Yep. They increased it by two, but the 4th year is contingent on games played in the other 3. Although, as someone pointed out , if they cant get him up in year 2 heā€™ll just be retired most likely anyway... so risk isnā€™t as big as it sounds. Still reckon heā€™ll ā€œmiraculouslyā€ be there round 1 but weā€™ll see. Im concerned about how much power the players have now in general at trade time tbh. Someone needs to be looking after the overall health of the clubs and the equality of the comp. players as individuals or player managers have no such care.
  2. Its one of the intrigues of 2019 for us...especially how he was playing for us at the end of the year. For mine, I play him over Omac. But theres pros and cons in that and I think its going to work itself out over the pre season.
  3. People were crapping themselves about Melksham...and still going on about Lever. No doubt we'll be hearing about Hogan and May for the next 2 years also. Meantime the dees are going to give the 2019 flag a real shot. For mine our football club is in very good hands.

Scully understands lying and subterfuge to get where he wants (or get paid the most) better than most. It would b of zero surprise to me to see him play 16 plus games next year. This deal should 100% be investigated by the AFL. Donā€™t accept anything said about his ankle on face value..Scummy is as crooked as they come.
  5. Herald sun P-man 1h agoOctober 16, 2018HIGHLIGHT Jesse Hogan update Alistair Paton Jay Clark reports Jesse Hoganā€™s management has refuted a report that the forward asked for an $8 million, eight-year deal to join Fremantle.
  6. ouch!
  7. Jesse hogans management reporting that they never asked for an 8 year deal?? what the actual [censored] is going on. My first thought. Perhaps that invention puts the heat on jesses manager and takes it off Jesse's so called character issues. So that if they dont get Jesse this year they can minimise the damage they may have caused him if they go again next year? Perhaps Freo were looking for a an explanation to give to fans. Perhaps someone is just spilling bullship stories. Jesse's manager coming out and denying it outs the heat back on them.
  8. Completely agree. Really a wierd article . This little excerpt says it all "Hogan stands to make approximately $900,000 next year at the Demons so a jump into seven figures is not overly significant, but the Dockers began to smell a rat when Melbourne then came and asked for two first round selections as well." I mean what did they expect? Jesse has been greedy in going for that length of contract...but Freo could easily say to his manager "nope its strictly 4" without getting into ANY haggling with the MFC itself.
  9. I think you may well be right..but Im not sure that "decision" is or was entirely in the clubs hands chook. Hogan has had a big say in this.
  10. Would love to see them get bitten by this. Although in truth that may already have happened. I cant see their players would be loving what the club is doing at the moment...really has an amateur hour look to it. Doesnt bode well for club morale. IF ( and its a big if) Hogan and Lobb do get there...its not a great way to start is it. Welcome to the club boys.
  11. someone suggested earlier that Hogan had been told he'd be training with the backs for 2019 and as such he wanted to look at other options. But Im surprised if the "go home" factor is totally absent and that he would be remotely open to going to the suns. Hard to believe that report.
  12. lol... its a strange one isnt it. Every 5 pages or so the same comment would come up on this thread as well. its the lie that never dies!
  13. For all of those wondering how Jesse will fit back in given he flirted with Freo, imagine how it will be for Neale and Freo if they donā€™t trade him. Neale has publically come out and said I donā€™t want to be at Freo next year! AND heā€™s a free agent at the end of 19. Itā€™s way worse fr Freo and Neale than the dees and hogan. Not out of the realms of possibility, if Bell doesnā€™t trade him, that Neale consider sitting out fr the year. Hogan having an outstanding year, and Freo finishing bottom 3 with no Neale or hogan would be too delicious .
  14. what are they saying?
  15. If I were Jesse I would think that wraps up any thought of playing for Freo ever now. If they dont value him or want him then we all move on and they can stop bugging him every year. Imagine for a moment if Jesse is playing well next year and in the top 3 or 4 goalkickers...and the dees are in the top four. Imagine how dispirited the players at Freo will feel about this and how stupid Bell will feel. Plus they have dicked around the trade period for a week...joke of a club. Jesse to Freo is over for GOOD now. Jesse to WC might be in play next year more likely for players than picks or a mix. But lets see if we can Jesse back up and about after his foot injury and stamp his name as a dominant key forward.
  16. Ok..but Im still really surprised that they're meeting in the middle of trade Week. Feels very last minute and another way to stall. But to be fair I really dont know how these things are usually organised.
  17. You think they might have gathered together a little earlier than this hey. Somehow this seems a little shambholic to me. oh wait...the jesse deal...maybe we could get him...lets have emergency meeting of the board to see if we want him. This has been known for at least a month and probably more and theyve been chasing hi for YEARS. . As a side point...Seven smart people sitting together doesnt ensure a stupid decision wont be reached .
  18. Beat me to it 11, He was tested A WEEK AGO....before he went to Bali. Circus continues.
  19. wow....I cant remember another time tbh. Not in the last 47 years anyway.
  20. The trouble is they got rewarded last year when they held out and then got pick 2 for Mav Weller. That stupid deal might have emboldened them. No way are we as dumb / deperate as GC were back then and no way will nay club be pressured by them after that.. So Bell can micromanage all he likes. In the end, If he stalls and then gets neither, he faces massive pressure himself. It would be an an epic fail to start off his tenure as recruiting manager..oops CEO. People will wonder why he got involved in the first place. If this starts getting close to the wire the heat well and truly comes back on him...ego or no.
  21. the obvious question really. Whats his thoughts on his successor?
  22. so much revealed in the word "yet" isnt there. The only thing In our favour in that stupid article is that the value of Preuss is being talked down. Maybe theres really no such things as "news" in the media anymore...in politics or sport. maybe its ALL just opinions now and who can make theirs the loudest. Eg. Theres no envinmental issue....Yes, there is one...no there isnt etc. The more loud , more stupid and more opinionated the better for paper sales I guess. Depressing world we live in atm. Or maybe it was always like this and Ive just gotten old.
  23. lol..good to have a laugh.
