I doubt it as he joined DL nearly 20 years ago!! He knows exactly what he is doing and it is an odd and sad way to amuse oneself.

Sorry pal, you aren't going to rope me into your merry dance of red herrings !!! Bye !!!

🤣🤣🤣 Can't support or explain your assumptions so resort to ridicule !!! The ridicule says more about you than the people you target. It is not flattering to you.
  4. Thank for info and an interesting offer. I can see Port wanting to put pressure on Crows to take Draper or swoop to get him. Given 13 will become 14/15/16 ++++ it is way less than what we gave up to get 9. So can't see it happening. Better deals to be had elsewhere if we want to slide out of 9

'Rubbish' = Hyperbole! At least back it up with something specific! The verbs I used do not imply any 'super human abilities'. To me they are standard actions of 'change management' which is what I see Green's role has been and will hopefully continue to be. If you think they are 'super human abilities' it is an assumption on your part. My post did not imply nor intend that Green did it all. It is another assumption on your part. A 'change manager' by definition does not act unilaterally. As an aside, your retorts to some posters in this thread have become tedious and add little to the discussion. After a while it sounds like Tr-lling ... 🤷‍♀️

Brad's achievements in a few short months. Seamless and bloodless transition to lead the Board Drove the FD and Board reviews (and will oversee their implementation) Negotiated the departure of our CEO Facilitated the arrival of Steve Smith (pending voting) and succession plan to be the next Board leader Ended the off-field legal dramas taking the unwarranted heat of our coach and our club. In a few short months he has neutralised the topics creating negative media attention. 👏👏👏 I will confess I was a bit 'meh' when he joined the Board and thought replacing Roffey was just window dressing. I was very very wrong! If he does nothing else he has been incredibly successful in laying the foundations for our stability, growth and success. Change management is one of the hardest things for any organisation to undertake and Brad hasn't put a foot wrong.
  7. The MFC and our former President Glen Bartlett have buried the hatchet! Not specifically part of the review but a great step forward demons-settle-with-glen-bartlett-apologise-to-simon-goodwin The Joint Statement: The Board of the Melbourne Football Club, Mr GB and Ms VS, are pleased to announce that all proceedings between them have been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. A confidential settlement has been entered into between the parties to avoid the costs of litigation for all. Individual recollections and perspectives can differ and lead to many feeling aggrieved. The parties recognise that the last three years of dispute have been a difficult and stressful time for all and acknowledge that the matter could have been handled differently. All parties are sorry for the hurt that has been caused. The Board acknowledges and thanks Glen for the important role he played as President, having overseen the resurgence in the Club’s fortunes. Glen focused on cultural change including the development of the Club values, now known as “TRUE”, of Trust, Respect, Unity and Excellence which are reflective of values based leadership. Glen is proud of the improvements he introduced to the Club as President. During the period in which GB was the Club’s President, serious allegations about Simon Goodwin’s use of illicit drugs were passed onto and duly investigated by the Club. It was found that the allegations were false and had no basis in fact. These allegations have caused enormous hurt and pain for Simon and his family for which all parties are deeply sorry. This brings these matters to an end for all time. Simon Goodwin is a highly regarded and respected Demons premiership coach. The Board and GB agree that focussing on the future of the Club and particularly the welfare of its people is the most important priority. The Board and Glen look forward to the future including the continued success of the club. (names to show only initials). Huge kudos to Brad Green and Co to achieve what seems a major breakthrough. The club can now move forward with a truly fresh start off the field without distractions. 2025 - a year to let our football to do the talking!
  8. We have a third pick ND83 which will come in to about 55-65 after academy and f/s bid matches. JT rarely uses picks that late but there may be a smokey he has his eye on. We also have one A rookie spot. No idea what that means for Yze jnr.
  9. Firstly, I don't like how he drew attention to club issues but 'ruined our trade period'...? I assume that refers to Houston as I don't recall any other 'biggish' names linked to us that we missed out on. Port would have demanded ND#5 or it be a major part of the trade ... they had very little in picks to give back to us or give us a decent player. tbh I'd much rather let JT do his thing and get a gun kid with pick 5 than have Houston for 3-4 good years (plus some picks we wouldn't use or a depth player)
  10. I also recall some friction in the coach's box. As an aside, the only years we have have made the 8 is when we had a strategy coach: Jennings (2018) and Yze (2021 - 2023). Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not ... 🤔 I'm 100% with you and @FreedFromDesire for a strategy coach especially with such inexperience midfield coaches and the absence of a ball-movement coach. ...anyone know if we have a ruck coach...?
  11. WCE can offer a fab package for Saints ND8. In 2025 they have their own 1st, 2nd, 3rd round picks as well as Hawks 1st, 2nd and 3rd. WCE can trade 2025 picks back into 2024 to satisfy Saints if that is what they want. What a 'death ride' the Hawks will be for WCE fans!!
  12. Questionable ... 🤔
  13. Mentioned in the Pert thread at the time the missing 🤔 was discussed. I would say the 🤮is more a problem than 🤔. The latter makes me laugh whenever @beelzebub uses it which is all.the.time. He will be lost without it ...
  14. That is hilarious! I see you have read about his love of the 🤔emoji!
  15. Is that a rhetorical question for the reporters or a trick question for me ...?
  16. 🤔Keep reading, bb
  17. A summary: On Smith (old news) “If elected I can hopefully help with stability of the club generally, with players, the board, sponsors. I am much more comfortable doing it now with [president] Brad [Green] there and then have an orderly transition.” On Goodwin Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin has been urged to lighten up in his dealings with players A football department review to be released on Friday found the events of the past 12 months had weighed heavily on Goodwin, making him intense and stressed around players, according to two sources familiar with the findings who were not authorised to speak publicly. The sources said Goodwin welcomed the recognition of the burden he had been carrying and agreed with the sentiment to try to ease his stress. The review reinforced that the players still held the 2021 premiership coach in high regard and wanted him to have the support needed to perform at his best. On Richardson The review recommends a tweaking of roles within the football department and a shift in the focus of high-performance manager Alan Richardson. Former New Zealand All Blacks manager Darren Shand, who helped lead the review, will have a mentoring role in managing the way Richardson deals with the team, coach and the rest of the department. The rest of the article is a repeat of the Pert article earlier today and discussed in the Pert thread. The above are reports which may not align in accuracy or context with the acutual findings. If they are accurate: I'm very pleased Goodwin will get the support the players think he needs and he is open to receiving I'm surprised that Richardson is getting a 'mentor' after so many years in the game. But not surprised as I have said elsewhere he was a poor choice for GM of FD.
  18. Sadly, the news is again coming from leaks. I would think only a small number of people would have access to the results and they shouldn't be leaking this stuff. Anyway, here is an initial report from 'journalists' with another misleading title Goodwin urged to ‘lighten up’ amid major Demons leadership overhaul. theage.com Mods may want to move this to the Pert thread but as the report findings are to be released tomorrow a new thread might be appropriate as the findings will be broader than Pert's departure. I will post a summary shortly as it may take some time to compile

