Could we please have the name of the company taken off this thread. It sickens me to see it on anything associated with Melbourne & it's fans.

After the last few weeks I don't think it matters who plays this week. If the reaction of the players is anything like 50% of the people on here we are in for another dismal performance. I expect the players are feeling quite flat & how can you blame them ? Getting past this is going to take some time. Football is a confidence game & ours must be about as low as it can get. I will be impressed if they get within 10 goals.

Watts picked on the wing in game 1?? Maybe Neeld likes to play mind games with the supporters too.

After watching Tapscott at Casey last week he was definitely in need of a run. Probably would need another game before he would be ready for AFL. Petterd also not playing in VFL so I assume he is injured. It will be interesting to see if the team lines up anything like selection. Watts on wing after Neeld has stated he wants him to play as a key forward ?? Disappointed that Sellar isn't in the side he was showing promising signs in preseason.

At least it may have taken some of the heat off Jack W

I am disappointed for Nev, I thought he was showing some promise during training & could have been handy as a small forward.

Maybe we can con Carlton into taking Sylvia, it worked with Brock. We just have to convince them we don't want to lose him.

Melbourne and the Football World mourn Jimmy Stynes
Mgdee replied to hardtack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have been trying to read this site but finding it difficult through the tears. I'd just like to say that a great man like Jimmy never dies he lives on in the hearts of the people he touched. As long as the MFC exists so will Jimmy. Thanks Jimmy -
I believe Mark Neeld is endeavouring to take the club in the right direction. After the loss to Port I am not convinced some of the players are on the same wavelength. They have had it too easy for too long, being allowed to play mediocre football & reaping the benefits. Now they are being shown they have to work for their money & I sense some of them are not liking it. It's time for all players to either get on board with MN's or get out & let someone who wants to work for success to take their place.

Port Adelaide v Melbourne NAB Cup Week 4
Mgdee replied to GawnWithTheWind's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm beginning to think my guess at 4 wins was super optimistic -
Maybe we should have recruited Phil Scully as a weight gain expert at the club. ( We could have paid him $200G)

Half empty isn't close to the level.

I just don't get all this hype regards Watts. After seeing him in his first game at Casey, I commented to the guys at work that he wouldn't be ready for a senior game until 2011.His attitude was that of a young schoolboy (immature & lacking in confidence). He should have been nurtured through Casey until at least the end of the 2010 season. His placement in the team so early is an indictment on the people within the club at the time. How can you expect a kid to gain confidence in this situation. If he had started his career in the seniors last year everyone would be heralding him as a future star on his form as a 20 y.o. Lets hope his mismanagement in his early career has not damaged the star he could & might still be.

You forgot to mention the contributing factors of Moloney, Jones & Morton

I SUPPOSE we could wait one more week.

After such a bad loss in such an important game I feel we should sack the coach, FD & captains. They have had plenty of time to correct the problems of the last 5 years. It's time for them to go. We should also trade in all our picks for the last 5 years for picks in next years draft.

Remember one game at the G when Brian was dragged for not competing hard enough. When he re-entered from the bench he ran straight through a pack of about six players picked up the ball and kicked the ball forward. absolutely brilliant. On the other side of the coin I remember him picking up the ball in the forward pocket by himself and running and kicking the ball through the points from about 1metre out thinking it was the goals. A man of contrasts was Brian.

All this debate regarding Hurley & Naitanui got me wondering how much better than Watts they were last year. So I looked up the stats. (http://www.afl.com.a....aspx#page=team) Kicks (Ave) Marks (Ave) Clear (Ave) Tackles ( Ave) Goals (Ave) Hitouts D.O.B Hurley 14.4, 5.2, 0.5, 1.3, 1.5, 0.3, 01/06/90 Naitanui 13.0, 2.2, 3.9, 3.8, 0.8, 19.9, 04/05/90 Watts 16.1, 5.6, 0.4, 2.4, 1.0, 0.4, 26/03/91 I know that stats can sometimes be deceiving but on these figures I cannot understand why Hurley is being touted as such a superstar.

If Michael Evans is now out indefinitely does this mean we are able to elevate another rookie ?
-
We may still might come out of this OK if we use our two compensatory picks wisely, whereas GWS are now stuck with the 6 million dollar man.
-
I think it's going to be a long hard year for HWMNBN, I believe he was always going to be an outside player and at GWS he isn't going to see a lot of clearances coming his way. With players like Magner, Jones and Couch on his side maybe he could have shown something special. We will never know.
-
Great effort by the boys and good to see the new recruits performing well. Magner could end up being a masterstroke of a pickup. I know it was only a NAB cup game and we will hear all the excuses why they lost but it still feels good BEATING COLLINGWOOD. GO DEES !!!!
-
Halfway through third quarter versus Pies, now I'm convinced. HE'S GOOD!!! First round certainty after elevation from the rookies list.
-
Lets hope fairytales come true

TISM Grimes & Jurrah When will we have any luck !!!!!!!!!
