To the ears of the football gods ...
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dom Tyson also is a fairly important re-signing, someone I see becoming a very good player for us -
Saturday Talking Point: The NAB Challenge
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Milera is looking pretty good so far -
you know what the funniest part of this rumour is? the assertion that he has been talking to Port for some time how long ago was this alleged falling out? and they can still say with absolute certainty that he's off to Port despite his attitude towards training and positivity about the club in interviews, had this rumour been true he would be held back from interviews wherever possible.

Did Roosy knock back Todds attempt to come out of retirement?
-
I heard Angus Brayshaw has requested a trade to Brisbane because he likes the warm weather.

two things i'd add to this, there would be another SA team keen on him I reckon, and we certainly wouldn't accept a token pick.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Ted Lasso replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
Anyone else see a bit of Chris Judd in the way Oliver plays? strong at the contest but that bit of explosive pace as well -
LH, i reckon it'll be three years, sounds like Jesse's manager is very conscious of salaries going up and the demand for his client and doesn't want him to miss the boat on more money if he can help it It's disgusting how desperate reporters seem to be for him to leave, but unfortunately for them i think all roads lead to the top for us. Have a dockers supporting mate who even said they don't think Jesse will be leaving Melbourne any time soon, Dockers are far more concerned with luring Macarthey and Hooker at the end of this year

When did Purple say this?
-
His manager has also stated, multiple times that if Jesse were to be delisted, he'd stay in Melbourne. and Jesse is an extremely loyal dude who fully understands the investement and faith the club has shown him only small thing I have heard that worries me is that the extension might not be for as long as some are hoping.

Intraclub Practice Match - Friday 19th February, 2016
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Finally seems our best two players aren't Jones and Vince, which is a good sign! Viney and Gawn set for a huge impact this year. -
Don't even give this rubbish oxygen.
-
I get the sense the club had made it really clear what Jimmy had to improve to get more game time, and he just simply hadn't done it.

Intraclub Practice Match - Friday 19th February, 2016
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
How's the ball movement? it seems like both sides are quite attacking with the long kicks based off the tweets coming through and Jesse has kicked a few sausage rolls? -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER

Woa... -
If Paul Roos wants to stay at the MFC he will stay at the MFC, i would be absolutely shocked if the clubs position was any different.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Ted Lasso replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
I really think he is just not super confident with the media yet so probably sticking very close to what the coaches are telling him, no pressure, just develop your footy. i personally reckon he'll play about 10 games this year, i reckon the weid might be looked after a bit, so he can develop his body -
Kent is a jet, but i reckon Vanders is going to have a huge impact this year as well! those two will be a huge positive
-
Was he kicking on his left at all? to be totally honest i know it's not good at AFL level to be one sided but i'd be pretty happy for him to have a 90-10 ratio towards his right foot in an effort to protect his left a little more.

I just think he and his manager are playing it perfectly, the longer it goes the more his stocks rise, get his client the best possible deal to secure his financial future and his career at a club where he is happy, which i think will be the MFC
-
If Trenners does keep going the way he is i'd play him in the role we had Cross in, Half back who can mark, good user of the ball, rotating through the midfield with the odd tagging role

Did you offer him a pen so he can sign his new contract?
-
Just out of curiosity, does this appeal now mean it's up to the EFC essentially to prove they didn't take TB4, and to do so with no records?

Saturday Talking Point: How far can we improve in 2016?
Ted Lasso replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I disagree, i think you have to allow for player growth before making these calls, Tyson for example is training the best i've seen him since joining us, if he has a year like his first at the club or better it's a significant bonus, Viney is improving all the time and will hopefully play injury free this year, Mcdonald, Gawn and Hogan i expect to all improve again, Garlett kicks a bit straighter and we will score more, he was creating alot of goal scoring opportunities, Lumumba is a far better player then we saw last year. Cross is a big loss, but i reckon Salem will improve enough to cover it, and he's still around the club for the experience
