  1. Not sure how old you are 'Return' but the old zone system really stitched us up and was a big reason why we went so long without a flag. I'm against anything that looks like a zone and would rather we keep some integrity in the draft. The current system as you have already alluded to can be too easily rorted like the old zone system was. The less interference the better, keep things simple. Go to the draft, let the AFL spend their money on development. Development of the game after all is a big part of their charter.
  2. I would rather these pathways be scrapped and taken over by the AFL...
  3. A couple of average KPF's there 'stinga'...surely you could have found some better examples.
  4. The big excuse about key forwards taking time is a bit of a furphy for those stuck in the 2's. Yes, to have a big impact it may take more time for key forwards but pretty much all of the good ones are taking time in the 1's not the 2's... Big year for Jeffo.
  5. It's been a hard road for a while now mate.. Wishing you all the best.
  6. You seriously have a problem...no need to be obnoxious in your posts. Yes, I do realise we have been regenerating the list. However, if we fail this year (which by the way I doubt we will unless something unforeseen happens) we would probably have to look at a full on rebuild before the Tasmanian team enters the competition.
  7. You're probably right but there have been murmurs about Brayshaw plus Darcy will probably be usurped by Jackson or visa versa so there may be room to move there. edit: it's a big season for both clubs. If they fail again then the glue won't be so strong to bind the team, players will look to move. If we do then it's rebuild time for us.
  8. If he's desperately homesick then we need to play the how homesick are you card and invite WC to the party...
  9. Dangerfield was a free agent but Geelong softened the blow. Bolton, the tiges wanted picks, Rankine was on the GC roundabout, who cares...Cameron a free agent, Taranto and hopper work middle of the road and got it...Jackson, an interesting one but we came out ok in the end, Barrass WC didn't seem interested to keep more wanting picks, HF, well it didn't matter much to North, they weren't in contention and picks were good enough on a list build...
  10. The point is that we're still in contention. Why would we be willing to give up one of our established players?
  11. The thing is that we don't have to trade...
  12. This is a really a dumb statement... Do you think we really want to let Kozzie go? What is it with our supporters...think one of our contracted players will go but for some reason think we can't get one back. Of course they want to improve their list, what we don't. Our job is not to help them get a better list, it's about ours and if they really want Kozzie then they are going to have to give up something really good to get him. I give up...
  13. I hope we're not going to go on with this all season... A good way to ruin a great game.
  14. I would rather keep Koz but lets say he really wants to go. Firstly if he's homesick we should deal with WC...then if it's obvious he's not but wants to go to Freo... I don't think a trade gets done without a top level player involved. Maybe Brayshaw or Young perhaps Darcy if we want a Gawn successor.
  15. Homesickness is a 2 way street...

    Is it over yet????
  17. One of my fathers favourite players...
  18. For a player in contract it is still true. Can't see us caving on Kozzie if he wants out at the end of this season.
  19. ...a lot of water to go under the bridge here I would think. A contracted player. Will have 2 premierships at the end of season so the price would be high if he were to be leaving.
  20. I thought he was looking good for his age...
  21. I think AFL players are encouraged to kick on their strong side. There are very few that kick well on and use both feet. I'm sure Fritsch would be handy on his non preferred side but it's not something I've really noticed.
  22. Goody or the fan yelling out to give Jeffo a game?
  23. You can argue about who was the best etc...but surely Robbie was the most graceful player to ever pull on a footy boot. ...the phrase "poetry in motion" comes to mind.
  24. ...the AFL players that are not one sided would make a very short list.
  25. Maybe, maybe not. It's trotted out a lot to defend a young forward making his way in football. Unfortunately it can hold too long...think Weid, Cook, Watts etc. etc. Yes, it can take time for a KPF top be consistent at the top level but most that reach this point are playing senior football in the first year or two. Once it gets beyond this then it's less likely they will make it.
