  1. Surely we take the two best mids and pull off a Boyd style move with our mountains of spare cash down the line.
  2. Maybe we can tempt Moloney out of retirement. Or bring back Matty Warnock.
  3. I was wondering whether somebody would bring that up. I just never, never, never understood where we were heading with that one and the timing was just silly.
  4. No, but I bet he's not taking calls at 4am in his hotel room, when they need a 5 second decision. Why not take a week between now and the draft, when really nothing is happening.
  5. If you can't use your brain and see that a captain will tweet that even if we brought in three one-legged men from the local park, I can't help you.
  6. Oh Christ, come on. We've been reading posts like that for 7 YEARS!
  7. He's hardly going to tweet 'Really ambivalent about these pick ups but meh what can you do. @JMahoney what a clown!'. Is he now.
  8. Yep, we should definitely keep one-trick ponies to pull the same crowds through the door who are exiting in droves because our team sucks so much balls.
  9. Um! Except that one of those picks is ours! Going to them! So its not two picks for a slow player at all!
  10. It certainly is the first time we have looked relatively settled and united in a very long time. Given all of the mess at other clubs, we may well be surprised at how many are having a bit of a reset next year, while new coaches get to grips with their teams or, where they haven't been sacked, getting to grips with a changed playing list (at the least, GC, Bulldogs, Adelaide and Essendon). If it turns out like this, we may be able to jump at least a couple of those teams next year...
  11. Completely understand. However, you do sound like someone though who has come over here for a bit of sympathy about what is happening at your club. Frankly, for the most part we don't get it from yours, so you won't get it from ours.
  12. I think you're completely missing the point. Now that the Essendon punishment has been meted out by the AFL, why should they turn around and engineer special treatment for your club? Play within the trade rules. Do a deal and make everyone happy, make Ryder stay and be miserable, or release him. That's how everyone else has to behave - why shouldn't you? Your posts seem to suggest that Essendon should get special treatment to help you out of the mess you created yourselves. No other team in the AFL bought that argument when we submitted for a priority pick, and we sure as hell fit those criteria for assistance better than Essendon does on this.
  13. Absolute garbage. You can't just change the goalposts (pun intended) all the time on the run like this. Makes a mockery about of the planning clubs put in place over a number of years and is totally illogical.
  14. Absolutely right. It is a complete and utter disaster. There have been so many chances to shut down this mess from day 1. Each time they kick the can down the road with a decision like this, the problem gets bigger and the decisions that have to be made to contain the problems get messier.
  15. They're clearly desperate to do whatever it takes to keep the Ryder problem from escalating. The problem is the flow on consequences. They are making so many decisions like this around Essendon at the moment that those consequences are slowly becoming bigger, and at some point soon the whole mess is going to explode.
  16. And we'd get to root Geelong by making the Mitch Clark deal hard to get across the line.
  17. That is truly astonishing. God, I only draft at bloody fantasy NBA level and I know who I'm going to take each round if my next pick is gone. You rate the whole draft 1-100!! Can't believe we employed these muppets for so long.
