  1. he was showing consistency throughout this season which is a good sign, and considering he had fractured his vertebrae at the beginning of the year, his year was even more impressive given the injury he had. I think he will begin to grow under neeld and get the consistency in his game which would make him highly dangerous for opposition clubs
  2. this isn't her attacking the dees but she is yet again making claims that aren't entirely true!!! When will she learn?!?
  3. I can't see why people are getting so worked up about him not smiling that much! I would say he hasn't had much experience when it comes to interviews infront of loads of people so he may've been a little shell-shocked and not sure as to what to say and do. He has only been at the club for a number of weeks, let him settle in and make a platform before we see what he is really like. Give him a break!
  4. can't see any changes coming. All the players in there lead by example with their work ethic.
  5. That may've been the case with the previous group at the MFC. with the new group handling things i feel we will draft far better as Neeld seems to have a strong direction that he plans to take us down.
  6. WOW, it must've taken them a long time to come up with that one!!!
  7. I didn't actually mean that we should chase them but i can see how what i said may make you think that. All i mean is GWS would have made a serious mistake imo if they were not able to keep both those fwds because of tippett as they seem as though they will be likely stars, i know its early to say that but its on the cards i reckon. any of the others that will quite possibly be pushed out (mids or backs) would be worth looking at though.
  8. with GWS seemingly very keen on taking him with one of their high end pick in one of this years drafts, I really feel it will push out one of Cameron or Patton! As tippet is asking for $1 million a season and as they already have scully on a multi million deal this would severley screw them as far as keeping a large number of their young talent it would seem. If Cameron or patton were to leave GWS for another club due to them not being able to fit in the salery cap, imo it would be a severe c*#k up by the giants! There will inevitably be a number of their young guns leaving due to a salery cap squeeze anyway but i wouldn't have thought either of these 2 would've ever been thought to have been one of these players!
  9. With Bailey's comments you would think that the investigation should have very little to go on now as Bailey would've been the key piece in the puzzle. As he has said that he never told the players or any other coach/s to deliberately lose games this puts to rest a rule that has been set in place by the AFL, and i would think that it was the main one that they would've been going on. And just because these meetings in the "vault" occurred, does not mean we actually acted on it, we may have just sucked (definitely).
  10. well if we were to get through this years draft which is seeming more likely now and we have picks stripped from us in next seasons draft it probably won't have as bigger impact as some predict it will on us. This is because we have already locked away Hogan who was expected to be a top 5 pick in next years draft, so even if they were to, lets say, strip us of our first 2 picks in next seasons draft, it won't be as if we're being left empty handed as we will have a higly talented KPF who, theoretically will be a 10-12 year power forward for the club.
  11. of our new recruits, the two i think that will improve the most are dawes (playing where he should be) and Pedersen as he will actually be playing games. Of the players already on our list i think Sylvia will improve again, he was beggining to show signs of consistency during the year and that was after he had fractured his back! Mitch clark should also have an improved year, but only because he may play out the whole season, i don't think he could improve too much on his season this year when he actually played.
  12. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/150595/default.aspx Thisarticle says down the bttom that we could be stripped of pick 27. That wouldn't be bad at all as we would just have to use pick 50 (or what ever it is) on viney instead. Pick 4 can't be used for a father son pick because it is a compo pick so if that is all they take then its happy days! I still get the feeling though that we won't have much happen.
  13. I know that wikipedia has very little credibility, but lets say this is one of the points that the AFL are looking at (or similar), we should be safe as i really don't think the players would ever play to lose or be instructed to lose. They would've only been played in unfamiliar positions which would possibly make it seem like they weren't giving it 100%.
  14. It does seem that way but all they would mean is our 1st 2 picks in the draft.
  15. It definitely makes sense. Bailey didn't want to do what he did, he was forced into by those above him, so the people who forced his hand should be the ones punished, not the whole club along with the supporters! its good to see that not everyone is against melbourne through this even eddie maguire seems to be against the investigations!
  16. even with this so called "meeting" bobbing up i still really fail to see how the AFL will be able to convict us of it! it's not as though there would be any proof that they could find that would convict us of this except to take the words of the so called 'witnesses'!
  17. This non-goal seems to really stick in my mind when it comes to rodan! [media=] i think he will be a good get for us but geez, this was a bit of a screw up! damn funny though
  18. out of toy, jacobs and surjan i would go in this order. 1) Jacobs 2) Toy 3) Surjan It has been great this trade and F/A period, good to see the club having a clear goal and really going after who they want
  19. I always try and see the bright side of things even if it involves my favourite player leaving while i would've like to get more for him (pick 33) i'm not devastated, we can still get a player with 'potential' with pick 54 (or whatever it is), and given this is meant to be a deep draft that is more likely. i do feel though we will regret trading him but we can never keep every player.
  20. Well martin i think we will miss although with the addtions of Dawes, Pedersen and hogan (2014) he would have really struggled to get games (even though i highly rate him). gysberts we still really don't know how he will go, but pedersen will add to our team instantly. with clark, dawes and him in this year he will likely get the 3rd best defender so he should kick a cpl of goals per game and then add dawes and clarks goals and we should now have a dominating fwd line so i would say we have won with that even though gysberts will likely become a good player. Morton very liekly wasn't going to add anything to us at all as he failed to add strength or develop as a player and to get anything for him was probably a plus even though it is a worthless pick but it could be used on a mutura ge guy or just upgrading a rookie. all in all i call it a win in the F/A, trade period as we have filled many holes and we still have the draft and PSD to go
  21. Anyone who says that it is not a pass, i am truely shocked! We have filled so many holes during this trade period and there is still the draft to come and the PSD. We have picked up 3 strong fwds (Dawes, pedersen, Hogan), 3 speedy players (brynes, Rodan, barry) and a highly rated mid (viney) and we have gotten rid of a a few players that seemed to be pushed out as they no longer fitted with where we're going or are not performing (gysberts, Morton, Martin). With pick 4 we can address our midfield with a highly probable 10 year+ player and we can pick up others in the national and PS draft. I cannot get my head around how people can grade our F/A and trade period as a fail!?!?
  22. 1) Dawes - He's going to be played in his prefered spot in the team so he should return to how he played under Malthouse 2) Trengove - Another year as captain and another growing as a player, expect to see him have a much improved 2013 3) watts - as he will be in defence, i think he will play like he was mid 2012 except for the whole year edit: Sylvia, given that he was showing consitency during this year will probably have a big year too
  23. Yeah i agree with martin. Once that peice falls i think the rest will be quick to follow As for pedersen, i think he would be able to fit in well on the half fwd area (LHF/RHF) and give us another big man up there. When Hogan comes in the following season, it may look like being too top heavy but would there really be any defenses in the game that could stop 4 big, strong talls? I can't think of any that could. we would still have brynes and another small in the fwd pockets, so it wouldn't be as though we would have no speed in the fwd line.
  24. no i don't, but part of his job is to improve his playing list which is exactly what he is currently doing, getting players to fill the holes that we currently have.
  25. Yeah it sure is, and there may well be strong 10 year players available there but you really never know. It's always a risk trading picks around that area as there is always a chance of unearthing someone special, but trading the pick can always result in a big plus too, i guess thats the risk that we seem to be willing to take, provided we get the pick.
