  1. I thought scrimshaw was very good against the puppy dogs
  2. Thought I was being a bit optimistic ๐Ÿ˜‚ He does look like a real good one imo and would love to add him to our list Question is whether we need a pure midfielder more - he may even be capable of midfield such is his mobility Anyway Iโ€™m sure JT knows a hell of of lot more than I do ๐Ÿ˜€

I truly hope there is no way we recruit this bloke Please take our picks to the draft we must be able to get better value there - a big refresh is needed
  4. Having watched the Gippsland v Dandenong final my observations Langford - good in patches but not that influential. Probably just a down day and you can see he is a talent Ah Mu - big boy and reasonably mobile not sure if that size will be enough in AFL but not with potential Mentha - looked pretty good before being injured Andrew - like his brother very athletic and has some skills worth a point imo I was probably most impressed with Alix Tarau who would be a good second round pick if available. Over 190cm mobile , good hands and doesnโ€™t mind a bit of rough stuff.
  5. He was subbed off at half time with ribs/breathing problems - perhaps a bit harsh But port have been abysmal
  6. Apologies if itโ€™s been discussed previously but what are the concerns expressed or implied by Trac about Oliverโ€™s treatment in 2023?
  7. Seems to me we are going to see (or should I say) should see quite a few leave the list If that happens can we afford to do any bundling of picks when we may need to do a major restock of talent? Not opposed to the idea but how to we fill our 44 list spots if we have limited draft picks ? Iโ€™m not seeing too many if any decent OOC players floating around that would improve our list
  8. He doesnโ€™t hate the job though The people who work there - who knows Iโ€™m sure there are some that are frustrating but Iโ€™d be shocked if he could walk into another AFL club and not find DHs and huge egos it goes with the territory Iโ€™m happy to take his grievances on face value that some things needed to change (we all agree on that) - if they do I canโ€™t see why he wouldnโ€™t be happy to see out what is a very lucrative contract If he still sees the grass greener somewhere else in a year or two Iโ€™m resigned to the fact he may PO but I want us to work that trade to our best advantage and preferably not to Collingwood or Carlton
  9. Not any worse than McAdam ? Hardly a great sales pitch
  10. He is a good footballer but not sure that highlights package translates to AFL level tbh Lots of dinky kicks and handballs over his head (granted many do hit the target) - personally I still think Langford is a better option if he is still an option at our first pick Reid looks more like a slightly faster version of Spargo to me
  11. I can understand your disappointment as I share it but tbh I think this is a bit unfair You make it sound like the team fell off a cliff after winning the flag in 2021. The reality is it won more games than any other team in 2022 and 2023 I think. Yes we lost the 4 finals but while incredibly disappointing there were some reasons. Some inaccurate kicking (all teams are guilty of this some days) and key injuries. This year was always going to be tough with losing Gus and JS before a ball was even bounced. Then to have more key players go down we were always facing an uphill battle. The reality is a few breaks go our way and top 4 could have still been possible. It is a very very even comp these days and if teams are a little bit off their game or have key injuries it has a huge impact on results. I think itโ€™s possible for this team to bounce back into finals next year so long as we have a fully fit Trac and Oliver. Big ifs I know they will be critical to our chances. We must draft in good ball users and I hope Langford is available as he looks exactly what we need. Some smart trading would also help set us up for solid season (this has obviously been a weakness in the past couple of years with some highly questionable decisions). We need to find a solid back up for Max and some additional mid field depth. Anyone who bothered to watch Casey this season would appreciate how thin we are in the midfield. Iโ€™m still trying to remain glass half full - if the train doesnโ€™t get back on the tracks and show signs of improvement early next season Iโ€™ll start to have my doubts then.
  12. Maybe he was wanting a firm commitment from the club to implement some changes rather than just lip service before he said he was staying (that would make sense to me) What doesnโ€™t make sense is for this statement of commitment to be made now when we are still weeks away from the trade period
  13. Why not the victim card seems useful these days for garnering support and followers on social media
  14. Casey were pretty poor all year and most games the ball was parked in their D50 for the majority of the game The fact he rarely if ever got into double figures in the possession count is pretty damming imo Hopefully he has a big pre season and builds some strength and confidence because both seem to be lacking at this stage
  15. Well deserved Max - a tower of strength (literally) for this great club The thing that opposition supporters seem to forget is that all teams try to physically beat Max up every game with borderline legal tactics. The great man just keeps going about his business without complaining or whining. The best ruck in the competition by some margin and his 7th AA says it all
  16. Whatโ€™s its say Iโ€™m not paying for their trash ๐Ÿ˜‚
  17. Seems like only yesterday Dan Houston was leaving port but the media seem to have got that very wrong - does happen regularly
  18. Could be wrong but my interpretation of Tacs silence is that he has some genuine concerns of which some it seems are shared by the club captain (not all though) He is waiting for them to either take some meaningful action to address these issues If they donโ€™t perhaps he will than publicly state he wants to be traded and then I suspect we will be told the nature of his grievances I donโ€™t agree with his tactics if this is true but the fact that Max also seems to think changes need to be made says to me that something needs to be addressed and quickly
  19. Nope
  20. Personally I just donโ€™t need any more reasons to absolutely hate Collingwood but here we are yet another one
  21. The way we are travelling atm our F1 will be pick 1 so its a no from me
  22. If all these rumours are true my question would be is there a head big enough ?
  23. So absolutely no F50 pressure then - feels like a good way to start the season - sorry but Iโ€™m just a bit jaded by the AFL and certain events atm
  24. Congrats to Jesse still a favourite as is Toby Will be there supporting them against the swans in their first final
  25. Well Iโ€™ll give them credit for not stooping that low
