Jack Steele will be significant for us. To compare him to Billings is absurd. For a starters, Steele is a leader. What has always stood out to me when watching him, was his ability to rise to the occasion. Yes, I can all the recent stats, but here's a guy with huge pride in his performance and he would have been stung by the turn of events. I'm absolutely backing him in as having a similar impact to what Jordan Lewis had at a similar time.

Yep, and the relatively new (last five or so years) phenomenon with the draft now is that everybody is an expert. It's probably no longer odd BoBo, although I don't Garry Lyon's unwavering support and seeming cheer leading. He's a champion of our club....but he's also becoming a bit of a hard listen as a commentator.

It's hard not to wonder as to the the media's response if Clarry abused a female photographer or if Melbourne left a player on in a GF appeared concussed but, nonetheless, had a broken arm. That's just for starters, add a current Cats player going through the courts atm, rocking up to the ground.

Perhaps the AFL should introduce a rule where good to great players can only go to Gold Coast, Brisbane, Collingwood, Sydney or Geelong. Call it the crush hope rule.

You have to admire what Balme has done as an administrator. However, I watched many of the games he coached us in and, hand on heart, he was the worst coach we've had in my time of watching. And that includes Neeld. There are some passages of play that I still recall with a mix of amusement and horror.

Now no-one shoot me, but I did get a whisper that Petracca has no plans to leave but May could be headed out.

There's some genuine positives. Amongst them: A few highly promising kids coming in with Mentha, White and Toby Sinnema, who I particularly like. Sure I'm missing one. AMW will come back Langford will be a season in and already looks a star New coach and a more settled admin.
