Anyone else think that we should try and pick up a key defender with one of our later picks. Unless we are thinking of playing Hogan or Watts back we only have Dunn & Pedersen as back up tall defenders.
Anyone any thoughts?
For all the ranting & raving on here, does anyone really think 1 priority pick was going to suddenly make us a super team. Sure it would have helped, but the only thing that will drag us off the bottom are guts & determination & intelligent drafting.
Mr Roos it's now up to you, the AFL has put its faith in you & your credibility is now on the line.
So as I see it if he goes into the draft he becomes like a father - son type scenario. So the Swans can select him after any other club calls his name in the draft with their next pick. So all Colless is whinging about is having to pay fair price for Perris's drafting. If the Swans want him they can still have him but would have to give up a reasonable pick and pay the kid a fair salary.
Can someone explain the rules relating to the Sydney Academy. The way it was written in the article suggested that Sydney were able to pick him up with their last pick in the draft. Is this true? If so how can we legally obtain him?
I believe Roos will improve our current list.
I just can't see established good players coming to us until we do improve.
I hope I'm wrong, but as Little Goofy pointed out we do still have a no. 2 pick to look forward to.
I hate to agree, but I think our chances this year are slim. Players will not want to come to us until we show some improvement. Maybe next year if Roos can instil some confidence into our existing players. Who would want to come to a team who gets thrashed every second week.
Time to start a sack Roos thread?
Maybe the AFL have instigated a plot to send MFC interstate (Darwin?).
First step - Infiltrated the club with PJ & PR to undermine our existence.
Second step - draft Jolly & Martin & then watch the rot set in.
Then again maybe I've just had too much to drink
Not sure who will be better in the future. There does seem to be a fair bit of premature adulation on here for Wines. Thought his second half was pretty disappointing.
