With Hunter out maybe they could try Turner on a wing. He has decent pace & uses the ball well.
-
Yes its all pretty p!$$ poor from MFC. Casey are pretty much ignored. There should be dedicated regular update on what's happening at Casey. Its embarrassing that people get more information about Casey from Demonland than from MFC.

Hawks racism allegations (merged thread)
Cranky Franky replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Unfortunately whenever there is a hint of racism around things tend to amp up in a big way & sometimes fairness, evidence & rationality goes out the window. -
You are kidding - It was Hunter's best game for us.
-
Jordon's achilles was his excessive caution when he got posession, he often killed the team momentum. This year he has improved & has played pretty well but last week he was poor & has paid the price.
-
I doubt that. Ballard stayed down because he told the trainers that he had heard something crack so as a precaution they immobilised him & got the stretcher.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND: DANIEL TURNER
Cranky Franky replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree the coaching match ups were dreadful. Casboult is one of the strongest marking players in the comp. Obvious match up was May. Thought Turner was ok & needs to be given 3-4 consecutive games. -
Yes I bought one. Have no idea what happened to it. Think we also got a small plastic copy of the tile.
-
Goodie has been adamant several times that players will not be selected unless they are 100% fit -lets hope the BT keeps to this & make the same mistakes they made in 2022.
-
I'm very surprised at the lack of criticism of the match day coaching which almost cost us the game. May was the obvious opponent for Casboult not a 1 game player giving away height & weight & Petty the obvious match for King. Really dumb coaching.

The correct answer is "sorry I got it wrong & Chol has been quite an effective forward for GC"

Does Kade make the grade, or will it be Chandlermonium
Cranky Franky replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
This just highlights what a stupid error our brains trust made last year ignoring a number of players killing it at Casey. We'll never know but it may have cost us a flag in 2022. -
I'd like to know why he had a brain fade & got sucked in by Buddy last year.
-
Nice work George. I recall being very surprised when Jamie Duursma stopped Kernahan from dominating all those years ago.
-
Never seen so much love for such an average plodder. Should have been dropped about the middle of last year.
-
Clearly a great clubman but as a player doesn’t inspire me & I would happily sacrifice him to keep better players. Rarely plays well when the team is struggling but always dominates after we get on top & are cruising.
-
Dunstan has a solid body of work going back to last year. I reckon he should get 2-3 games on the trot. Sparrow (along with ANB) seems to be a protected species. I like him but he is one of the " second stringers" that always goes missing when we play poorly.
-
BBB, TMac & Tommo all struggled & at times their fumbles were embarrassing. Given all 3 have struggled to hold down a spot in the last year or so you would think all 3 are at the crossroads.
-
He was somewhere between solid & good - nowhere near outstanding.
-
Yes and a real shame he wasn't given any opportunities by our BT in 21 & 22.
-
Don't think Wayne Gordon won a B&F. Baker certainly did.
-
Apparently the Council stopped some of the games being played in town due to a range of problems including violence. Instead of threatening to move the game the AFL should talk to the Council & the NT government & local community groups & look at some solutions to the main issue.
-
You totally missed the point. Which was that Baker was good enough to play AFL in 2022 and if the selectors had rested injured & non performing players & given Baker, Dunstan, Chandler, Bedford & others some well deserved games then maybe we would have done better in 2022.
-
Just like to take this opportunity to let the armchair experts who canned Baker during Demonland debates know they were wrong. About a quarter of posters felt he should be given more games but the majority whined about his disposal among other things. Picked in the first 5 games & playing ok demonstrates he should have been given a go in 2022 (along with several others).

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
Cranky Franky replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep that is a major part of their problem but they still haven’t woken up to it. Look at the record - Cam McCarthy, Harley Bennell, Jesse Hogan, Des Headland (not a total fail but he was disappointing), now Jackson & Col Sylvia was the icing on the cake. Until Freo learns to target players they actually need they will be a dud side.
