  1. I'd have thought that by any objective measure the last 3 years of trading has been disastrous. By what measure can trading in 6 players to our list who cannot get a regular game be judged a good outcome.
  2. Geelong traded in Henry, Bowes, Stengle, Bruhn (not to mention Humphrey's & Mannagh both picked up for zilch) Hawks traded in Meek, Ginnivan, Amon, Dambrosio Dees traded in Dunstan, Schache, Hunter, Billings Fullarton McAdam Spot the odd one out.
  3. Has been a regular pest when he plays us. Sign him up.
  4. Just using your list manager "hindsight" excuse which you, apparently don't understand.
  5. Think you are obfuscating. Our drafting has been great, our trading putrid. Spend 5 minutes reviewing Hawthorn & Geelong's recent trading compared to ours & you will feel sick. Whoever is responsible for the trading decisions of the last 3 years whether that's the list manager or not should be sacked.
  6. So according to your hindsight theory Neeld was a great coach but shouldn't be judged on results because the "in hindsight" rule applies & no one could have done better.
  7. Really silly posting Werridee. Drafting and Trading are totally different. We have totally stuffed up our trading for 3 consecutive years. Go through the Hawthorn & Geelong senior lists & you will find that smart player trading is behind the finals success of both Clubs.
  8. Owies yes - Kennedy a spud No way
  9. So you don't think a list manager impacts a team's performance. That's an interesting view. You bang on about hindsight which I would suggest actually means results or outcomes or maybe you don't think list managers need to achieve anything. 3 years of trading disasters while Hawthorn & Geelong top their teams up with clever trading.
  10. It's not about cost. It's about list management to improve player depth. We used to be good at it with Cross, Vince,Hibberd & Melksham. The last 3 years of trading have been a train wreck & made our list worse. Look at Hawthorn who brought in Meek, Ginnivan, Amon & D'ambrosio for very little cost just clever trading. Lamb should go now - don't need an enquiry.
  11. Correct. The back up players we have traded in the last 3 years have been disasters. Bust after bust. Compare that to Hawks & Cats whose player trading has been very good. Need a new list manager.
  12. The only way you would sign him is as a rookie on peanuts with $ only earned for senior games.
  13. And sadly one of the softest players on the list.
  14. And yet Sam Mitchell sings his praises & now the Hawks are in the finals & have one of the best defences. Think that says it all about our coaching & development and your judgement.
  15. That's complete BS. We didn't move him on we only offered him 2 years & Hawks offered 3. Check out his 2018 stats - he had a very good year & was one of our best defenders.
  16. Joe has a very interesting history. I wouldn't be taking any advice from him on football matters. What next ? Getting Cam Schwab back as an advisor !!
  17. Need to stop recruiting B grade players at the end of their careers. Follow the Hawthorn & Cats strategy & get quality players who are struggling to get a game due to oversupply, have salary pressures or want to return home. They can be picked up cheap.
  18. List Management & player trading should make the team better. The last 3 years have made it worse. Whoever is responsible should go.
  19. I'll remember Kate as an average plodder who used all the management cliches & buzzwords. She showed good sense to resign when she did.
  20. Typical intelligent response. You might reflect that it's actually possible to applaud intelligent decisions and criticise faulty ones. May & Lever were great but when I'm told Frost is no loss because we've got Oscar McD I seriously wonder about their judgement. And I would suggest that history has judged me & Frost to be correct.

  22. Good luck to him. Back when it was rumoured he was leaving I rang the Club to complain because I thought he was one of our best tall defenders despite the occasional brain fade. I was told not to worry because Oscar McDonald was improving & he & Tomlinson provided adequate cover. I was & still am very sorry to have lost him. I think he wanted 3 years & we only offered 2.
  23. That isn't the point. List management is supposed to improve the list not make it worse. Trading out Hunt, Bedford, Harmes & Jordon & trading in Schache, Dunstan, Fullarton & Billings has made us demonstrably worse. Go through the Hawthorn side & you can see that their trading has been brilliant. They have brought in 5-6 traded players who have taken them to the finals this year. Trading & list management is an art form that can make or break a Club & ours has been dreadful recently.
  24. When you add Dunstan, Schache, Fullarton & Billings to our recent trading it means disastrous list management. Its a net loss when you consider who we traded out. We should be asking questions of who was responsible.
  25. Get Jordan Lewis & Nathan Jones to talk to everyone involved, look at communication, game plan, list management, recruitment, player development, fitness, etc & produce a 2 page report with recommendations. Should take about 2 weeks.
