In fact, what would be much better is to do what most other world sports do and give the players the freedom to move when they want to, within very broad parameters. The idea of 'owning' the rights to players and therefore holding them hostage is ludicrous. If what Machsy says is true, it probably shows a really clear intent from the new guard to properly clean out the old. It seems odd, but they didn't seem at all keep to stop Sylvia leaving and it is becoming more likely that they aren't trying too hard to stop Clark either. Perhaps in Frawley's case they thought a top 5 pick was better to use in trading in someone similar, who doesn't have the associated baggage (Jaksch or similar?)

Not sure why everybody keeps going on about Frawley's worth. It is entirely irrelevant. What is relevant is his age and new contract, and where our relevant pick sits. If we were at pick 10 this year, we'd get pick 11. It has nothing to do with value.

Probably the worst player to kick 5 goals in a game other than the previously almost unknown player from any other club who seems to do it against us at least once or twice a year. Just the wrong type of player at the wrong time. Ten years ago he would have been a star.
