PRESEASON TRAINING: Closed Sessions at Casey until 2024
rjay replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought you might be interested in a discussion on game plan and where things went wrong for us. Obviously my mistake. There is an old saying along the lines of don't answer a question with a question. It's a pretty reasonable response. -

I'm asking you what game plan you would have taken in and a follow up, why do you think it would have worked? edit: or can you point me to a previous post where you've said it before? -

Just had a quick read and you seem to be saying the game plan is at fault. What would you have done differently with the list we took into finals this year? -

She's one player from afar that I don't warm to...but know nothing of her really. -

I don't get what the nature of the facility is? -
We didn't really, in those days we didn't have much of a clue about anything...we kept trying to make him a forward for his first few years. Spencer was the project ruck. Thank goodness those days are gone.

We need a refresh so if we can get some decent draft picks it would help. The kids coming through now are better skilled than most of the girls that have been in the system a while. So, time to turn the list a bit. As for Sherriff, she's been good for us but I wouldn't bank on her kicking at goal. She has a terrible case of the yips. If Birch goes at least we won't have to put up with 'DeeSpencer' making her the whipping girl. Westy, well...I like what she brings but we could do with a bit more size and skill in the middle. -
Daisy takes up Geelong coaching role
rjay replied to Lord Travis's topic in AFL National Women's League
Would be mad if they didn't go after her. ...interesting to see if that's what she is after though. Media commitments and coaching in the mens program, interesting times for Daisy. -
Yep, the chemo can be a real trial... I really hope you get down here for a couple of gigs, would love to get along and catch you. ...but you know in the meantime the godfather/Elmer Fudd sound could just take off. Good luck with the treatment mate and take good care. Love to see you in person, fingers crossed.

It would have been great to be a fly on the wall for that one... Hope you are going ok mate. Still in Sydney and playing in the band?

We lost by 2 points and it was a complete train wreck. A little bit of mayo on that don't you think 'Roost'??? -

I think I might find out when Josh Barnes takes his annual leave then check in to see if he gets back to the office a week early. -
Agree that the Northern states need to get access and have development $'s to grow the game. A fairer bidding system needs to be put in place as 'Dee' posts... Can't for the life of me see why clubs in football states need academies. There is a very good reason we got rid of zones all those years ago.

Clarry has always been a hard trainer, that's the least his problems. Agree with 'pilgrim' here. Would rather see a happy, healthy player with a clear mind. The only statement he needs to make is when he hits season 2024. With his teammates, enjoying the game and back at his peak. All the rest is BS. You don't make statements in November...- 266 replies

While we're on politics. No, I will take that back...no point in engaging on politics here.

Yes Zappa despite appearances was very anti drug. A friend tells the story of some band members sneaking a smoke with him when they were in Melbourne in the 70's.
-
One story of his that touched me was when asked about his guitars he said he had owned a heap Strats (can't remember the number) but they'd all been stolen over the years. He recounted a story of the band staying at a seedy motel and he stayed up all night watching the truck to make sure it wasn't stolen...well he must of dozed off for a minute because when he opened his eyes it was gone along with another Strat.

Fellow Melbourne supporter David Briggs in fine form. Pretty sure they toured with Little Feat among others back in the day.

Unfortunately it's an old story 'Dannyz', the longer this goes on the more I'm inclined to join the '@old dee' camp. I'll believe it when I see it...

I suspect Caulfield is just smoke and mirrors and there is nothing concrete there. Just a faint hope...and some crumbs to throw out to us, the supporters.
