The current board won't be there so it doesn't really matter what they want. I'm sure he will be a priority though.
-
It's about time we had a look at him at this level. Maester or what ever he was called then did touch him up last year in the VFL last year so it might also be a measure of his improvement. Would like to see Clisby but still a rookie and Taggert.

...and between the lines, it's not going to happen. For those that want change it is happening, we don't need Jeff as a catalyst for that change. Let Jackson and the club get on with it now, Jeff is only a distraction.
-
By the tone of the thread I think most of us think we will...
-
No...he's a free agent.
-
Agree with you on this 'Colin'. It's going to take a real Dicker/Costa type to help turn the club around, surely there must be someone around with these qualities.
-
'Jack', at the time of the injury this year I posted that the language used was ambiguous. It seemed to me something was wrong and badly wrong. Looks to be the case here and Misson hasn't clarified anything to date.

Unfortunately you are pretty much on the money here...the club jumped at all the criticism in the football media about not having a defensive game plan when Collingwood were flavour of the month. A lot of this was led by GL from his position on Footy Classified and of course when they got rid of Bailey he was the man to look for the new coach. Well of course they turned down highly qualified coaches like Eade because he didn't play defensive footy...well how dumb a decision was that, Eade is a coach that coaches to a teams strengths. I was so angry at the time the sub committee was named to select the new coach, not only was there no one with coaching experience but there was no one with premiership experience and a discredited CEO was also sitting in judgement. It was a recipe for disaster. I think our list is much better than it is displaying at the moment and look forward to a time they can get out and play footy.

100% agree with you on this 'rpfc'...most of us want change and this is what we are getting. Let Jackson do his job, Jeff will only muddy the waters. I wouldn't trust anyone whose passion seems to change with the wind. That is not passion for a cause it is opportunism and passion for his own ego and agenda. It is not true passion, true passion runs much deeper than Jeff. Visionary, I've heard nothing from Jeff or seen actions that seem to display that quality...from Ian Dicker at Hawthorn and Frank Costa at Geelong there was most definitely a vision held by people with true passion and the drive to push it through. Did you ever hear these 2 talk the rubbish that Jeff does, were they dial a quotes who loved seeing themselves in the media, no they got in a did the things that needed to be done and got the right people around them to do it.

I think we need to get games into Toumpas, Blease and Viney.
-
I think you are pretty close to the mark here 'Barassi', with the current board on the outer and a FD in transition there is no other way for it to work.
-
If he can't play ruck then he is a risk anywhere, Mitch only knows how to play one way. See ball, get ball and or clean up anyone in his way. Forward, back or ruck, the risk will be the same for Mitch, it was as a forward that he got these injuries and also tried to kill himself landing on his head.

I think both Eade and Choco are very getable. The question for me is, "Was Alan Scott right"?
-
The way we are going at the moment I don't think we will have to be worried about GWS passing on him and a priority pick would make the choice all the more easy. If Boyd is best available we take him.
-
Eade is a master tactician, don't undersell what he did with the doggies...he developed a game to suit the list he had. If he had Hall a year or 2 earlier they would have won a flag. I'm sure this time through Leigh will be sounded out but I'm not so sure he is the man for the job, being out of the game for nearly 6 years is a long time in football and I find his expert commentary a fair bit behind the game when compared to someone like Ling who is recently retired. People mention the likes of Alex Ferguson as older coaches but he never left the game, he was always involved.
-
I agree with 'Carrot', we pick best available. If it's Boyd we take him, if it's Kelly or Aish, Dunstan we take them. You think Essendon, who have too many talls thought about passing up on Danniher because they needed some quick running mids and they do. The kids a beauty, imagine if we had him and Hogan in our forward half...would you pass up Clark and Dawes? Clark if he plays again may be a better midfield option for us in the ruck. Hogan has proven he can play forward back and also played some time mid in last years u18's. imagine running into him in the centre bounce. We're not smart enough to pick and choose...pick best available.
-
It's Eade.
-
Yep, we got Cook when we drafted for needs.
-
Rose was the interim CEO, not President. This is where people are getting things mixed up, we need a support mechanism around Jackson and who ever is the FD boss and coach. We don't need a cowboy running the place from the presidents chair.
-
I hear if he misses out on the MFC job he is preparing a ticket to run for leader of the ALP after the election, his record speaks for itself.
-
Spot on 'Ben', I think he still has a bit of kids footy in him and he will only come through with consistent game time. It is frustrating to see him sent back to Casey, he's not going to learn much down there now.
-
Wouldn't pay the $$$'s either, but he would be one of the best mids in the comp if played there.

Dees to meet AFL Commission today - the latest from Caro.

Apparently he wasn't. -
Go ahead, I'm interested to hear what you think is wrong with the article. It mightn't serve any particular purpose other than fill space but to me it's a pretty fair summary not that I agree with every point made.

I think Chris announced it to remind people he is still around, not so sure that was when it was signed. I think you might find it was a Schwab deal.
