Welcome Back to Demonland Marty Hore
Fair enough but I don't think he qualifies for 2 stints at the Club.

Welcome Back to Demonland Marty Hore
1954 ???? Wikipedia says after playing for Hamilton he finished his career at Coleraine in 1953 so I'm surprised to hear of an attempted comeback in 54 at 33 years of age - sources ????

2023 Player Reviews: #25 Tom McDonald
To be fair in 2023 the coaching panel did fix up some aspects of our game however I agree the coaching is generally conservative & inflexible. I can't think of anything stupider than bringing in 2 talls for a wet game in Alice Springs.

2023 Player Reviews: #25 Tom McDonald
Goody & the selectors have been extremely inflexible, risk averse & conservative in the last 2 years. When a selection option is available they always go for the tried & safe option. The dumbest selections in 23 were dropping Tommo after the KB game and bringing in 2 talls in Grundy & BBB on a soaking wet day in the Alice.

A FINAL NOD TO RON by Whispering Jack
Lovely bit of writing there. And by all accounts he was a modest person & didn't have tickets on himself. A great loss for Australia.

2023 Player Reviews: #25 Tom McDonald
Blame Goodwin for picking him when he had the option of Schache & Grundy. We chose to give Tom a contract till 2024 so we wear it.

2023 Player Reviews: #25 Tom McDonald
He's still handy to have as depth even if he mainly plays at Casey. Can pinch hit in the ruck or any key position. Great team player & always gives 100%.

2023 Player Reviews: #12 Lachie Hunter
He was ok but has lost a yard of pace. Overused the ball at times. Hopefully he will be challenged for his spot by a youngster.

Changing A Light Bulb On Demonland
1 Post Modern Historian to tell us light bulbs are a European construct and therefore responsible for the evils of colonialism and that the PM should make a public apology for the use of light bulbs.

2023 Player Reviews: #19 Josh Schache
Spot on. Unfortunately it seems that "mongrel" or even desperation on the field cannot be taught. You either have it or you dont. If he could even learn to play with the desperation of ANB or McVee he would be fine. However he's one of those players that lopes around half arsed & will never do the desperate 1 percenters.

2023 Player Reviews: #21 Matt Jefferson
I certainly hope he's not another Cook but I was pretty underwhelmed by his first year.

Can't sugar-coated that. Pretty dismal efforts for a high pick after a full season in the VFL.

2023 Player Reviews: #21 Matt Jefferson
Watched him several times & didn't see much to enthuse about. Seemed to cruise around, lacked aggression & not much 2nd or 3rd efforts. Ineffective when the ball hits the ground. Needs to lead much more not just once & then jog back.

Agree 100%. Underutilised in 2022 & 2023.

Ted Fidge’s Health
The AFL had an opportunity to make a stand after the Angus Brayshaw incident. They should've clearly stated that the player initiating the tackle or smother has a clear duty of care and that Maynard's action was unacceptable. Shamefully but typically they squibbed it.

How did you become a Demon?
Interesting story Beetle. I grew up in Dandenong in the early 60’s & followed the mighty redlegs. They wore the same jumpers as the Dees so it was an easy decision. Geez Dandy had some great players - Alan Morrow, Hughie Mitchell, Rodney Evans, Frosty Miller et al.

2023 Player Reviews: #4 James Harmes
Sadly lost his mojo in 2023. Stopped hitting the scoreboard & seemed to lose his aggression & niggle.

Welcome Back to Demonland Marty Hore
Yes and the reason was injury. That's why we let him go. Its actually a very smart list management decision. We need experienced players at Casey mentoring the kids & keeping the seconds team competitive.

Welcome Back to Demonland Marty Hore
Thats a snide little put down for someone who averages 16 disposals & 5 marks when he played for us.

Welcome Back to Demonland Marty Hore
Can't believe the negative nonsense written about Marty Hore by posters. He is a very handy signing. He has good skills & can fill in wing, or in defence & only injury prevented him becoming a permanent player last time round. He'll also be an ideal player at Casey.

Ruck depth
There's Tom McDonald & Tomlinson at a pinch. Last year we won a game with Weideman & Mitch Brown rucking.

Welcome Back to Demonland Marty Hore
So to summarise- you believe that if Max is injured the Club plans to play Trac & Joel Smith in the ruck ! Not sure on what basis you dreamed that up but it is patently adsurd. You may as well say that if May is injured there is a left field plan to replace him with Oliver.
