  1. Agree Mitchell is quite impressive in his pressers - they have the makings of a decent team in the next few years. Despite their ladder position and win/loss ratio this year their future looks brighter than a few other higher profile teams IMO
  2. Daniel Turner has a future as an AFL player IMHO.
  3. yep in June Three more for Joel Amartey (sydneyswans.com.au)
  4. Glen Waverley goes all right on the HBF
  5. Agree that McKay is not worth anything like pick 3 - can you even begin to imagine the absolute meltdown on this site if we traded a pick 3 for him - OMG If his draft number when selected had any relevance to his value now we should be looking at moving Josh Schache on for a low first rounder - Hah !
  6. Would have thought Watson was the last thing we needed to improve our list IMO
  7. Agree it's a wise decision but very unfortunate - could certainly play
  8. I find it quite remarkable that we haven't got access to technology that can give us 99% accuracy on these decisions. In cricket they can detect the faintest of edges in the centre wicket area, or whether the ball will strike the stumps or not, and in tennis if the ball touches the line or misses by millimeters. In our game we get blurred images which 9 times out of ten are inconclusive - does the AFL like it this way or are they just too tight to pay for something that actually is worth having.
  9. Trying to give someone else a chance ?
  10. Love Tmac but that was my take as well - hard to see him getting enough fitness back in the time remaining to be a weapon.
  11. We'd be well advised to pick our best possible team this week and win - lock in a top 4 spot and then do whatever floats your boat in the final game.
  12. Absolute must win game for us this week. If we lose it could become a must win game at the SCG against the Swans to retain our top 4 position. Personally, I wouldn't like our chances particularly when the Swans may very well be playing for a finals place in Round 24. Backs to the wall in Sydney they will be very hard to beat. It highlights again how damaging the loss on the weekend was - things could get ugly quickly if we can't beat the Hawks who based on exposed form will be a tough opposition if we are not 100% switched on.
  13. Verrell is clearly lacking the fitness base to play the position he is being asked (and required) to play at Casey. I've seen enough to think he is a chance to make it as an AFL player. I'm still not sure if it is going to be as a ruck, tall forward or a hybrid along the lines of LJ. Either way he has to work really hard over the summer and get a lot fitter. He looms as a very critical player for 2024 as we desperately need another tall that can contribute to these areas. I have my doubts on the futures of BB, Tmac, Schache and possibly even Grundy.
  14. Still scratching my head wondering how this game got away. 3.13 doesn't tell the whole story because there were countless other F50 entries that counted for zero with poor decision making or poor skill execution. I gave up counting how many times Casey hit the post I'm guessing it was 6 to 7 times including one ridiculous Kynan Brown miss from a couple of metres out. It felt a little bit like the AFL match where we simply were not destined to win the game. We achieved nothing from our weekend other than my hate of everything to do with the CFC just being taken up a notch.
  15. Do the double full stops give this dribble some alternate meaning ?
  16. Probably called it off because the only question would be - are Grundy and Oliver playing?
  17. Correct - Jefferson has kicked 21 goals this year - JVR got 36 last season You're probably right re more competition in the forward line this year - last year JVR was mainly competing with Mitch White who played higher up the field and Weid.
  18. My comment was in the context of a highly rated low draft pick not fulfilling his potential.
  19. I agree the comparison with JUH is probably the closest. Whether or not he reaches that standard is anyone's guess, but he certainly has shown some similarities in the early stages of his career. I recall looking at JUH and really wondering if he'd live up to the hype given the lack of any physical presence. He was capable of the odd mark - just like Jefferson but never really looked like making a big impact in games. Jefferson really needs to get stronger which is not great surprise - lots of gym time over summer may help just like it has with JUH who now looks physically up to competing with seasoned defenders. By mid-next season we will have a better idea of how Jefferson is progressing. Hopefully he will be starting to impact games more consistently, taking more marks and scoring regularly. Tick those boxes and he will be pushing for selection. If he is still performing at the level we have seen this season at Casey we can start to get a little concerned we have another Weid mark II.
  20. I am always a bit reluctant to drop names when not being positive but if you really must know who I think is less reliable than McVee May - great defender but he is prone to the odd Clanger kick leading to easy goals - he is also nowhere near as assured as McVee when the ball is on the ground Rivers - love him as a player and think his disposal has improved greatly this season but still can be hit and miss when he tries to pinpoint targets. His marking has improved significantly and is now taking plenty of important intercept marks to complement Lever Gus - has his moments - rather the ball in McVees hands in lots of traffic and when a quick decision is required though Lever - his kicking is not the weapon that Judd has imo nor does he run and create as well , but that’s not his role to be fair Others Bowey generally very reliable disposing Salem see Bowey Hibberd similar to the two above imo
  21. McVee is one player that is reliable in terms of decision making and execution when he has possession We have a couple of others in our back six that are capable of some costly turnovers. We also have a couple that aren’t at their best when the ball hits the ground - In this area McVee is a standout Our back six is much better with Judd in it imo - maybe he is feeling the pinch but if not he stays in
  22. Your dislike for Spargo is really getting very predictable, unfair and unwanted imo Perhaps it’s time to not say anything if you haven’t got anything positive or constructive to add
  23. Feeling a little bit pleased with Harry's 6 goal effort this morning 😀
