Great work. ANB and Stretch look in great knick. Oliver doesn't. I've seen pugs with lower skinfolds.Suspect he needs a kick up the backside sooner rather than later...imo

Lachie Whitfield under investigation
Return to Glory replied to Gipsy Danger's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree with you here Monoccular. And, for mine, the AFL is not interested in redressing any of the inequalities. Someone may correct me here, but my understanding is that whilst we will now all have 'academies' and associated regions, regular clubs (as opposed to Phat Phil's) will not be able to have dibs on a player but merely rookie him if he is not selected in the main draft. Not quite the same as pocketing away absolute stars prior to the draft itself. Gil is a pumped up poonce who's all pi55 and wind. -

Lachie Whitfield under investigation
Return to Glory replied to Gipsy Danger's topic in Melbourne Demons
If anything SWYL, GWS should be compensated for the inconvenience of an investigation....say, two additional picks inside the top 10. It's not fair that they are held to the same rules as other clubs. -

Redleg, I'm cynical enough to suggest the AFL tells the club what the penalty will be 'but we then want you to appeal it'. Too cynical? -
2016 Player Review - # 8 Heritier Lumumba

I blame the Dalai Lama -
The AFL I suspect see supporters in that region as rusted on...so why bother. It's short sighted and disappointing.

At the start of the original National Lampoon's Vacation, the car salesman pitches a lemon of a car to Chevy Chase with the double edged line 'if you hate it now, wait till you drive it' Perhaps a variation. 'If you think you're fat now, wait till you do my 16 week course' would do the trick.

At what point did Richmond realize the extent of the issue? If this has been going on for a length of time, surely you cut your losses before the trade season. Mind boggling.

Looks like they paid him in pies.

'He spent the off-season working through a tailored program with personal trainer Tom Couch' It would appear that the program consisted of running from the local bakery to KFC and back. Perhaps it's a typo and 'Tom Couch' should read 'The Couch'

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Return to Glory replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in General Discussion
And give it a couple of years and the AFL will bring the sun tanned one in from the cold. Maybe not as the Chief Integrity Officer but there will be a campaign to soften/ gloss over his image. -
We've relaxed that policy a little lately though to be fair. Couple on our list and I have no problems with it....as long as they can play.

The Great Deepression - a book
Return to Glory replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great stuff although you must have deleted The Templeton and Balme years to get it down to '800 pages of misery in the nicest possible taste.' -
Richmond - the gift that keeps on giving.

It certainly does read like SWYL and I are of the same thought. Good. I am a Melbourne supporter and member and I like the current MCC alignment as I am a member of the MCC. I derive benefit from this arrangement but at a financial cost. Your implication is that this is a bad thing and have indicated that the best thing for the club is for members in my position to eventually 'drop off the perch.' This is part of your master plan.
-
You're relentlessly pushing this idea of our ties with the MCC and MCG as no more than simply shelter. What a load of rubbish. Both are intrinsic to who we are as a football club. They are our history which may or may not be relevant to you (I don't know) but, for mine, any ultimate success would be lessened if we disregarded our identity. They are also not the reason we have failed in recent times. That's an issue of poor administration more broadly. Happy to discuss training base options but your arguments on this are also disjointed.

At this stage of the game they're all elite kicks Song...just as we are elite posters. -
Played for the Dees and trained two Melbourne Cup winners - stuff of dreams really