The heart wrenching impact of Jack's passing on friends and all those he touched in his all to short life. Perhaps best summed up in this comment: “Jack was exactly the sort of child you would dream up if you were conjuring a perfect friend for your own beloved child.“[His death] has broken my son’s heart. It has robbed our community of a future natural-born leader, and a damn decent kid who shone so brightly you could just about see his halo.” a-shooting-star-who-blessed-us-for-11-years-with-love-dad It speaks volumes to a great kid and a wonderful, courageous family. My heart bleeds for them 💔 And for @Sideshow Bob who posted above that his son and Jack played in the same team 💔
  20. I read it the same way. But there is no real link other than timing between Pert going and Petracca 'breaking his silence'. I would be appalled if he commented on our CEO's departure and do not think that is what he was doing. The title itself (Gary Pert quits as Melbourne CEO, Petracca breaks his silence) is somewhat misleading. They could have written the Petracca story in a much more positive way which imv is a good news story ie he is back in the public eye, doing his job for the AFL, the Club and sponsors.
  21. I've been overseas so haven't read DL for a while to notice. It is weird as he used it on a number of my posts in this thread which is what prompted me to ask, tease him a little and dish out some cheek 😊 So perhaps it is a glich of some sort because as @beelzebub 's emoji reactions have disappeared from my notifications feed.
  22. haha! Maybe the mods removed it. If so I fear for @beelzebub 's well being
  23. Good Lord!!! Maybe @beelzebub pinched them all ...
  24. Don't bother. The Age reporters have taken past comments by Petracca and current comments by him and somehow weaved it into the Pert story. Any connection is tenuous and is mere timing. It is really disappointing that the more reputable AFL reporters are stooping to such low tactics. The positive of the story for me is that Petracca is back in the public eye for the first time, performing promotional work and being interviewed. All are important steps steps in his trauma recovery. I just hope that article doesn't derail this thread or bring out the anti Petracca brigade.
  25. Believe it or not the emoji has disappeared from my emoji options. Did you pinch it, bb ...
