Agree - I said the same a while back. The way he handballs (particularly off the left side) you would swear he is a clone of the great man. Will he reach the same heights? We can all dream. He has a bright future ahead given he appears to have a good head on his shoulders and seemingly a great work ethic.

Looks like a kick to me whether there was more or less force seems a bit irrelevant But we can have our differences on kicking being acceptable in our game - I’d prefer it was banned How about eye gouging? - not much force required to do some serious damage to someone’s eye - just a quick poke and wallah impaired vision for the rest of the game (if your lucky)
-
I was joking but Someone moves 50cm on the mark after being told to stand - umpire awards a 50m penalty and the player kicks a goal and wins the grand final Is the penalty commensurate with the act - of course not But that’s the rules You introduce shades of grey it invites all sorts of problems imo Kicking someone should not be part of our game imo irrespective of the level of force it’s just an ugly look
-
Just kick him apparently that’s ok now
-
I’ll admit had serious doubts on whether he would transition to AFL level footy but in his two games to date has been a worthy addition Hopefully he continues to build confidence and strength - his disposal efficiency is certainly a real bonus

Good news week (positive news only)

But they loved the “blues bros” - couldn’t get enough of that tripe You hit the nail on the head the AFL and 7 would rather push that whole Maynard fiasco under the carpet I hope he cops it in every game he plays and I would love JV to run straight through him (legally of course) when he fronts up to us next time -
I suspect it is about $$$$$ as the group sponsoring the score review have asked or mandated a minimum no of score reviews so they get their monies worth Tine will tell but if we continue to see unnecessary reviews then this can be the only explanation Bouncing it at the top of the square is just so wrong - hopefully the umpires discuss this and don’t repeat it

I’m a big fan of Petty and I admit I have not seen the replay of the WB game yet or the Casey practice match but from the reports on Pettys performance you’d have to question if he is ready for a return to AFL footy The last thing we need to do is rush him back for him to underperform or worse get an injury - I would have thought we use BBB or Fullarton until Petty is actually ready to go
-
Sounds like he barely touched it today too 😳
-
Please cc his highlights package to the recruiting dept @crows thx

Or Collingwood just think it’s going to fall into place again without the same level of effort - or maybe a combination of these things
-
Collingwood look v v v ordinary it’s a wonderful thing
-
He absolutely did - Lever would need to have a good game
-
Agree I thought Tommo was one of our only winners last week - very strange
-
He is contracted next year isn’t he ? Then they will need to come up with some very very good draft picks - not sure how that happens
-
I don’t want Petty or TMac rucking I was saying they are forward options Rucks we have Max , Fullerton , Schache, Verrall and KFW probably in that order
-
Pies looked good enough to suggest they will be thereabouts again - like us their F50 personnel is probably their main weakness They will miss McStay as much as we miss Petty. Johnson was disappointing, Cox was just that, Mihocek is slightly better than JVR arguably, Hill is their Pickett and Schultz is very overrated imo, Elliott always asked to play taller than he is, McCreery is ok but no star
-
No he was right about the good looking supporters in Sydney 😀

Personally I think they can both do some midfield minutes HBF is one of the easier gigs on the ground imho surely we can use Hore or Woey depending on matchups to fill a void While Petty is absent I think we are way more dangerous up forward when Trac is up there
-
Tend to agree - a compounding factor is as has been discussed many times our players delivering into F50 either don’t look for the best options or simply don’t have the skill to execute effectively This is one reason I’d like to see if McVee can play some midfield time as he does have good kicking skills and seems capable of spotting a clear target - see the kick to Fritta against the swans. I struggle to see some of our regular mids making that kick

JVR has some way to go before he is considered an A grade tall forward but put Petty next to him and I am sure his output would be much better. Thursday was not the best night (from a conditions perspective for tall forwards), it was a pretty scrappy game and really slippery. The swans have a few guys that are decent overhead, and they really didn't fare any better than JVR. McDonald 3 marks McLean 2 marks Amartey 1 mark JVR had 2 marks with less support than the Swans guys and still similar output - I also note he had more disposals than the Swans tall forwards. We have unrealistically high expectations for Jacob because atm he is our only tall that can compete with bigger bodies. We need Petty back asap or move May forward or take a chance on Adams. While we keep persisting with other talls (who I don't need to mention) that can't physically compete and present in the F50 JVR will continue to struggle

I thought May was pretty solid as well with the exception of a couple of shaky moments -
My question is whether or not you think Jefferson is capable of playing AFL football successfully. I'm not wanting to knock the kid but he seems to me to be following the same path as a few that have failed before him namely Weideman and Josh Schache. These guys have skills, but they seem to lack the intensity to compete at the top level. I did take some heart from watching Cadman live last Saturday night - he looked a completely different player than the young kid that looked out of his depth somewhat last year. JUH was similar in his first block of games. Maybe Matt will follow their path - he is an important player and quite critical you'd think to our future prospects up forward so keen to get your collective take on him at this stage of his career

Good observation - McInerney ran into Max at one point when he was looking the other way - put him on the ground and clearly sore - no free kick no reaction from our playing group. McInerney also tried to ruff up McVee - again no real response. I think we have been coached not to overreact but there is a fine line between overreacting and supporting your teammates and showing the opposition that sort of stuff is not on
