Jack Viney 200 Games
Congratulations Jack hugely underrated by most footy fans other than those wearing red and blue Every supporter is proud of the way you go about it. Ferocious at the contest and 100% effort for 100% game time Keep up the great work and hopefully another cup waits for you next time at the MCG

Harrison Petty
lol we would be clear premiership favourites with LJ in the team atm - as a forward he would be very very handy and as a ruck he would be very very handy We are one Max Gawn injury away from being in deep p00p

Harrison Petty
Looks more like BBB to me Even if it was Jefferson he looks light years away from being a KF at VFL much less AFL level imo

Harrison Petty
I think reading between the lines the farm is being offered to Petty not the MFC This could be similar or worse than the LJ fiasco - the compensation in that case was well under market imo and as time moves on it looks even worse. Players that can have a significant impact on the outcome of individual games are as rare as hens teeth - LJ is unquestionably in that category now and will become more valuable in time. For us Petty is close to that because he is our most versatile tall (the main question mark on him would be capacity to stay on the park consistently) Iām still hopeful he decides to stick with us but if he is determined to leave get ready for us to to very disappointed with the compensation

I donāt see playing the kid in the backline as his biggest problem There have been plenty of guys who have spent time in defence as part of their education before becoming AFL forwards - in our own club weāve had several Neitz and Petty being recent examples He has a very long steep hill to climb imo before he is even close to playing AFL

I really hope youāre right Redleg - Kolt I can see it with Jefferson I just canāt despite wanting him to succeed

CASEY: Rd 01 vs Box Hill
Maybe but reckon JVR will always be a better back up ruck than Fullarton - heās much more aggressive and physical Imo if Fullarton is going to make it as a an AFL footballer it has to be as a KPF - over to you Tom

CASEY: Rd 01 vs Box Hill
Iām pleasantly surprised how well Howes is going at AFL level because Iāll admit I had my doubts that he had the requisite intensity to play at that level This week Casey were blown away in the first 15 mins and then spent the remainder of the match killing any chance of of a comeback through shocking skill errors and costly turnovers I was quite impressed by Tholstrup who did some nice things and showed that he was fine competing against stronger more mature bodies - a couple of time he probably did the team things when arguably he could of achieved a better outcome by being a bit more selfish - he has the right attitude though of the others Tommo - was playing in a backline that was under siege for most of the day and was not helped by some terrible turnovers - he was guilty of a couple of these himself mind you. Serviceable game I think but not screaming pick me imo Adams - Iād like to be seeing more but he reminds me of a very green Petty so hopefully he keeps improving during the year - he has the tools to be ok Jefferson - Iām really not convinced and I can see a lot of Schache and Weed in Matt - his first efforts are passable - his second efforts are non existent. Yes he is young and yes some talks take longer but there are also some that just donāt have what it takes. Hope Iām wrong but he looks like he is going to struggle Woey- ok but struggled a bit with disposal. Still think he will be useful as a an AFL player the question is whether or not he is a best 22 player Fullarton - like KFW he was monstered in the ruck by Meek who is a very big boy. I think there is a reason he spent his last year at Brisbane VFL team as a forward predominantly - rucking against taller and heavier opponents is tough for him and letās face it at AFL level that is going to be the norm. We would be better off playing him as a KPF and trying to get him good at that - next season he may be one of our only options for that position Laurie - he has ability but his lack of consistency is a bit disappointing. Does some good things and then either goes missing or makes silly mistakes. Still can make it imo AMW - feels like he would perform better with more talent around him - not sure where he would get a game at AFL level though - HFF possibly- but replacing who? Schache - looks ok at VFL but still really doesnāt impose himself enough given his size - I would be surprised if he kept his place on the list next year

Both he and Adams are a serious concern at this stage - really should be showing more

With injuries to May and Lever there are openings for Tommo or maybe Adams ? Havenāt seen much of Jed this year and thought he was a fair way off last season but will be interesting to see if he can put his hand up

Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor
Agree - I said the same a while back. The way he handballs (particularly off the left side) you would swear he is a clone of the great man. Will he reach the same heights? We can all dream. He has a bright future ahead given he appears to have a good head on his shoulders and seemingly a great work ethic.

PREGAME: Rd 02 vs Hawthorn
Looks like a kick to me whether there was more or less force seems a bit irrelevant But we can have our differences on kicking being acceptable in our game - Iād prefer it was banned How about eye gouging? - not much force required to do some serious damage to someoneās eye - just a quick poke and wallah impaired vision for the rest of the game (if your lucky)

PREGAME: Rd 02 vs Hawthorn
I was joking but Someone moves 50cm on the mark after being told to stand - umpire awards a 50m penalty and the player kicks a goal and wins the grand final Is the penalty commensurate with the act - of course not But thatās the rules You introduce shades of grey it invites all sorts of problems imo Kicking someone should not be part of our game imo irrespective of the level of force itās just an ugly look

Welcome to Demonland: Blake Howes
Iāll admit had serious doubts on whether he would transition to AFL level footy but in his two games to date has been a worthy addition Hopefully he continues to build confidence and strength - his disposal efficiency is certainly a real bonus

Good news week (positive news only)
But they loved the āblues brosā - couldnāt get enough of that tripe You hit the nail on the head the AFL and 7 would rather push that whole Maynard fiasco under the carpet I hope he cops it in every game he plays and I would love JV to run straight through him (legally of course) when he fronts up to us next time

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
I suspect it is about $$$$$ as the group sponsoring the score review have asked or mandated a minimum no of score reviews so they get their monies worth Tine will tell but if we continue to see unnecessary reviews then this can be the only explanation Bouncing it at the top of the square is just so wrong - hopefully the umpires discuss this and donāt repeat it

PREGAME: Rd 02 vs Hawthorn
Iām a big fan of Petty and I admit I have not seen the replay of the WB game yet or the Casey practice match but from the reports on Pettys performance youād have to question if he is ready for a return to AFL footy The last thing we need to do is rush him back for him to underperform or worse get an injury - I would have thought we use BBB or Fullarton until Petty is actually ready to go
