I would like to see Strauss have the confidence to go and get the ball, we have a few younger players like this. They show ability but have been shown up by Terlich and Clisby both of whom are ball getters. When Strauss backs himself he will be a good player, he was good on Saturday.
-
He's a pure tap ruckman not a forward. They seem to be lessening his value showing everyone he is a one trick pony. We were a bit lucky they didn't play him on ball or the result might have been different.
-
Yeah, a lot of Kennedy about him. This is the type of player to target.
-
Correct 'rp', interesting times ahead. I hope the commission come out with their decision before the end of the season and I have a feeling they will to avoid any further discussion of tanking. With the last game against the Doggies if we lose and get a pp it won't look good, if we win and get a pp there will be the cry of why and if we win and don't get a pp it will look like the commission caved in to public opinion. It's a no win situation leaving it until the end of the season.

Nice kick and hits up targets but doesn't have the depth of kick that Hodge has. Dean Kent does and he has the mongrel to go with it.

They could trade Paton. I'm not sure about the Franklin trade situation it might be seen as tampering with the draft...who knows it gets a bit like rules on the run sometimes. I don't think they would be able to
-
I think a lot of people are having shots at him which is a bit unfair as we don't know what impact he has on game day. Having said that I have been pushing for Ling since last year to come into the club as an assistant if it is possible, it would be good to have a player from a successful club just recently out of the game involved.

Better chance of trading in midfield stars
rjay replied to Hellish Inferno's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would say that is stupid rather than ruthless. -
I think they will take the pick...Boyd and trade it on for a senior player. They will get Franklin as FA and a quality mid for Boyd. ...or they will keep Boyd and trade Paton.
-
We pick best available, the way it looks now Boyd will not be available so it's a non issue.
-
You've also got to assume there is something that has kept him in the system as an assistant coach going on 20 years, he must have something to offer.
-
...and suddenly our list is looking alright, in a better position than the Doggies and the Saints. Last week we had the worst list in living memory, go figure. Funny thing about the media is they don't have any memory.
-
No, I don't think he will drop. The talent scouts will already have enough info to make a decision on him now, he may drop one or two places but a lot will depend on how the others around him perform, if they have some massive games.

Been saying for a while now that the only KPI that counts is the scoreboard, good to hear the coach is onboard the scoreboard.
-
Sheed looked good the other day so looking forward to checking out Dunstan.
-
Haven't seen Dunstan yet but Sheed looked very impressive, also want to have a look at Kelly. ...anyway on Jimmy T if their careers stopped now Wines would be streets ahead but that's not how it works. The recruiters led by Todd Viney seemed to get a lot right in 2012 and Todd knew a lot about both Jimmy and Ollie so my guess is he picked well and for a good reason unless of course he was over ruled. Jimmy T is up and running now with the change in game plan more likely to suit his free running style, I would expect him to be playing some really good footy before the year is out.

Enjoy it mate.
-
Until yesterday that wasn't a given, now it seems more than likely. No matter what we take best available.
-
Probably against the swans grunt it should be Magner but wouldn't be surprised to see Strauss on his performance yesterday.

It's up on ABC iview now http://www.abc.net.au/iview/#/view/40058 Enjoy

You can learn from the mistakes of others without having made those mistakes but I think it is more likely a couple may stay on. Spargo and Trotter perhaps, but it will be interesting to see what the composition of the new board is.
-
I think it is, particularly where we are sitting at the moment. It's all hands on deck or ....off. So lets just agree to differ on this.
-
Yeah, but I don't think you are on the board of the MFC a club that needs people with serious passion to get it back to the top, not half baked arrogant tossers who pick and choose.

Let the boy play...

At least Ricciuto keeps an eye on what's going on in a game, I reckon he's ok. Taylor though is a whole different story.
