NON-MFC: Round 12, 2022
Tonights game will tell us a lot about where the Dogs are in 2022, if they beat the Cats i think it's fair to consider them a finals threat, if they don't maybe not

Farewell Sam Weideman
The painful thing is you can't even leave Weid in the side to see if he will build confidence because he just seems to get outmarked entirely too often. I rate Weid on talent but he's just not doing enough at AFL level at this stage, i suspect by the end of the season Rooey could have overtaken him as well.

Sydney Appealing Buddy Ban
Hahahaha what world do you live in? the AFL makes no secret about the fact they only care about money. there is a huge Tribunal bias towards star players compared to lesser known.. what do you think the difference is if not bums on seats?
-
Sydney Appealing Buddy Ban
Let me make it simple for you, all the AFL cares about is $$$$$$ and their integrity is 000000 a top of the table clash between Melbourne and Sydney makes them more $$$$$ if as many of the best players possible, are playing. the integrity of the incident and what the punishment should be, do no matter to the AFL.

Premiership Coach Simon Goodwin extends until 2024
Did Gary Pert run over your cat? I'd say his performance as CEO and the state the club is in, and the direction for the future is fairly self evident to anyone that isn't harboring some sort of deep personal bias against him.

Sydney Appealing Buddy Ban
Massive chance he gets off. the AFL would want Buddy playing in a blockbuster Sydney vs Melbourne game. he will be playing.

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
What i found interesting was Petracca wasn't right, Sparrow was struggling, getting smacked out of the middle but we didn't try Brayshaw in there at all really speaks to the value placed on the role he's playing down back. In terms of the game more broadly, and injured May and Petty makes things hard. we've never been a dominant 4 quarter team, our strengths have been defending opposition momentum and capitalising on our own. with those injuries our ability to restrict the dockers momentum was almost zero. Hats off to the dockers for being able to expose it, but at the same time we should be very confident of making it 1 all when we play them in round 20

CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Sydney
Do we have any info on if Petty is likely to get up and play? assuming Petty is just a bit sore i'd go with Out: May, Melksham, Weideman, Bedford, Dunstan In: Tommlinson, McDonald, Langdon, Harmes, Salem Potentially Trent Rivers becomes the Sub?

Farewell Luke Jackson
well not him then, but i reckon a couple of picks and a good young player would be good.
-
Farewell Luke Jackson
There is so much talk about Jackson to West Coast if he did leave, personally i think he'd most likely be wanting to go to Fremantle. i think he'd want to be at a winning team and see the possibility of a Jackson/Darcy combo as having the Gawn/Jackson potential. I'm not sure what a trade would look like if he did make a request to go to Fremantle but i think personally i'd like to see us ask for as many high end picks as possible, continue building the pool of talent and really set ourselves to be competing for as long as possible. Maybe Hayden Young, and their next 2 first rounders which would likely be around pick 15 ish

Farewell Luke Jackson
I was thinking today if we had to lose one o Jackson or Brayshaw i'd nearly rather lose Jackson, as talented as he is Brayshaw has become a legitimate star and so important to our culture.

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
I am not in the least bit worried about this loss in the broader context of our season, in fact i think it has distinct potential to be quite positive for us. we haven't been playing that well the last few weeks IMO and had been lucky to be playing Methcoast and Norf but a real team showed us up. Petracca is clearly injured, losing May really unsettled us, i think we had the players to cover but we just didn't adjust well enough, the fact Petty is also seemingly injured didn't help. but we just got smashed out of the middle, honestly when we are going like that i'd rather see Trac in there, even if he's not 100% the Freo players will need to be consious of him and that could have allowed Oliver and Viney a bit more room to move

Farewell Luke Jackson
Geez this is an ordinary take, anyone would think you're an undercover port supporter with this kind of uneducated, irrational rubbish, honestly i hope it's chemically induced because if these are genuinely your thoughts you may be beyond help.

Blues the Dee-stroyers?
I would agree, but i also think if we play our best, Brisbane won't be good enough to beat us.
-
Blues the Dee-stroyers?
Also worth noting it was a practice match where 4 or 5 of our premiership backline was missing, the players have mentioned repeatedly that it was a wake up call for them, i suspect if we were playing Carlton this saturday it'd be similar to the Saints game and we'd really set ourselves to make a statement.
-
Blues the Dee-stroyers?
This is the important thing, they'll have to consistently outmark May, Petty, Lever, Gawn to be able to kick a winning score with their one wood. but i look at our side and outside weitering, i don't see much capacity to stop our forwards. guys like Docherty and Williams would have to play much more accountable on guys like Fritsch and Kozzie and that limits their ability to really run and create plus they might be able to guard Brown or McDonald but the other will surely bob up, and the resting ruckman down there becomes a huge worry for them
-
Blues the Dee-stroyers?
I agree that Carlton at their best are probably the biggest threat we have. i don't think the Lions style stands up in big finals, Dockers aren't there yet and Swans are inconsistent. In saying that i am coming to terms with the fact we are just comfortably the best side in it, the same commentators thought the Saints had us ripe for the picking, and in a half of football we entered beast mode, sat them on their backsides and went back into cruise control.

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
Out: Langdon, Melksham In: Salem, Viney,
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs North Melbourne
Essendon supporters aren't smart people in my experience, they'll have centrelink payments to blow on the pokies well before the game starts.
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs North Melbourne
How good does the Indigenous kit look? definitely my favourite one so far!
-
What They Are Saying at Arden Street
Considering North have approx 7 fans total, i doubt they're saying much. seriously why they don't pack up and move to Tassie is beyond me
-
Dustin Martin may be going to Sydney
Hard to read what Dimma has said and not think Dusty leaving or retiring is a MASSIVE possibility, if not certain
-
Jack Viney 2022 form
I did post that before looking at the scores and noticed CP had a shocker in the NBA playoffs so i regret the comparison, but i think it's valid in terms of influence that isn't necessarily picked up by stats
-
ANB on SEN
Geez he's an impressive individual. you've gotta take your hat off to the recruiting staff, listening to him speak he sounds like a born leader.
-
Jack Viney 2022 form
He's our Chris Paul, i know that's a strange comparison given different sports but CP doesn't always have massive stats but his influence on the game in terms of leadership, setting the tone and team first defensive actions is as good as anyone in the comp. He's just the heart and soul of the team, i look at Essendon atm and wouldn't they love a bloke to have 20 touches, 12 tackles and bring that level of intensity and care. I spoke to a current Melbourne player randomly a couple of weeks back and he just said when you've got guys like Steven May, Jack Viney, Max Gawn and Clayton Oliver out their having your back, it makes the game so much easier.
