  1. He's to slow upstairs in terms of decision making and IMO just not cut for AFL. Good solid WAFL/VFL/SANFL footballer
  2. If we are good enough we make Top 4. I like the fixture Great free to air exposure Corporate dream MCG home games against 4 MCG powerhouses, 2 of our annual blockbusters. The flow on effect for sponsorship and attracting players is massive No room for complacency for the players with this fixture as the job needs to be on from the time we arrive back
  3. They remind me a lot of Port in the early 2000s, I expected them to make the 8 and steam roll teams on the fast track at Etihad, but felt come September when the tough hard contested footy was required they'd be found out. They lack midfield bulls IMO. On their day they are going to be hard to beat but still think beating them at the contest will be what a lot of sides set their gameplan around. With regard to Woosha he aint past it, he never had it. Fantastic motivator and a real come with me boys I'll run through brick walls for you type, but he is and has always been tactically inept
  4. Don't think they have to have the post Anzac games this year as there will be a minimum 8/9 day break for us and the Tigers, although they may look to a Friday night Pies v Tiger or Dees vs Bombers the post Anzac round. With us and Tigers playing on Anzac eve it would make more sense(which the AFL fixturing never uses) to have one of us and the Tigers playing Good Friday eve and one on Good Friday.
  5. RIP Colin, thoughts and prayers with your family and friends
  6. I want more midfield and bigger bodied depth so at 23 and 28 I want 2 from Ely Smith Luke Valente Xavier O'Halloran Xavier Duursma
  7. I disagree in the sense of I only see Townsend as a pressure forward and he has Bugg covered there. Bugg is more versatile though I agree with you there
  8. No we haven't played the Eagles or Freo twice for many years. The last 3 years we've only played the Eagles once in Home and away and all in Perth
  9. I don't mind him as depth with his forward pressure. Great tackler and hard as a Cats head Disposal is not great
  10. A few things because one size doesn't fit all and not everything is black and white. The signs were there against the Hawks that we were starting to look fatigued Don't underestimate how much the previous back to back 4 must win elimination games we had effected our players emotionally. We were on a knifes edge coming in against the Eagles. They should have been done week 1 at home against the Pies and without the week off Kennedy would have been in trouble, but somehow they dug out a win. Good luck to them they hung in and the Pies ran out of legs In the prelim we started nervously and bang it was almost gone. Players come out after quarter time in their shells and bang bang two quick goals and that is it, the mountain is to high and we were officially cooked. We had the weaknesses down back going in which were magnified by us getting smashed at the clearances allowing them easy delivery. I like our game style it stands up but needs some tweaks and some greater outside polish. We saw in the later part of the season much improved delivery inside 50 and cohesion moving forward in waves with quick ball movement. Not finishing top 4 cost us dearly, I honestly believe with the build up and emotion we brought into week 1 of the finals that we would have beaten any side in front of us, but we shall never know The ball moves quicker than any player will and you never look slow controlling the game. Take the prelim out of it and I seen a lot to be pleased with and a lot, which I have seen in previous contenders just before they hit their straps. Lewis has been great for us as was Bernie but the baton started to be passed this season with many of the younger players becoming on field leaders and taking the game by the neck. I expect Lewis will be depth come mid 2019 and when we get the 80-100game mark into our nucleus we will see flexibility in our side, we will have the combative game style but we will see players controlling and taking the sting out of games regularly. The biggest hurdle we face next season is for the player group to not believe in natural progression, if we do we will be caught out. We were the hunted in the Prelim and didn't deal with it. We must work hard from the outset, set standards in workrate, preparation, discipline and hardness. We have the cattle, we have the gamestyle and are so close now but nothing comes easy no matter how good you are
  11. Tom Medhat is Freo next gen academy
  12. It tells you nothing have a look at the natural build of both of them. Totally different Trac was 10kg heavier than De Goey when drafted. He doesn't need to lose any more weight IMO he isn't going to be an endurance athlete. He's at best as HFF with occasional short bursts through the middle.
  13. Freo are home Round 1 so don't be surprised if we get them if the Collingwood request falls through
  14. I think you can add Viney, Melk and Hibberd to the list OD. Certainly not the side we were pre Roos
  15. Demonlanders need to realise if the troll is ignored and not fed it will go away. He or she must have an awfully sad life, trolling supporters pages for attention
  16. Why are Demonlanders continuing to feed the troll. Staggers me
  17. If they get 5 & 18 for Neale I expect the same for Hogan
  18. Agree with your second paragraph which is why I said if the offer is overs you take it. Everybody has a price
  19. Hunt is seriously a very limited footballer. Poor disposal Lack of game sense Poor decision maker Explosive player who needs to wirk on his tank. If you're offered what you consider overs you take it
  20. Pies did their due dilligence on Stevie J and subsequently pulled out of the trade based on the medical 2 years later Premiership and Norm Smith medallist, be nice for the same result
  21. Best of luck Dom, very important player to us when he first came on board. Hope it works out for him at North
  22. Wearing Crimmos number means something special for the Hawks faithful
  23. Beams contract was very much front ended, which is another reason why I think he should stay in Brissy. With regard to Hogan and May if we get May and give up pick 5 but keep pick 11 I'm happy. May will instantly improve our defence and yes Jesse will be missed but whilst it's a year early it is best to cash in now. For those expecting Freo to finish in the bottom 4 next season you just never know. Don't underestimate the massive home ground advantage and if they get a good run with injury they can easily win 10 to 12 games with Hogan B. Grey Hamling Wilson HB. Cerra Pearce S.Hill C. Banfield Fyfe B.Hill HF. Walters Hogan Mundy F. Grey Taberner Lobb R. Darcy, Blackeny, Brayshaw I/C Conca, Langdon, Hughes, Ryan, Ballantine, Sheridan, Cox Etc. Worst case scenario Jesse stays for another year when a lot can change
