  1. It is December 2024 and it was only 4 months ago that his body and form was still not adequate to get a game when effectively nothing was on the line I like every poster here likes to think that players miraculously transform in the 2 months post season end but I think we need to temper expectations - we will get a much better read on whether he can play a role in 2025 when the AFL practice matches begin - if he shows he can compete and perform then against AFL players we may have something to work on
  2. LOL 😂 sympathy from the AFL for the MFC More chance of Joe Biden winning the next US election
  3. Agree - until he kicks it - they can literally go anywhere I thought he did ok in his cameo with Casey but he is a rough diamond that will need a bit of polishing and commitment from him to stay on course Does have some raw ability that’s a fact
  4. Sparrow as a tagger is not a silly suggestion imo - we saw with James Harmes who was always at his best when given that role that some players seem to thrive thrown a challenge to nullify an opposition star Could be worth a go
  5. He wants success - that’s a good thing right ? There’s still a chance and quite possibly fairly that he was wanting standards to improve so that the club and Christian can achieve success - that’s good right ? We as supporters can pretend to know exactly what was going on but the truth is we will probably never know. I’m happy to cut him some slack on the basis that he wants what we want - a premiership at the MCG in front of the MFC faithful some of whom seem to have had their faith sorely tested I’m 100% behind him and anyone who puts our jumper on and crosses the white line
  6. Training for the Olympics? Doesn’t seem cut out to be a footballer it seems
  7. I guess the question is quality or quantity - the jury is still out on a few
  8. Cleaning out his locker or putting in the big ones in the gym ?
  9. I’m not sure many would agree with your opinion that ANB is easily replaced - time will tell This to me is another example as to why combine results are, or can be a bit misleading - Woey is not quick on the field. Rarely do you see him burst away from would be tacklers or chase someone down from behind - he’s no plodder but he ain’t quick in a match day setting He is as Binman says very dedicated and will do anything for the team but will that be enough is the question
  10. Not sure he has the leg speed This role is destined for Sharp or Chandler I’d say
  11. Hopefully he’s better than that Cox - [censored] on a bull springs to mind
  12. I took the MFC to make the 8 and Trac for Brownlow double at $69 - juicy odds if you ask me
  13. Maybe not but something tells me we are confident he will nominate us given we’ve traded next years first pick away - hopefully that’s right
  14. I think it’s dangerous to rely too much on combine results I’ve now watched enough game time of Vic Country to know that Travaglia is not slow nor for that matter is Harvey Langford (despite what the results of the combine suggest) Are they as quick as Windsor - no but their reaction time and speed over the ground is fine - I didn’t see either of them get run down from behind or fail to get to contests through lack of leg speed Travaglia is a real goer imo and deserves his draft selection at 9 he was a very consistent performer across all the Vic Country games The guy I thought might be worth our late pick was Floyd Burmeister but we obviously wanted to go with Johnson as someone that might have more impact in the next year or two given he is a mature body Don’t think we have any list spots left but Burmeister would be a better ruck forward option in the long term than Fullarton imo (taller, more mobile and shows more appetite for the contest) again just my opinion
  15. We don’t need him to play inside he’ll be our Nick Daicos receive and connect player and he is good at that now and will get better with good coaching and development He’s never going to be a bull but we already have those - what we lack is skilled connection - he will help with that I was desperate for us to recruit Tauru and was really disappointed when he went to the Saints with pick 10 - I’ve since watched several Vic Country games and while still being disappointed we missed Tauru I see why we probably need a Lindsay more
  16. Is this the reason for the one on one tackling practice?
  17. Lindsay you would think would play more of a Nick Daicos type HBF role where he runs to receive and then deliver with precision to teammates up the field Anyone thinking he’s a lock down defender who will win most 1on1 contests might be missing where his skill set is
  18. I am 100% behind Xavier and hope he has a great career but I’m 100% confident Tauru is going to be a better footballer at AFL level - time will tell I was really hoping Tauru would slip to our pick so this one is a bit bitter sweet
  19. His effort at around 3.07 minutes left a little to be desired Not seeing a lot of contested ball
  20. Assume then we’d still be able to get either Reid or Allen Personally I’d be happy with that outcome
  21. I’m still hoping we somehow land Tauru - huge upside imho
  22. Hopefully - I thought a poster recently said they had feedback from one of the coaching staff that they were concerned he may never have the intensity required to make it at AFL level He has to make an impact this season or the alarm bells will certainly be ringing
  23. I rate Reid as on par with Smith tbh if he is still available at 9 I’d say he’d be on our shortlist - other than the go home factor I still quite like Allen for 9 simply because of his size and athleticism
