  1. I wonder if to get rid of the salary cap pressures the power would be willing to entertain young master Wines moving to the Dees in exchange for a couple of good picks, maybe picks 5 and 23 for Wines and a later pick
  2. Id be pretty stoked with jed anderson if we could shake him loose
  3. Neeldy should put his hand up for the role
  4. I reckon macca has a gentlemans agreement to mentor goody and damo is just stirring rubbish to be honest. Some people at richmomd i know seem to think blake carrecella is a huge chance given his coachimg credentials and link to the club as a player
  5. Why not just trade hogan, brayshaw and viney as well
  6. Essendon wanted wines or wingard and a first rounder for ryder... They will demand hogan, brayshaw or mcdonald
  7. I think Freo win the flag from here, I really like the Eagles but I think beating Freo in a Grand final vs beating them in season when they were miles infront on top of the ladder will prove to be two totally different things.
  8. Our chasing Bennell was always going to be conditional on A. what the actual risks were with this situation. B. How much we'd have to give up to get him to the MFC. No doubt the suns would want more than just our first rounder for him, clearly that's a risk the club would need to seriously consider before making. Having said that i'm still of the opinion that Dion Prestia is still very much a target and one i'd much rather bring in then Bennell, both would be nice though.
  9. I think the best thing for both parties is a change, Jack has attributes that would make him a weapon at a more successful club with a fast outside game style like the dogs or Hawks.
  10. If someone will take him, trade for what we can get, might be a tempting steak knive in a deal for a good mid
  11. I remember chatting to Macca at Pre season training during a match simulation drill ( Macca was kinda just introducing himself to supporters and shouting the odd comment to the players) and Salem did one of those we've through 5 blokes and hit Hogan lace out things he does and Macca just said " keep an eye on this kid, he's a beauty " sums it up pretty well.
  12. There recruiting has been worse than ours besides a couple of exceptions. ( Cripps, Docherty, Menzel )
  13. My locks for 2015 ????????? Tom Mcdonald Lynden Dunn Nev Jetta ??????????? Christian Salem ????????? Jack Viney Bernie Vince Christian Petracca Jesse Hogan Angus Brayshaw Jeff Garlett ????????? Dean Kent Max Gawn Nathan Jones ??????? Dom Tyson Harry Lumumba Billy Stretch Alex neil-bullen With the new interchange rules there will be a far greater reliance on endurance players than ever, the amount of explosive players that a team can carry will take a hit so guys like Kent may find themselves competing with someone like Garlett for a spot in the team
  14. Honest opinions on Toump. The kid has the talent, training standards and application to be a quality AFL player, but not the one we recruited. Since being recruited the drop off in leg speed has been shocking, this kid was genuinely at u/18 level I don't buy into the idea that Jimmy is scared of the contest, more that he is scared of failure, relies on his confidence being high to play well and takes his performance and failures very personally. the game against the Saints showed that Jimmy has some amazing qualities and class when he's up and going but it can't be 1 or 2 games a year at this stage of his development, he needs to start making strides. I want to see the Toump hit his break and pre season with one clear focus, " do not put the protein shake down " he needs to beef up and develop a hard edge and inside game for next year, he could become a very dangerous player if he can consistently compete on the inside and use his skills and class on the outside in space. His tackling has clearly improved from borderline non existent, clearly been a focus. Bottom line is Paul Roos and Simon Goodwin clearly see the possibility of him becoming a good player, fingers crossed they're right.
  15. Maybe because his leadership, commitment, loyalty and attitude have been nothing short of inspirational during the time of his injury and whether he makes it back or not being more like Jack Trengove is something every person should aspire to be. I know you won't understand that, Jacks signed a one year deal, for peanuts to try and resurrect his AFL career, knowing one more setback and he's done, he is absolutely 0 risk, huge upside if he does get him right because at his best he is absolutely best 22 with strong scope to grow into a very good player and he offers us more even when he isn't playing than half the blokes on our list. If anyones heart beats true, it's Trenners.
  16. Absolutely! bottom line is their ladder position was not defined, so they had no business resting players, and should have been done hard for tanking.
  17. I wanna see this kid on ball in 2016, if he gets into space anywhere near the forward 50 it's going to hit Hogan on the chest.
  18. I think the difference imo is that Hogan is far more mobile, I see him developing into a forward who just runs all day like roo or pavlich, allowing walker to stay close to goal where I think he has some talent.
  19. I think it's pretty easy to forget how good Jack Trengove is, him getting back to full form would be like adding another Brayshaw. would be huge if he can get himself right.
  20. I reckon Machsy would be able to provide a bit of insight. from my personal opinion I have always been impressed when I've seen him play, but Geelong's system/game style often can create a scenario where players look quite a lot better than they actually are.
