  1. He is a good footballer but not sure that highlights package translates to AFL level tbh Lots of dinky kicks and handballs over his head (granted many do hit the target) - personally I still think Langford is a better option if he is still an option at our first pick Reid looks more like a slightly faster version of Spargo to me

I can understand your disappointment as I share it but tbh I think this is a bit unfair You make it sound like the team fell off a cliff after winning the flag in 2021. The reality is it won more games than any other team in 2022 and 2023 I think. Yes we lost the 4 finals but while incredibly disappointing there were some reasons. Some inaccurate kicking (all teams are guilty of this some days) and key injuries. This year was always going to be tough with losing Gus and JS before a ball was even bounced. Then to have more key players go down we were always facing an uphill battle. The reality is a few breaks go our way and top 4 could have still been possible. It is a very very even comp these days and if teams are a little bit off their game or have key injuries it has a huge impact on results. I think it’s possible for this team to bounce back into finals next year so long as we have a fully fit Trac and Oliver. Big ifs I know they will be critical to our chances. We must draft in good ball users and I hope Langford is available as he looks exactly what we need. Some smart trading would also help set us up for solid season (this has obviously been a weakness in the past couple of years with some highly questionable decisions). We need to find a solid back up for Max and some additional mid field depth. Anyone who bothered to watch Casey this season would appreciate how thin we are in the midfield. I’m still trying to remain glass half full - if the train doesn’t get back on the tracks and show signs of improvement early next season I’ll start to have my doubts then.

Maybe he was wanting a firm commitment from the club to implement some changes rather than just lip service before he said he was staying (that would make sense to me) What doesn’t make sense is for this statement of commitment to be made now when we are still weeks away from the trade period
  4. Casey were pretty poor all year and most games the ball was parked in their D50 for the majority of the game The fact he rarely if ever got into double figures in the possession count is pretty damming imo Hopefully he has a big pre season and builds some strength and confidence because both seem to be lacking at this stage

Well deserved Max - a tower of strength (literally) for this great club The thing that opposition supporters seem to forget is that all teams try to physically beat Max up every game with borderline legal tactics. The great man just keeps going about his business without complaining or whining. The best ruck in the competition by some margin and his 7th AA says it all
  6. Personally I just don’t need any more reasons to absolutely hate Collingwood but here we are yet another one

So absolutely no F50 pressure then - feels like a good way to start the season - sorry but I’m just a bit jaded by the AFL and certain events atm
  8. Congrats to Jesse still a favourite as is Toby Will be there supporting them against the swans in their first final
  9. You may be right and I hope for his sake and the clubs he starts to blossom next season.
  10. Tend to agree with this - we have struggled to recruit a genuine tall forward that can compete and score goals consistently - and nothing has changed unfortunately. We have tried to recycle tall defenders with some success, but I think most believe that is not the solution longer term. Fritta is one of the competitions best forwards when the forward 50 has space and the delivery into him is good. Our game style seems dependent on crowding the field including the forward 50 and our midfielders are some of the worst kicks in the competition. For him to get back to his we need to tweak our F50 structure and get some players capable of delivering the ball fast and with precision.
  11. If you compare him to Nate Caddy who has spent 1 year less in the AFL system you would be concerned. Caddy already shows great potential in the AFL. Too early to call bust but would need to show way more next season
  12. So fatty footballers 🤔
  13. Careful with facts and rational thought process it’s not in style atm
  14. Is that the same Rachele who’s been dumped for repeatedly not adhering to team first values ? Didn’t think we were needing that sort of contribution
  15. Petracca , Oliver, Sparrow all missing maybe explains why McVee is doing midfield time don’t you think ? We have no depth in that part of the ground and even our main starters have poor kicking skills It should be our key focus during the draft period and trading
  16. LOL how utterly pathetic
  17. Sorry your feelings are hurt petal but I’ll stick by our leading goal kicker for the last 4 years even if he is having a bad day Anyone who wants to trade him when we have few genuine forwards has rocks in their heads
  18. My god and you keep harping to get Jefferson in who is as timid as a mouse - your no supporter
  19. If you don’t hear back perhaps you’re on the list 😲
  20. I’m a bit confused 🫤 You say he’s a favourite and great player - you admit you know none of the details of the contract extension but somehow conclude it’s a bad list management decision Bizarre to say the least
  21. Jack sets standards - we need him more than ever and I’m wrapped he is happy to keep striving for another flag in red and blue
  22. Nibbler is a tricky one I think - publicly recognise he is definitely going and we lose 100% of any negotiating position What then happens if both SA clubs offer us a 4th round pick as compensation I know the MFC deals fairly on player trades but many other clubs don’t seem to
  23. I agree it’s been good for his development and having that experience will make him work even harder over the summer I saw a bit more leg speed from Kolt in this game which is encouraging - he has to work on his tank and if he can get very very fit maybe he’s our ANB replacement
  24. My question is how did he call it touched when clearly the hand was nowhere near the ball and there would be no sound - guess ? Poor umpiring imo
  25. Some very disappointing stats from that game I think a few need a chat to highlight what is required to stay on an AFL list
