  1. Agree with this, his actions show that.
  2. No, our problems were of our own making. We should have been pushing top 4 this year and in contention over the next 2, we were supposed to be a step ahead but poor management at the club screwed us not the AFL. Richmond are the club that's really been screwed, they were (believe it or not) a year or 2 behind us in the rebuild stakes and they have missed out on some crucial draft picks that would have given them the class to go all the way. As it sits now GC will pass them next year and GWS may not be far behind. The Tiges are experiencing a false dawn.
  3. I don't think this board (if they are still there) will have much say at all on any new appointments apart from rubber stamping recommendations from the CEO and whoever he co-opts. Me neither.
  4. On current form we couldn't beat anyone.
  5. It's the only way we are going to move forward 'rpfc' anything else would take to much focus away from what is important and that is the team starting to perform on the ground. We don't need a battle of ego's, it would be the continuation of a long slow death for the club.
  6. Spot on 'Redleg', we have a good operator now as CEO and we need to let him do what he has been brought in to do. For those wanting some outside influence at the club we've got it, for those who want to see change, we've got the guy who will bring it...just let him do his job and don't let Jeff be the issue here, he will be if we let him through the door.
  7. Missed it by that much...I think that was the problem we thought we would get Lynch and when we didn't we looked for another tall and got Cook instead of next best player. Says a lot about our recruiting really.
  8. Hardly, I don't see anywhere that he is endorsed. I think you will find a restructure of the board and probably a new president maybe as early as this weekend.
  9. We've been through this before but they way the club is now we can offer what ever we like but it would be highly unlikely that he would sign. Any manager worth his salt would hold off until the dust settles.
  10. One has a proven track record in football the other doesn't.
  11. ...and that is the truth.
  12. Well I suppose there are similarities...
  13. ...and the success of that operation may give you a clue as to why he is not for us. Political life was good for Jeff.
  14. Agreed 'rpfc', forget the messiah thing just get a few people doing their job properly and things will turn around.
  15. No, it's been 7 years of rubbish. We are acting now, CS was the first domino.
  16. Agree 'Curry', the rubbish that's talked about this has become an urban myth. He got tackled by a few payers, big deal. I can't believe people still come out with this as an excuse for the poor development of Watts and others. There are a lot of reasons why Watts and some of our players have not developed, one of them is they just weren't or aren't good enough. Look at Joe Danniher tonight, big Friday night game, traditional rivals, skinny underdeveloped kid, you don't think his club is pushing the marketing angle there, you don't think they played the media with his debut. How abut Mitchell last week for the Swans, they let him quietly sneak into his first game without any media fan fare, I don't think so.
  17. Was expecting someone to post this, but I'm sure you would agree with pretty much all the football world with the list they have they should have more than one flag with this group. The membership numbers have more to do with Dicker's hard work built on the back of the successful teams of the 70's & 80's.
  18. He wasn't President so he could say what he liked. When he was President the Hawks under performed.
  19. Agree here, Cloke is most damaging on the lead. Whilst he is a good contested mark when required it's his work rate and getting on the lead where the damage is caused, he has a big body to get around. With a bit of luck his kicking will be off target.
  20. Big picture and governance not management but you say Jeff sees it as a management role.
  21. I'm positive you don't.
  22. No it's not as simple as that but maybe one of our corporate governance experts could fill in the detail.
  23. If that's the case then the choice is Kennett or Jackson. My choice is Jackson that's why I don't embrace this idea.
