  1. Verrall tried hard but he got monstered most games by physically stronger B grade ruckmen & if he cannot overcome that issue he will struggle to make it.
  2. Casey was woefully top heavy this year. A surplus of big logs & a lack of midfield talent & leg speed both in defence & out wide. A dominant ruckman would also be handy.
  3. Go Peter Lawrence - you have the full support of lots of Demons supporters as well as MFC members. More power to you.
  4. Go Peter Lawrence. More power to you.
  5. Go Peter Lawrence
  6. Has Peter Lawrence got a GoFundMe page because I would donate to help pay his legal costs
  7. Typical comment from someone running a protection racket for the "Old boys & girls closed shop"
  8. Didn’t think I'd ever agree with you but you are correct. It would never have come to this if the Club was more open instead of hiding behind technicalities. Its gone from being an old boys network to an old boys & girls network. More power to Peter.
  9. The old time players don’t get a fair rating. There is little or no film of players like Warne Smith, Norm Smith & Cordner.
  10. Not sure what 2018 has got to do with anything. Needs to be judged over the full season including the West Coast capitulation, the Freo disaster & that he regularly gets outcoached by Voss & Longmuir.
  11. In other words you cannot name any other ruckmen, apart from those I mentioned, that played footy after 35 ?
  12. Not vibes. I can actually name 4 ruckmen out of say 500 I've seen in my lifetime that played at the highest level after 35. That makes it less than 1%. It's easy Binman just name off the top of your head the other 20 or 30 ruckmen who played good footy at 35+.
  13. No he was not. He was a handy player who played some very good games & got the most out of himself.
  14. The data is anecdotal. Of the many hundreds of ruckmen I have seen since the 1960's who was still running around at AFL level at 35 ? I can think of very few Salmon, Mumford, Sandilands, Goldstein. Even tough stalwarts like Stynes & Ditterich were cooked by then. If you know of others feel free to tell us.
  15. You are the only charlatan here, ignoring most points I made & selectively picking the first Lions game. In the 2nd one he struggled with McInerney. If you think he's had a great year you are deluded. I didn't even mention round 1 where Grundy pantsed him. And let's not talk about the goal kicking which is embarrassing for an AFL player.
  16. His 2024 has been up & down. He struggled against Xerri, McInererey & Briggs. He insists on playing when injured or unwell sometimes to the detriment of the team and he still can't be relied on to kick goals even 30m out directly in front. Statistically very few ruckmen are any good after 33.
  17. I agree. 3 year deal at his age is great for Max not for MFC. His insistence on playing when injured has been detrimental to the Club. We need to bring on some new young ruckmen.
  18. I really wish George on the Outer did more reviews & match reports. He tended to be much more critical than some who seem to run a protection racket for Club officials & players.
  19. 1956 Actually & I've only seen the 2021 Premiership. In the same time I've seen the Hawks go from rubbish to winning flags go to the bottom again have another re build, win more flags, become rubbish again then go past us in another rebuild. In the modern era they've won maybe 11 premierships to our 1 & it happens partly because their members & supporters are a lot more demanding than our lot.
  20. I think my posts are quiet balanced & offset the apologists on here who are always looking for excuses for underperforming players, coaches or MFC officials. Part of the reason for our lack of success since the Norm Smith era is the army of sycophantic supporters always ready to trot out excuses for underperforming instead of demanding accountability.
  21. I think most of the criticism of Clarry has been justified and mostly quiet objective. He has been disappointing, he knows he has a reputation for illegal handball yet keeps on doing it. His delivery & kicking this year have been poor. He gets sucked into giving away dumb free kicks. His poor turnover arguably cost us the Port game. He got paid a massive amount and was poor this year and those are called facts.
  22. The Club backs Trac 100% - that's usually a guarantee that he's gorn for all money 😂😂
  23. Kate & the Board have been virtually invisible this year. Very disappointing.
  24. Jackson seems to play 2-3 outstanding games each year & can be spectacular but lacks consistency.
