wrong coach. i think under Simon Goodwin they'd be a consistent top 4 team because the ball movement goody wanted would have worked a whole lot better with Naughton, Darcy, English and so on and then a proper defensive structure they'd be really really hard to beat. Defense is still the king of championships in all team sports, you can't only focus on defense and be successful, but if you ignore it, any success you do achieve would be an unsustainable fluke, hence 2016

The Greatest Demon of All Time?
Max Gawn doesn't need to maintain his current form for very much longer to not only be the greatest demon ever but to be firmly in the conversation for the greatest player ever full stop.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
My vibe. Which is based on nothing but my own reading because I have no clear intel and wanna stress that upfront is that we haven’t got a firm yes from Nathan Buckley and it’ll be him if/when that comes We’re running a process in case he says no and our senior coach in 2026 will be one of Nathan Buckley, Corey Enright or Danny Daly
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I mean he’s a 4 x premiership player with 319 games played so I’d say he’s probably already more qualified than a lot of people who are or will become assistants in the next few years. I think he’d be a great person to get involved if he wants to be

Cam Bruce to Melbourne?
See I wonder that too but then I think. If we could announce bucks tomorrow I don’t see why we would waste our time running a fake process which erodes trust in the industry. My guess is we think it’ll be bucks and we hope it is but we haven’t got a firm enough yes yet. Which does make some of our other decisions odd
-
Cam Bruce to Melbourne?
While I’d be absolutely thrilled to have cam Bruce I do find it really strange we’d be trying to attract assistant coaches when we don’t even have a senior coach and presumably they’d want to bring their own team
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Keep an eye out for the article saying Kane Cornes is a secretly Gifted coach from channel 7. Maybe we can get Caro in to head up our development and TJ running the fitness dept
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
If it’s not bucks, which I think it will be Danny Daly as senior coach and cam Bruce as senior assistant would be a pretty strong second choice. raid the Brisbane lions

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
My guess would be Buckley hinkley Skipworth Enright King Daly would be the 6 the panel will explore fully

Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
for what it’s worth I think mark williams would be absolutely brilliant in the player welfare space and a real Asset for the club to keep in that capacity.

Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
I love when people respond like a smart Alec while missing the point entirely. I’m saying we are patting him on the back for speaking well, because we are so used to either BS or silence. Of course that’s his job and what he’ll be judged on…. I’ve never seen a professional in any industry receive more applause for simply being able to speak like a human being besides maybe some politicians?
- Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford
-
Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
I’m going to sound overly negative here. But… While I think Paul guerra spoke well and hats off to him for that, we are setting the bar pretty low because Gary Pert talked in circles about best culture in 40 years when we all knew that was silly, and now the interim CEO is essentially silent publicly. just having a CEO that actually speaks and sounds genuine and isn’t making huge claims about our culture seems to be the bar we’ve landed on, when in reality his success will be, getting Caulfield announced in the next 12 months, a good decision on the next coach, and stability over a 3-5 year period with increasing profits, membership and crowd attendance being another huge thing to figure out. I’m hopeful he’s up for the job but I see a lot of patting him on the back for just speaking like a human being rather than a used car salesman

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
How could you not want to coach Harvey Langford! The kid is a superstar

Mitch McGovern
Steven mays worst AFL season is still Comfortably better than anything Mitch McGovern has ever produced. If we were going to recruit him, the only potential would be as a short term sugar hit up forward and I wouldn’t even do that
-
Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I laughed out loud about his article Mentioning trac “ my gut feel is petracca will either stay or go to a club like hawthorn” which is of course about as insightful as “I’m pretty confident Melbourne will hire Nathan Buckley, or someone else as a senior coach for next year”

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Geelong will open their bottomless pit salary cap up and sign him and clarry

Choco Williams axed
I think Jared rivers was an assistant under bucks?
