		Farewell Charlie Spargo

That might be the case but Barrett didn't need to highlight it to the world. It is disrespecting Charlie.

		Farewell Charlie Spargo

Of all the mfc things he could write about he takes a veiled swipe at dear Charlie - implying his value is zero. Unbelievably mean spirited of Barrett.

		Media Madness

I wasn't referring to misogynism (altho I do wonder if he would behave similarly toward a male photographer let alone one 20+ years his senior). He has twice verbally abused that photographer of 25 years who was doing her job at the invitation of his employer. It is a workplace. The photographer's gender isn't relevant to acceptable workplace behaviour. Willy Rioli was suspended for sending a 'threatening' style text to an opp player. Smith is a repeat offender and imv should be sanctioned. There is no room for workplace bullying toward anyone.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?

I'm wary of the so called Cat's culture. It relies on the local media turning a blind eye to what happens down that way. And, let's not forget the mates their CEO Steve Hocking still has at AFL House. Their success is in part due to favourable fixtures at kitty park that almost guarantee making finals. Once there to their credit they know how to win and Scott is an outstanding coach to make the most of the opportunity. All that will not easily translate to good results at the dees or anywhere else. It might but wouldn't rely on it when choosing our coach.

		Assistant Coaches in 2026

Tigers chasing Chaplin. richmond-tigers-chase-demons-caretaker-troy-chaplin-to-join-coaching-panel Its been reported elsewhere that Radford going to Eagles and Bassett may go back to SA. Potentially, Nathan Jones the only coach left. The new senior coach can choose his own team.

		Media Madness

Given suspensions for other types of anti-social behaviour and offensive comments he should be suspended. A repeat offender both on 'the bird' and verbal abuse of this particular photographer. But he plays for Geelong and is in Brownlow contention. It will be another double standard of the AFL rules applying to some and not others. For once I hope the media defies its complicity with the AFL and turns up the heat for a suspension.

Edmund has been singing that tune for a few days and doesn't back it up, not even with an unauthorised source reference. He is playing the 'echo chamber' game.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026

I can only find the Max video on club website. Wouldn't mind seeing the Petracca one to see what the fuss, if there is a fuss, is about. Anyone have a link?

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?

I've been a fan of Caro even if I don't agree with her opnions.. Usually she is reasonably measured about mfc but lately her comments are laced with emotive vitriol and bitterness. She should stop trying for click bait headlines! It isn't her go.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026

Me to! Imagine the meltdown if he wins the NSM at another club or even plays a major role in another club's premiership. To people wanting him traded: Careful what you wish for!

		2025 Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy

Eight players get Life Membership melbournefc.com.auLife Membership | Eight Demons earn honourEight Demons have been recognised at the Keith ‘Bluey’ Truscott Memorial Trophy, receiving life membership for their service to the red and blue.Well done all! What has gone under the radar is that two of them are Petracca and Oliver. It will be a bit weird if either leaves this year. Maybe the club got in early just in case either does.

		2025 Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy

Why single out Salem! Your comment on Salem is fair only if you note all averages. In fact Salem's average was ahead of Langdon, Langford, Viney Chandler and Olliver. On averages only Max, Petracca, Kozzie and Bowey rated a pass mark.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?

For me it isn't whether Buckley is the best person. The issue is the unbecoming way the AFL is putting lots of mayo on the Tassie job to stop him joining mfc (if he is offered it). And to create a blatant campaign by Caroline Wilson is very poor. Also, I'm not fussed that he hasn't won a premiership. Right now regular top 4, PF, occasional GF are looking pretty good to me!

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?

Tassie pulling out all stops to get Buckley involved next year. AFL appears to bring fwd VFL and VFLW start up to 2026 tasmania-to-enter-vfl-and-vflw-in-2026 They are also dangling a carrot: monday-cal-culations-finals-make-heroes-history-looms-for-nick-daicos-how-josh-dunkley-trade-call-shaped-three-clubs "But in the background, the Devils are also dangling the keys. "The opportunity to be Tasmania's first senior coach will be on Buckley's mind, with the possibility of a flexible start-up plan next year allowing for his media commitments before taking on the role permanently down the track ahead of the Devils' proposed 2028 start in the AFL". "...its start-up list rules should be officially announced later this month and it is getting more commercial support off-field and adding staff internally'. tbh, I find the AFL's campaign effectively working against MFC's interest very distasteful. They have sunk to a new low imv.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?

It would be a shock if a potential coach didn't do a 'stack of research'! Nothing to back up his opnion - not even a reference to a rumour or 'parties not authorised to speak'. He has no idea! Its a perfect example of the media 'echo chamber'!!
-

		Selwyn Griffiths

That could be the case. FD contracts usually expire at the end of October, certainly not before end of Sept by which time we will have a coach.
