NON-MFC: Round 06
I posted in last years trade period that we should look at Yeo given WC were in rebuild mode. Was back to his best last night & would have been more than handy for us...particularly with Gus retiring.

NON-MFC: Round 06
He's absolutely killing Freo... ...and then Yeo takes multiple tacklers on & treats them like they were under 10's.

NON-MFC: Round 06
You've got to line up the ball..not just put a hand out and run past it. That's why Port are pretenders at the moment...

TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024
It's pretty normal from my experience. The difficult part is getting back to full pace.

Harrison Petty
They were certainly getting into him 'Rob'. Aligned with his lack of preseason & not getting a clear run with injury, his confidence is well down. His kicking is a symptom of that.

CASEY: Rd 03 vs Port Melbourne
I used to enjoy Mark Williams short lived player reviews. A bit too honest for some and disappeared never to be seen again.

CASEY: Rd 03 vs Port Melbourne
I think the draw on talent across all sports make that near impossible now. ...and, should you hold players like Reid back another year when they are clearly ready to step up for the benefit of others like Jeffo who are clearly not.

...because every AFL team bases their decisions on 1 or 2 games. Cornes is paid to stir and he's good at it. If he was a list manager his tune would be a lot different. Taking a long term view is not a media strong suit.

Goldy & Mackin integral players in our Premiership... Got me baffled 'daze'... The mens & women's team should be working together on this.Use the resources at hand.

CASEY: Rd 03 vs Port Melbourne
I get your point mate...but nothing ventured nothing gained. We've tried with him and Bradke before and so far haven't had a win. Personally I would have put more eggs into the Irish experiment where we were once leaders and came up with some real gems.

He's a beautiful set shot but is lacking confidence this season, you can see it in his approach. I just think he is lacking confidence in his body at the moment. Get that right and he will be good to go, forward or back...

CASEY: Rd 03 vs Port Melbourne
...and, I like the idea of trialing Disco forward. We nearly pulled the trigger on that move in finals last year when the cupboard was bare. Now is the time to build our options.

CASEY: Rd 03 vs Port Melbourne
Last year he (Vearrall) missed all of preseason and most of the first half so was coming off zero base. It was always this year that he would start to show and he is. Lets hope he keeps up the improvement. There is a spot in the AFL team for him if he does.

Crunch Time
There's not a single brain cell between Derm & Morris.

Special Edition: What They are saying at 'The Edge'!
Finey's Final Siren would have been great listening last night...I wonder if they have it podcasted...

2023 Player Reviews: #41 Judd McVee
Salem has already played some midfield time this season with mixed results. ...when Bowey comes back does he move back into the rotations. Probably. McVee's defensive game is too strong to move just yet and it's good to have quality ball use coming out of the back half but then again Howes has been a surprise package with his contested and defensive play. At least we have some good options. Playing AMW off half back at Casey...wonder if we see him here or is it a taste of what he needs as a forward? Anyway this is a McVee thread and the kid has been a real surprise package since coming into the team last season. Has so much more to offer and we just got a good look at that last night...

Training Ground?
Yep, but my point was more about other clubs getting funding under false pretences.
-
Training Ground?
Yep, and the sad thing is that we led the way with AFLW and yet others who sat back and had no particular interest benefit from it in their funding.

Rising Star Nomination for The Duke?

Rising Star Nomination for The Duke?
He works hard back and forward, clean hands, good quick decisions...is trending well. Playing a midfield role on a wing he needs to be getting in the 20's and hopefully that will come.
