  1. I'd say given that we re-signed Jamar for another 3 years he will be our no1 ruck, with Martin as 2nd ruck. Its hard to tell whether Gawn(injuries), fitzpatrick and Spencer will develop into no1 rucks so martin as Jamar are our safest bets atm. Sellar seems to be getting used as a defender/forward and i'd say that will be where he stays.
  2. You never know, now that we have Hogan and a couple of possible other players, some players that have said they wouldn't consider melbourne as a club to go to may change their minds as they can see what we're heading towards! i'm not saying that this will happen or that it is likely but i'd say it would probably increase the chances
  3. We would surely keep it wouldn't we??? we need to atleast keep one of our top 5 picks in what is considered "the best draft in history" and we should use this on O'rourke or Wines as we really still need some quality mids. i'm not fussed as to which of these 2 we get but i would prefer one of them to anybody else, unless toumpas is still available, which is higly unlikely The only reason for us to trade it would be if we were to get a current superstar!
  4. He's been living here since he was 14 so he would've settled in so the chances of this i would say are very slim
  5. The thing is, monster KPF's don't come along very often and when they do you should always snaffle them up. Big plus for the MFC
  6. Its definitely official! http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-demons-set-sights-on-young-wa-gun-jesse-hogan/story-fnahrzm3-1226490988966
  7. Outstanding! Hogan will set up our forward line for the next decade once he debuts and Barry looks like a very nice player. To get him along with pick 20 is gold as that will be a good bargaining pick for another established player (Dawes). With pick four our only high pick left now it will surely be used on a player such as Wines/O'Rourke. Can't wait It's been a brilliant FA/trade period so far. Keep it coming!
  8. As much as i would hate to lose Martin i would be quite happy with this deal
  9. lets hope, and hopefully it is before bulldogs bring in talk about possibly bringing the new pick they got for losing Lake!
  10. yeah it is a hell of a lot to give up but if they are indeed asking for this then that shows how much of a unstoppable force they believe he is! for us to give up both pick 3 and 13 he must be out of this world!
  11. as you said Caddy is very unlikely as he has said melbourne is virtually his last choice! Like the sound of these though good work
  12. We should be able to fit in both. Yes hogan may not live up to as high as the expectations of him are but he should still be a super forward anyway as he is tall, strong, fast and a top mark. The deal is said to include pick 20 from GWS too so If we do get Hogan that would most likely mean Dawes at pick 20 and he would be our 3rd tall and to have him as a 3rd tall is a pretty damn good outcome! We will still have pick 4 for another mid which quite possibly will be wines which would be great as we would have the 2 best inside mids in this years draft and we do need strong inside mids to help out Jones. Toumpaus would be nice but chances are he will be snapped up by the time our 4th pick arrives. Pick 13 could be used to pick up an outside runner or a small forward(kennedy). With our later picks we would be flexible anough to trade these off as with dawes (pick 20), also possibly ray(45).
  13. i'd love to get this guy too, but if what has been said about melbourne planning to trade pick 3 in this draft for 2 in the mini-draft so that we secure Hogan is true, i really can't see us getting him aswell, unless we're very lucky and he slips to pick 13/14. And what you guys say about inside mids is right, there is no point to having outside players if you have no hard inside players that can get it out to them!
  14. I don't think either are worth pick 13, but out of the two i would rather dawes as we will be able to get top notch midfielders in this years draft, caddy has said no to melbourne anyway, we're his last choice! If we trade pick 3 for 2 in the mini-draft then 13 would have be well and truely off limits! if the deal we get for pick 3 includes pick 20 given by GWS then that would be a far better pick to use on dawes. This would mean Hogan in the mini-draft, pick 4, 13/14, 20(dawes?), 26(viney), pick 45(ray?). We could really come out of this trade period and draft as having the biggest gain by far out of any of the clubs
  15. Super start to the day today! Viney with pick 26 and there is talk of us likely trading pick 3 for hogan in the mini-draft and we also get pick 20! I've seen footage of Hogan playing and everyone around him look like little grasshoppers! he is an absolute behomath, give him a year under afl training and a year in VFL and we would have ourselves a forward capable of dominating defence lines for many years to come as for pick 20, Dawes would fit in well with that pick. Also Perdersen via a player trade our forward line will be set up immensly! With Viney already being picked up at pick 26, we have huge potential to get another star in the midfield (wines/O'rourke) and zippy small fwd (kennedy). This draft should be the year where we make a killing and really set ourselves up for the near future and become a "superpower" as voss said we would become! now there is optimism B)
  16. I'd say the chances of us doing the deal with wellingham/dawes for pick 4 is highly unlikely now if we have traded pick 3 for pick 2 in the mini-draft for hogan (don't think this is comfirmed yet). This is fine by me as we can still get dawes with a lower pick and possibly still get pedersen with a trade. Would completely set up our fwd line
  17. If we have traded pick 3 to GWS then i think the chances of us trading pick 4 are next to none! We need a high pick in this draft and i'd say O'rourke/wines would still be available to us at pick 4
  18. I like the sound of this article. Pedersen, Ray, Dawes, Brynes and possibly wellingham. Sounds nice to me i would probably prefer to drop wellingham from the list so we still have pick 4 though. I don't really think Ray would be as good as some to pick up but you never know http://www.courierma...3-1226490211582
  19. thats why he is worth the risk, if he can return to what he was then he will be an excellent pick up!
  20. he had a hugely interrupted pre-season with injuries which would've set him back massively and then when he played in this season he was struck down by them again! Lets see how he goes with a full pre-season (hope he gets one). He is a huge talent and i think it it too soon to throw him into the scrap heap, but i think this season will be his last chance.
  21. McKenzie is an outstanding tagger. There is always a place in a team for a tagger, especially ones that can get the hard ball and not just take the other player out of the game. McKenzie is a keeper. yes he does need to improve his disposal work but he's not the only one who does on our list!
