  1. I’m starting to worry Sparrow doesn’t have another level
  2. Just got into bed to discover the cat had spewed all over it. I think he’d seen the clearance differential.
  3. If there was a man capable of not thinking too deeply about criticism, Dogga is that man 😂 As many others in this thread have said, Fremantle have paid a LOT for potential and will need to be patient. Jackson is still learning his ruck craft & is not a clean mark (always two grabs). Time will tell.
  4. Considering all the concussion talk going on at the moment Pickett is lucky to get 2 weeks, the AFL loves nothing more than taking a stand on the issue of the week. Cop the 2 weeks and move on.
  5. Can’t articulate this well but I cannot stand the ‘serious & concerned’ tone the likes of Taylor and other commentators use when a serious injury occurs. One second they’re complete buffoons and the next they’re patronising the audience explaining that a serious injury is serious.
  6. We should be less worried about Caroline’s prediction & more worried about the article saying ANB will spend more time on the ball
  7. I work in digital marketing & really rate MFC’s social content. They do an excellent job nailing the type of content us tragics/nuffies want to see. It’s a shame to see Ben leave, you can tell he’s got real rapport with the players.
  8. Rude & rude. Coming from someone I'm guessing hasn't set foot in either.
  9. Not feeling great about this. A [censored] end to the season and a [censored] trade period. I’d like not to think about them until February.
  10. Late to the party but isn’t Gunston a very similar player to Fritsch? He’s a very good player but I wouldn’t think a Gunston type is at the top of our needs list.
  11. Imagine being paid millions to be an athlete and the one clause is 'don't be a [censored]' and you're not willing to commit to that 😆
  12. Respect for Brown, a good honest footballer.
  13. That result leaves a bad taste
  14. The politics of politeness & respectability are always a good way to shut down conversations people don’t want to have. ‘Now isn’t the time’ or ‘it’s disrespectful to discuss that right now’ are all great ways to shut down debate.
  15. Culture isn’t static, it has its ups and downs. It doesn’t magically stay good, or bad, without constant work. The response to this seasons results, the upcoming pre-season & 2023 are the real indicators of culture. This is their big test.
  16. There’s a million things that went wrong but here’s my top 3 To kick 11.13 and at least two out in the full is infruiating To give away stupid goals in the final minutes of quarters is enraging To sit there at 3/4 and KNOW they have nothing in the tank & Brisbane will run over us is depressing I don’t enjoy going to watch them
  17. They probably won’t do one - just like the 2018 prelim 😂
  18. After reading this thread the main theory seems to be we lost because the Mebourne fans didn’t make enough noise. Not that Sydney’s pressure strangled us, not that they were cleaner, not that our bottom tier players were unsighted, but that the supporters didn’t make enough noise 🤦‍♀️
  19. There’s a legend who sits in the AFL members. He’s got a shaved head, strong moustache, uggs & a blue Bonds singlet and there each week. Love his work.
  20. I love him but have nightmares about his left foot 😂
  21. Different take, and this might make me a dinosaur too - tears are often a frustration thing. As in you’re so angry by what has been said and frustrated because you know you can’t respond as you’d like that you end up crying. As in ‘I’d like to smash Zorko but know it’s the wrong thing & also don’t want to miss finals’ I thought those were rage tears. Very disappointing to hear Brown suggest Petty might be embarrassed. The AFL types all talk about mental health but seem unable to connect that old fashioned societal expectations of masculinity really hurt men & crush their ability to share their feelings. I love that our players so strongly care & support each other, they’re amazing examples to young ppl, especially men, about how you love your mates.
