  1. Wrong. He played decent footy for GWS as a fwd for periods in 2014 & 2018 - check out his youtube highlights. He kicked over 35 goals for them. With Cam McCarthy, Finlayson, Jeremy Cameron, Himmelberg, Lobb & later Riccardi he had a lot of competition for a key fwd spot.
  2. Great athlete but needs games under his belt & learn some footy "smarts" ie don't overcommit & learn how to corral opponents. Charlie Cameron really cleaned him up in that final. Hope he has some luck injury wise next year.
  3. Dunno what happened here. I saw a couple of his Casey games & thought he was an absolute gun. Smooth, always seemed to have time, lovely disposal, quick & versatile. Something obviously went wrong - maybe he didn't listen to the coaches or had attitude problems.
  4. Here we go again. Petty is a natural defender. Tattoo it on your forehead. He is a Defender. Tomlinson would be a much better option as a forward. He played some very good games for GWS as a marking fwd.
  5. You are a poor judge. Tomlinson was pretty much clueless on the wing. Looked by being a failed recruit until they put him in defence.
  6. RDB would be a gun in today's game. He would be an inside bull. An Ollie Wines clone.
  7. I saw Tassie Johnson play and I reckon he is the fullback ahead of May. May needs to play 2 more years of good football to displace him.
  8. Melk played some great footy for us but his form dropped off particularly in 2021. Despite this he seemed to have a charmed life & kept getting selected & this grated on supporters. If he wants to play he needs to get more touches & especially make more tackles.
  9. Disagree. GF's should be umpired the same as any other game. Under your scenario the spoil on Ben Brown would have been play on & not paid a free. As for JJ - that was a clear mark - Jeff White took speccies like that his whole career.
  10. Well done. Thought he had a shaky start to the year but improved and was pretty consistent. Needs to keep working hard as will have Bedford & Chandler (& maybe Laurie) snapping at his heels. I wonder whether he will eventually find his niche further up the ground or in the midfield ?
  11. To suggest that no luck is involved in avoiding injuries sounds plain silly to me. Sure fitness & the medicos & rehab people play a role but look at Richmond they won 2 flags with barely any injuries in their AFL & VFL teams then this year they had a swag of injuries & their teams struggled.
  12. I thought Viney & Brayshaw were struggling to make an impact in the last 3rd of the season but both came good at the right time & both had outstanding finals' series. Jack in particular has that touch of mongrel that every premiership team needs.
  13. Anyone heard what's happening with him ? I was very impressed with the small bits I saw of him at Casey. Had pace, clean ball use & good disposal. I'll be surprised if we don't keep him on the list.
  14. Should have been AA ahead of Bailey Dale. Had a better season, got more disposals, marks & had twice as many tackles per game. Selectors probably worried there were too many Demons in the AA team.
  15. Yes there seemed to be some shenanigans around his concussion & his contract & retirement. Think he maybe played 2 or 3 good games for us.
  16. I've watched him at Casey & he has been a lot better than average. In fact has played some really good footy for them. Unlucky not to get more chances this year. Just needs to improve his disposal.
  17. He must have been tough. I recall Lou Richards on World of Sport complaining that when he played against Melbourne Noel used to rough up the Collingwood players.
  18. Only got the 1 game v North where he got 15 touches & went ok. Will struggle as a winger as Brayshaw & Langdon have the wings sewn up.
  19. ANB & Spargo (like Melksham last year) certainly benefited from the coach backing them to the hilt & giving them every opportunity and good luck to them. Spargo has had a golden run. If Chandler or Bedford had got the same opportunities I reckon they could have had Premiership medallions as well.
  20. Neiter is 46 years old - doubt he would have got in ahead of BBrown
  21. This was about players who over the last 10-12 years left the Club for whatever reason but had they stayed might have played in a Premiership side. I reckon the cut off age is 35 therefore Brock Mclean & Jeremy Howe is are the ones I missed.
  22. I made a list of former players who could have a premiership medallion if they had made different choices and/or if things had turned out differently for them: Tom Scully, Jack Trengove, Jack Grimes, Jack Watts, Mitch Clark, Liam Jurrah, Jeff Garlett, Harry Lumumba, Jessie Hogan, Dean Kent, Mitch Hannan, Sam Frost, Stefan Martin. Special mention to Isaac Smith for picking Geelong.
  23. Yes he did. Wrote that senior players came to him requesting Skilton be removed. He passed this on to the committee, Skilton found out, blamed Alves & demanded he be sacked. The Club backed the coach & that was it. I loved Alves, my favourite player till Robbie came. A champion & regular state rep.
  24. I like a good redemption story unlike some of the Demonland lynch mob. Most young people stuff up at times. If he is genuine about learning from his mistakes I'm happy to give him a go. Would need a mentor & a tight leash.
