  1. Dreaming. He will have a massive season and take us close to a flag! But neither Pies nor Blues even have a 2025 first pick and their 2026 and 2027 will be mid to high teens in compromised drafts so will drift out. Chances of the club trading Petracca to them are close to zero. So he stays. 🙌
  2. Oliver - he is just as important to us contending for the flag as Petracca.
  3. Some fun videos in this: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1698544/community-and-pre-season-camp-live-updates Great to see the club using youngsters in promos. Hopefully, they are on the club's social media pages as well. Kolt might be up there with Kozzie as king of the kids!
  4. On a lighterr note the club has put some good stuff on the website: Day 1 Photos https://www.melbournefc.com.au/albums/1697210/2024-community-camp-day-one?modal=true&type=gallery&playlistId=1697210&playlistSize=52 Day 2 Photos https://www.melbournefc.com.au/albums/1698489/community-camp-day-two?modal=true&type=gallery&playlistId=1698489&playlistSize=36 My favourite Reckon we could get a real Kolt following with kids (little and grown up) wearing those glasses to games. Give those silly wizard hats a run for their money.!
  5. Its embarrassing that some 'fans' are making quite derogatory and somewhat outlandish comments based on their 'vibe', 'sense' 'Trac not looking happy' or interpretations of social media. Nothing objective, yet continuing the vilification ... 'subconscious bias' perhaps.
  6. This 🤮is still available. Quite fitting for some posts in this thread.
  7. Any other observations about training or a training report for us?
  8. Apparently he has several insta accounts. Which one(s) were you looking at. Have there been many posts since the KB game. Re this: His latest posts are advertisements, him being professional on a footbal field distinctly sans ANY demons branded gear. What gear was he wearing?
  9. Kozzie = King of the Kids! Maybe he can convert those in enemy attire!
  10. Interesting. iirc Sam Graham was Gil's preferred replacement for Peter Jackson. His last two AFL positions: afl-congratulates-sam-graham COO, understudy to Greg Swann at Brisbane Lions Graham has been part of the AFL for more than 18 years, with leadership positions across Strategy and Club Services, Chief Executive of AFL NSW / ACT, AFL General Manager Game Development, and most recently on the AFL senior leadership team as General Manager Tasmanian expansion. sam-graham-appointed-ceo-of-afl-nswact An excellent background. Helps that he knows his way around and has contacts at AFL HQ! Either Fox or Graham would be excellent for us.
  11. Best wishes Andy and to any other podcaster affected.
  12. A good analysis. A couple of points: The Bluey favours players that play the most games or play relatively injury free. In any other season Petracca, Oliver and perhaps May and Lever would be higher up the board. Bowey and Salem also missed a large part of the season for those reasons. The Crows pick 28 we gave away as steak knives to Ess in the pick 9 swap. We fought hard to get better than pick 44 for Bedford. In the end we gave it away as steak knives in the Jackson trade. I don't think many undervalue ANB's contribution. But imv we don't need a player dedicated to his role: We will still have defensive midfield/forward tactics but I see roles changing as our game plan and ball movement (hopefully) become more attacking (particularly from d50 to f50 where ANB does most of his work). In the last few drafts we have added players with very good footy IQ and skilled in ball movement (McVee, Windsor and maybe Langford/Johnson). Other players eg Sparrow can protect the paths forward for Petracca etc. Our not so little dynamo Kolt, will dish out a fair amount of defensiveness and get in the face of ops. With a change of ideas from new coaches ANB's role won't be obsolete but I don't think we need to tie down one player for it. The ANB role that will be harder to replace is 'general of the fwd line'. Melksham or Chandler to cover this role until someone else steps up.
  13. The buffoons are the AFL that have so many vague rules around player categories and list management. Your count is correct for end of season changes. The difference is Kentfield was our notional 'replacement' for Brayshaw in the mid-season draft. Brayshaw remained on the list giving an overall list of 45, one over the allowed 44. So now we need to 'lose' one more than we gain to get back to 44.
  14. The first question is: Do we need someone to play that role? Methinks not! After all our game plan is changing, new players, new coaches etc.
  15. Ethan, you can't give away the answer (or at least half of it) in the thread! PM @Witches Hat first!
  16. The AFL already has with the new draft points system! The only 2025 pick with points we currently hold is our own 2nd round pick. (The Lions 3rd round pick will be pushed beyond the points value. Fourth round picks no longer carry points). Not concerned as there may well be player trades (or future pick swaps) to get the points but if Kalani goes early we won't have much, if any draft currency left. Worst case scenario is if GCS really want him and bid on him early to force us to pay top price or they get him ... ...it wouldn't be in the spirit of F/S but I've never considered Hardwick to be a fair player.
  17. I can't find definitive nor current info on that. To the best of my knowledge it includes: International Players, NGA players that aren't drafted (but NGA eligibility keeps changing) Players from other sports Players that haven't played AFL at any level for three years. Some AFL publications purport to answer your question but are woefully out of date so I've not linked them.
  18. Not quite. As AMW appears to be an A rookie we have one B rookie spot.
  19. As AMW appears to be an A Rookie the answer no, as we don't have a list spot.
  20. They are Deeeeeeelightfully Deeeeeeeeeelusional! 😁
  21. The AFL often do not date their releases so should be used with caution. That link is very old; definitely pre covid. The 2023 CBA is the current 'bible'. It runs until 2027 with adjustments as and when announced.
  22. To clarify the rookie tenure rules. Somewhere on DL it was assumed the new 5 year/10 AFL game rule does not apply to B rookies. I've found nothing from the AFL/AFLPA nor any club to support that assumption. The assumption was that, because a media report listed AMW as an A rookie, the new rule doesn't/can't apply to B rookies. That 'logic' doesn't compute as there may be other reasons AMW is no longer a B rookie eg because the club needed two B rookie spots to draft Andrew and Mentha. The status change for AMW would be a timing coincidence not because the new rule doesn't apply to B rookies.
  23. Allowed 2 B-Rookies. 2023 CBA
