Tom Fullarton - back up ruck?
Probably true re Schache and the the dogs - and yet a team that has struggled for KPD happily let him go 🤔

Tom Fullarton - back up ruck?
Watch some Casey games - he has absolutely no reason to feel hard done by or p*sided off atm I’m not always convinced by Goodwins comments but re him not getting a hit out in the AFL atm he is spot on Personally I don’t think he will ever be a ruck at AFL level - his only chance realistically is to focus on KPF - imo we should park him at CHF and Jefferson at FF for every game for the rest of Caseys season and see what they can do - They have been playing Schache back and maybe that’s his only chance (another Rory Lobb ?)

AFL Mid-Season Draft 2024
Fair enough but we are also light on for quality tall forwards last time I checked. Oh you can add quick midfielders who can deliver the ball by foot accurately too if you like. The reality is that this list needs a few gaping holes filled and our list managers and recruiting team need to really get to work over the summer. If it was me I’d be parting ways with whatever type of player we think we have surplus of (HBF or small forwards) might be a starting point and get to work addressing these deficiencies - including the ridiculous lack of a genuine back up ruckman Fullarton is not without skill and does do some reasonable things around the ground but he needs about 8-10 kilos on his frame to stand any chance of being a VFL or AFL ruck imho

Petty Re-Signs for 2 Years
Do we have a first round pick - seem to trade those away most years ?

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Genuinely starting to think you have a pretty big bet on this bloke playing a senior game this season Based on what I’ve seen (and it’s been most Casey games this year) he is still well below the level required - unless of course the intensity at VFL level is way higher than AFL (it clearly is not) Yes he has shown glimpses in small cameos but he is way off the pace as a possible AFL KPF We need him to do a “McVee” over the summer - fingers crossed 🤞

CASEY: Rd 17 vs Frankston
Seems like he enjoyed his last stint on an AFL list Previously the number five pick in the 2019 rookie draft, Bell enjoyed one year at St Kilda before being delisted at the end of 2020. He may not have been in the fold for long, but the ruck says he learnt plenty from his time at the elite level. “It was a great experience,” Bell told Casey Media

CASEY: Rd 17 vs Frankston
Maybe but really as a defender he is primarily competing against his opposition forward (not his team mates) He isn’t without potential but in a team that is losing more weeks than not he really should be able to accumulate more possessions From my observations he seems really quite timid and lacks confidence to take the game on and demand possessions when his team is moving the ball forward Tommo runs to receive always so maybe he doesn’t feel like he can take that role - but yesterday with no Tommo or AMW he surely could have taken a more active role - but didn’t He will need to have a big pre season and start showing more consistent output if he wants a career at AFL level imho

He plays golf on Tuesdays apparently

CASEY: Rd 17 vs Frankston
Be very surprised if he has either the fitness base or work ethic to run through the midfield

NON-MFC: Round 19
Joke that Essendon and top 4 can even be mentioned in the same sentence Pathetic pretenders and so good to see their season nosediving
-
Potential Father Son Prospect Noah Yze
Good summary I’d like to see home play for Casey a few more times as I think his output will improve with more game time at that level and a better understanding of his teammates and game plan Looks physically up to it which is quite impressive for a lad of that age

Kozzie Pickett - 100 games
The best small forward we’ve had since the The Wiz Both sensational players but Kozzy has arguably more tricks due to his time in the midfield He is building consistently in output and tempering some of his aggression One of our very best and a great career so far He is a ripper

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Essendon
Unfortunately I haven’t had the pleasure of watching the game yet due to a family commitment last night but I came here to enjoy reading what other supporters took from this game Your constant bleating and repetition bashing one of our own players is both tedious and annoying You made your point known 50 posts ago - how about focusing more on the positives and understanding that the coach and FD will determine selection and team composition which in their far more more insightful view optimises our chances of winning every game May a politely suggest you become a tad more glass half full

"Very sore" Max Gawn in doubt for next Saturday vs Essendon
This simply highlights how desperate we should be to get a genuine strong back up ruck it’s just unsustainable to rely on Max fronting up week after week Obviously we thought Fullerton could be the foil for Max but so far he looks a long way off being capable of what we need - if he is not playing this week with Max absent then that says a fair bit about how the FD are rating him atm If he does get a go let’s hope he performs well as that would be a big boost to our short term prospects

If it’s forwards that can’t kick straight or consistently impact on the scoreboard we have a few to loan out

Too Predictable
So very harsh on Fritsch - arguably one of, if not, the most predictably good forwards in the last few seasons
