'master' if it had of spun forward it would not have gone out of bounds. That's the problem with the call. I loved Jimmy Bartell trying to claim one a bit later that Hawthorn kicked over...the ump didn't fall for it but he made his point.

Dwayne Russell....say no more.
-
Pretty sure this is how it will happen 'Redleg'.
-
He's still pretty close to the edge at times but it makes for good listening. Thanks for the story 'Redleg', much appreciated.
-
Never ring in but often send texts, he has a good understanding of the game and is always entertaining.
-
'Robbie', I think generally he is pretty good with the ball in his hands. Sometimes he gets caught out because of his own decisions and sometimes because a team mate has sold him short. I think it's great he takes the game on and works hard for his team, the spoil coming off his man against Tippett in the last was a ripper. A few of our longer serving recruits like Strauss, Jetta, Tapscott to name a few could learn a lot from Terlich and back themselves in to go and get the footy and try to do something with it. More power to him.
-
He's going ok but will never be the player most had hoped for, I never set the bar that high for him.
-
I think you are right 'Redleg', if the ball had not been brought back into play in the correct manner (by a kick) which it wasn't then it can't be deemed as a deliberate rushed behind, it wasn't in play. It had to be a ball up for incorrect disposal from a kick out. ...as for the holding the ball etc. I think it was Finey this morning who brought up the new interpretations of dragging the ball back in under the player on the ground. This is still happening and getting paid the wrong way continually, if a player pulls the ball back in under the player and trying to get a holding the ball decision it is actually against him.

It's probably a few things but personal is a big one here, I know there are lots of opinions on Col Silvia and here's mine. Whilst he has the body of a clearance type mid as you call it, he just doesn't have the awareness and vision to play this role. He is much better as a high half forward. When he is in the middle at centre bounces we are one man down right off. Just noticing your post above 'old dee' and agree with McLean not with Moloney, he was too selfish a player with us and it's no coincidence that Jones has improved with Moloney not getting much game time last year and not around this year. McLean would have given us the extra experience and muscle we could do with.

A long way to go for big Max, looks like he will get to run out the year now which is going to be great for his development. So much upside.
-
Good to see players have been given some time to develop at senior level, finally Fitzy gets more than one game in a row and is showing something. Kent has done some good and some not so good but this time is invaluable for him and his development, Watts is stepping up, pity that Sammy Blease is injured, sooner he is back up to see out the rest of the year at AFL level and we will have a player.

...and it has. Melbourne and Carlton......Collingwood and Hawthorn.

They can compel anyone they want it doesn't mean they can make them speak. Dank seems determined to play this out for what ever reason who knows. If he has correspondence from ASADA in his safe why doesn't he just copy it and let everyone see it? Well thems the rules 'titan', it doesn't mean we can't drink it, it just means that any athlete who wants to compete in a competition that is signed up to WADA can't drink it, take it, inject it or whatever in any form that is banned. It's pretty simple really, not so complicated but very sensitive.
-
I think you are right unless they can pull something out of the hat this trade period, but I'm not sure they have much to give up and also not sure who wants to deal with them. I'm also not so sure about the Tiges (nothing to do with todays result, have posted this in the past), they have come along well but they have a workman like defence and limited forward line. At least they have enough good young players to build on, reckon Ellis is a real find. Can't see them pushing much further than bottom 8 over the next few years unless something changes, their big problem is finishing mid ladder without access to top talent in a compromised draft.
-
Not quite correct 'Titan' about the evidence in regard to positive tests. WADA had none on Armstrong, they don't need to have a positive test to prove the drug had been taken. Whether or not it is performance enhancing has nothing to do with it, the drug in question was a banned substance. Essendon do however sound confident so it will be interesting to hear what their position is when this is over. Nothing can compel anyone to answer questions so if Dank doesn't want too he may well get fined but as far as I know toucher is not permissible, maybe and exception can be made for sporting matters.

I don't know if it was PJ, but someone from the club (not just the 360 boys) has at least asked the question to gauge interest as you would expect. I would say it is at least a 3 horse race maybe 4, Roos, Eade, Craig, Williams. Roos is starting to look more likely by the day.

Some play and understand the game, Ling Some play and think they know the game, Lyon Some play and have no idea, Taylor, Darcy It would be a great pick up to get Ling on the coaching panel next year, I think he is open to it now and would be well set to take a senior position down the track.

It hasn't stopped Collingwood or Hawthorn, both are clubs that put the cue in the rack to get PP's. A lot of Carlton's problems relate back to things other than tanking. Internal conflict at the club, having to pay big money to buy in a captain who gave great on field leadership but not next to nothing off field. Losing draft picks left a big hole in their list as it has in ours.
-
Me too, sounds like a good idea though. Need a good matchmaker, any suggestions.
-
I totally agree with you about having all the pieces in place and I think Geelong are the model to look at about how a club should operate, they had a bit of luck along the way however but were smart enough to maximise it ...but in your original post you implied that tanking by us and Carlton is the cause of some of our problems and I would agree to a point but also say the Collingwood and Hawthorn have gone down the same path but probably with there stronger structures they were able to do it better and not effect the culture of the club. ...anyway, time to watch the footy.
-
No it's not, I appreciate that Sydney and Geelong have done a great job with their lists but they have both taken advantage of AFL assistance through cash or rules at the time. The extra cap has helped Sydney and there is no way known they would have picked up Tippett for example and it allowed them to get Mumford in the past. Geelong had the good luck to get father son picks cheaply under the previous rule, Ablett, Scarlett and Hawkins have helped. As posted above they also get a huge leg up with Cardinia Park. Of course Collingwood and Hawthorn have taken advantage of PP's and there was a little manipulation (not tanking of course) to get them.

Swan with only one or two years left according to him, I couldn't see GWS going for it.
-
Yep, read previous post.
-
I take that back, you are right there. Funny thing is I perceive Fyfe as the taller of the two but Mundy is deceptive. There's something about Scharenberg that looks right, I hope we get two early picks. With Hogan, Viney, Toumpas and Kent we could be well set up now with some senior players that can lead the way in Garland, Jones, Dawes, Clark and Frawley around.
-
The draft and trade period are vital to them, I hope no one falls for some of their rubbish like the one dimensional small forwards running around tonight or the one dimensional talls that can't get a game.
