  1. I honestly think our new draftee at pick 70 odd is a real chance to play a few games this year, he's got a real presence and aggression about him, and if he goes into the ruck JVR can stay forward as well.
  2. If Petracca did decide he wanted out at years end, you couldn't be more certain of anything other than the MFC will be making an enormous offer to Harley Reid and sending the picks from a Trac trade to the WCE to get it done.
  3. The obvious ones are Clarry, Trac and Kozzie. Ideally we'd love to keep all three long term, but if we can't, it's in our best interests for all 3 to have massive years, help us win a flag and then put their trade currency at an absolute premium either way From the lesser known players, we really need Van Rooyen to take a big step and become a premier power forward in the league, Jefferson to push into the team and play a big role and guys like Sparrow, Chandler, Howes, Spargo to go from being role players to the next level up in their respective roles.
  4. Love a key forward who scares the living daylights out of opposition teams without even having to touch the ball!
  5. Langford looks so good! outside of an injury, i can't see any way he's not playing regular footy next year.
  6. Kane Cornes, this is why you sign your gun players up long term, because when players are contracted, they get over whatever is bothering them, work through it and come back looking as good as Trac did today.
  7. 10:Langford 19: Lindsay 20: Sharp
  8. Could not be more thrilled with the outcome, we've just picked up 2 absolute stars, consistent players, classy left foot kicks and both great character and leadership. Well done MFC
  9. Late bolter for pick 67 is Blangus Blayshaw, in case the AFL medical people ask, absolutely no relation to Gus.
  10. you've been on fire lately mate! love it!
  11. Was just thinking, Bo Allen has a fair bit of Jordan Dawson in the way he plays.
  12. Our inside 50 connection is going to get a lot better with two beautiful left foot kicks coming in.
  13. Cal said that Lindsay vs Allen is a 50/50 call we will make at pick 9 and he made a point of saying his prediction might well change with his late mail.
  14. I think we've essentially got the development plan for Bo Allen already organised which is essentially to do what Trent Rivers has done, be a strong intercepting half back early and slowly transition into the midfield as he builds his fitness base. I really like that all of the guys we're linked to are considered leaders, Langford is a co captain of his team, Bo Allen i believe captained W.A? just what we need when we've had some question marks on our culture, get some natural leaders in
  15. In fairness, i think there is a very real chance that Tauru slides to our pick 9 as well, Bo Allen seems to be coming with a bullet.
  16. I didn't say it saw a ploy, i have no doubt our interest is genuine, but i think we clearly like others more, and making it clear to North Tauru doesn't get past 5 does help to nudge them in that direction. I don't blame them if they take FOS instead, it just narrows the field for us, those of us, like me who would prefer Langford or Smith just have to hope the Crows or Carlton choose Draper.
  17. Of course it matters what we say, we've sent a clear message to North that if they want Tauru, they need to take him before pick 5. If they do this, we get what we want which is one of the premium midfielders sliding to our pick. This is no guarantee, but it makes plenty of sense. If they slide down to pick 7 or 8 for example, and think Tauru gets past us, whoever gets that pick off North almost certainly takes one of those mids and we miss out again. The most reliable path for the MFC to get one of these gun mids is for North to take Tauru at pick 2
  18. It's possibly a few games being played as well, I personally think we've sent North a message that we're going to take Tauru, potentially so they don't slide down and we end up getting someone like Smith or Langford sliding to us.
  19. Every Carlton fan i've spoken to is absolutely convinced they're going to take Sid Draper at pick 3 regardless of who else is available, it may be media hype and what not, but they're not buying the Jagga Smith talk at all.
  20. The flow on effect seems to be that if North go FOS rather than Tauru we will get Tauru, if North go Tauru, or slide down in their picks, we'll likely get a choice between Langford and Smith.
  21. This seems to be the thing, unless there is a last minute trade from Richmond for pick 2. I still would be really shocked if the Crows passed on Sid Draper, a home grown talent like that should be incredibly difficult to pass up unless there are some serious underlying red flags
  22. That's where i am at as well, potentially if Tauru is a forward and Petty goes back to defense it sort of looks okay, but i just can't wrap my head around passing on Sid Draper. Obviously JT is the expert and i didn't really love the Windsor selection pre draft last year either.
  23. Any chance we see him as a key forward?
  24. Looking more and more like the Blues will take Draper, and the Crom will choose Langford or Smith leaving us with one of Smith, Tauru or O'Sullivan at pick 5.
