  1. Yeah he gave formula 3000 a go in '97 and was team-mate to juan pablo montoya, unfortunately he didn't have the success montoya did in his 1 season as he retired in the majority of races and was unable to find the budget to compete another season so came back to V8's and won his first year back!
  2. I don't mind pick 13 for dawes. I think he can return to his form of a couple of seasons ago, but i do think our time would be better spent getting pedersen. Could we potentially get both??? that would really set up our fwd line
  3. if they're going to do anything they should re-vert back to the 4 bench system! that was far better than the current system imo and if they were to make it a 2-2 bench it would absolutely take the game backwards!
  4. Craig lowndes has got to be one of the greatest ever racers to be in the V8 Supercars! He has been one of the most consistent racers in the V8 in the last 20 odd years and is currently 38 years old and doesn't seem to be slowing at all. He has all of the prestigeous prizes in v8 and are as follows: . 3 time v8 supercars champion (1996, 1998-99), 3 time runner-up (2005-06, 2011), 2 time 3rd (2000, 2007), currently 2nd in this years championship. . won 1996 championship in his rookie year, youngest ever driver to do so at 22! . 5 time bathurst 1000 winner (1996, 2006-08, 2010), 5 times runner-up (1994, 1999, 2003-04, 2011), 1 time 3rd place (2012). . 87 race wins from 204 starts. . 101 podium finishes. . 40 round wins. . 31 pole positions. He always has a smile on his face whenever you see him in the field and always seems to be having a ball while still taking it seriously. one of the best people in the v8's IMO!
  5. i really rate him as a player. He has a fair bit of improvement in him that is needed but you can see the desire is there is he should definitely be capable of it. A must keep. By the way, what happened with him this year? was he injured?
  6. had a massive 1st half of the year before injury, worth every penny we spent on him!
  7. I think his time would be better spent in the role he played in his first few games when he was getting 30+ possesions, who cares if a few of those are a bit wayward? yes he is a decent tagger but he is a better ball getter!
  8. If viney goes to our 2nd rnd pick we could probably afford to go for a tall (grundy) with our 3rd or 4th pick. If we have to use him early we would surely use the other top 5 pick on another mid. My preference is: pick 3: toumpas pick 4: O'rourke/Grundy pick 13: kennedy pick 26: Viney

  10. I'd say that the chances of stef being traded to the pies is more unlikely now as the have lynch who can be a pinch hitting ruck/fwd to take some of the pressure of Jolly.
  11. and theres hit an all time low when they lost to GWS! at least we haven't had this happen with either of the new franchises
  12. we didn't lose anything, unrestricted free agent
  13. he will be an ideal pick up for us as we don't have any small, fast, crubing forwards and he ticks everyone of those boxes he brings a large amount of experience (dual preiership player) and he is also coming from a winning culture which is an invaluable trait and he can hopefully give our young players an idea of what they have to put in to make it at this level!
  14. i don't think it would be instead of brynes, i think it would be aswell as...
  15. wouldn't hurt, we do need small crumbing forwards and he has been reasonably successful at the lions. Nice pick up if it was to happen
  16. Gumby, when he has been fit he has proven he can well and truely play, he would be a great pick-up tp go along side clark! whengumby has been on the field he has made everyone else look like grasshoppers!!! he's HUGE As others have said though we do have sellar, and towards the end of the season he seemed to be getting more confident in his body and was really starting to perform
  17. after cameron pulled out of the coaching job they're down to about their 6th, 7th or even 8th choice of coach! Yes but who lost to gws AND gc in their first seasons??? says it all really
  18. Well i really can't see the deal happening if we don't offer a pick around that mark. Wellingham would be worth getting as he would add a bit of class, and dawes on his day is still a good marking forward who is accurate infront of goals. I really think it would be worthwhile us going for them, but if it does fall through we are placed really well to make a killing in this years draft
  19. Well what about pick 13 for dawes and wellingham? we should offer no less then a 1st rnd pick for them both, possibly a player with it?
  20. This should change given that we have had a clean out with staffing this season
  21. yes it is but provided we don't have to use pick 3 on viney we will still have 3, 13, 22, viney(26), wellingham, dawes and anyone else we pick up. sounds pretty good to me if this happens
  22. i'm liking the sound of melbourne getting both wellingham and Dawes in a package deal! just on trade radio, wellingham dawes and pies 1st rnd pick (22 or whatever it is) for pick 4!
  23. Players can hit each other right on the chest when they're kicking to teamates so why not goals? all they should do when kicking for goal is pick out a spectator or group of spectors behind the goals and kick it to them as if they were kicking to a teamate! this should drastically increase player accuracy
