I can't recall exactly recall which article it was i read it in but it had him along side ruckman such as cox, mumford, natainui etc. you can say all you like that i am making it up about the article just to make my argument a bit stronger but he was higly rated in it and we would really hate to lose him and have him in a year or 2 become another situation like Jolly and dominate teams while we sit back and wonder what could've been! He is a similar type as natainui as he has similar athleticism, speed and agillity and these traits do not come along very often in ruckman and when they do we really need to take the opportunity and not let it slip! Spencer and gawn are no guarantees to make it at AFL level and with Jamar seemingly beginning to decline in his effectiveness and he is definitely no guarantee to play out his contract, who would we have to pull their weight in the ruck once he is gone?!? Martin deserves his chance to take the number 1 position. exactly my thinking

Where would we have been last year without him in the ruck!?!? he held us together in the middle and was one of our best players during the time he was our number 1 ruckman! he also has outstanding agillity and speed for a guy his size! he may not always be the best decision maker or disposal player but these aspects of his game are all improving the longer we have him. i truely believe if it were not for his injuries this year he could've have just as good a year as last if not better, during the time when he was our number 1 ruckman last year he was rated as in the top 3-5 ruckman in the comp!

There are many players who have been recycled to another club because they haven't been able to perform at their first club, and once recycled they have become a major part in their new team so why can't he do the same? He obviously has good talent as he was a top draft pick, the only worry is if he has the desire and considering he has played in the SANFL reserves is not a good sign, but as said above putting him on the permission to train list would be a good choice. if it turns out he really wants it then we should take him, if not then i don't know what's next for him.

I definitely think we got it wrong with junior! he was one of our best if not our best the year they forced him out and when he did play this year at GWS he was still pretty decent. Imo we did lose a fair bit when moving him on. As for Green, he was starting to show signs of slowing down this year but he did still perform very well at the bottom end of the season, but there is a line where you either retire before you start to go downhill and be remembered as a great player or play on and struggle and have that as the last memories of supporters and i think the timing was right. Cam Bruce i think was getting too old, even though he wasn't as old as some he was showing strong signs of slowing down, or atleast he did when he went to the hawks (i'm still surpirsed they took him given his age)

i would love to see him come to the club! he was a good coach at carlton and i feel he was very unlucky to be sacked as carlton were dominating early in the year before injuries hit them. he would be a great addition to our new coaching team

yeah fair point but we would hate to pass on him and he happens to shrug his injuries and becomes a star! but i guess you can say that about many of the draftees

Would this guy be worth the risk if he was to plummet down the order (to 30 as said in the article) due to his most recent injury of his knee? he is considered to be a top 5 draft pick on his talent! Menzel's injury history weighs on draft

provided he can shake his injuries i'm all for us getting him he has already shown that when he is fit he can easily cut it at this level. it would be a risk but if it pays off!

yeah it is good, they're letting the contests go for longer and not interrupting it! As long as they stay consistent through the whole finals series and don't chop and change all the time i'm happy
