  1. Yep, bloody phones and preemptive text
  2. If it guarantees us staying there, I’ll volunteer to do it
  3. Port made the fatal mistake of going in tall against West Coast particular inside forward 50m It has always been something to avoid against them but even more so now when they have good users by foot across the board. You very much need to play only 2 talls a medium and 3 smalls to lock the ball in and apply ground ball pressure against their defence. The above coupled with the lack of man on man at centre clearances set Port up for failure the other night
  4. It’s no longer us in the trade revision gun, it’s the Bombers but like us with the Josh Kelly, May for Pick 6 and trading up for Kossie Picket calls, I still think the Bombers have done ok with Cox and Perkins. Jones has shown a bit so far and it’s only very early days. Very happy to have KP, he has tricks that you just can’t teach
  5. 6. Gawn 5.Langdon 4.Hunt 3. Picket 2. Viney 1. Salem
  6. I remember James Kelly doing it at Kardinya Park around 2012/13
  7. Talk about ruining a drink, only two things go with Jameson, either Ice or a drop of water
  8. My thoughts exactly, like North on Friday they will come hard early. Any midfield with Ward, Coniglio, Kelly, Taranto,Hopper and Greene is going to be up for a fight
  9. Yes I have seen it first hand, previously worked in the Sex Crime area. Whats seen can't be unseen and what's read sometimes has a bigger impact. I became immersed in an investigation that consumed my life more than it should have a few years ago. It impacted me and my family to a point I never thought it would. It was tragic the victims ranged in age from late 30s to late 40s when they came forward and to see the effect it had on their lives and the destruction had a big impact. The offender was a Catholic priest who in the 70s and 80s preyed on vulnerable children and destroyed lives. The actions of the Catholic church we uncovered were deplorable. The bravery of those victims to relive some horrors of their childhood should not be underestimated. The day we knocked on the priest's door was gratifying to look him in the eye and acknowledge we knew what he'd done and they were no longer frightened children, who didn't speak up because they thought they wouldn't be believed. Many of the victims were substance abusers, suffered mental health and were severely effected to a point they will never recover from. The Rod Owen story unfortunately is not isolated
  10. Yes absolutely, don’t turn this into one of your long running 20 post sagas and don’t let facts get in the way of a whisper, which evolved into your statement Was Clarrie unhappy- yes maybe Was he out of contract - No Did any club offer us anything to take Clarrie -,No Do managers put rumours out 12/18 months in advance of contract negotiations- yes all the time Did any club have the required funds to pay for him - North and Hawthorn did but at trade time nobody else did Did any club have the required compensation to get Clarrie from us-No Would we have let him go for unders - No So yes I’m absolutely saying He was never “close” to leaving last summer.
  11. Sure he was, FFS you and others on here fell for player management 101
  12. Started following in 1980 when our jumper was Royal blue, which is why I don't mind our current clash jumper. Seen a few glimpses of promise without getting the job done. In the early years Robbie Flower was my hero, Connolly came on the scene and I thought here we go but injury hit him. Viney snr was tough in and under no backward steps and we had Strawbs, Grinter who never took a backward step. Plenty of potential under Danners but we never had the backline or the ability to [censored] teams down when they got momentum. The current crop is very talented gives me hope 1. T. Viney 2. Flower 3. Schwarter 4. Stynes 5. Clarrie
  13. A player on the coin he’s on should relish the challenge to silence the critics Fatigue will come late, but if we set doubt in early mental fatigue will set in I love our defensive set up inside 50 at the moment with Sparrow, ANB Spargo and Kossie all creating defensive pressure as soon as the ball hits the deck. This creates pressure immediately and prevents teams moving the ball cleanly through transition which gives us opportunities to turn it over and set up behind the ball
  14. Beware the Giants this week, they are absolutely copping it in the media, highlighting their players lack of run and accountability. Line in the sand game for them and we need to be very careful not to drink our own bath water this week and get caught up in a dog fight. Kelly, Hopper and Coniglio will come to play. Great opportunity to get a win and get a 2 game buffer on a few teams and set ourselves up. Big test of maturity and ruthlessness, we are favourites. Need to set the tone early that you’re going to run 2 ways, be hard at every contest and set the self preservation and self doubt in on the Giants
  15. Ive heard differently from both East Freo and Aquinas. Very hard working and driven young man with good skills and decion making. Will watch a bit of him this year in PSA first VIII, my boy is at another PSA school but a bit young for first VIII this season. Woey Snr is one of the new coaches at my boys school so taking a keen interest for several reasons
  16. 6 Clarrie 5 Salem 4 Trac 3. Tomlinson 2. Kossie 1. Nibbler
  17. Great win, think many are underestimating our set up behind the ball, which played a big part in Saints poor disposal. Many times there players had ball in hand and had no free teammates in space, they ran to try and create handball chains but ran into trouble. Gus played his role and we we held our structure well instead of being bees to the honey pot. Spargo is and has always been a smart footballer, Jordan touch of difference, Sparrow does the team thing, smart body position and cool for a young player. Tomlinson works perfectly as the third defender. Lot to like about our ability to get wins and be in control when we we have more improvement in us
  18. 6. May 5. Lever 4. Tmac 3. Tomlinson 2. Spargo 1.Oliver
  19. We beat St Kilda when they could have sewn up a top 8 spot We annihilated Collingwood who finished above us who was the better team
  20. They need to lead in a way that others don't question and follow. No quarter given. Binman mentioned Oliver not doing same basic stuff that I would drag an u/15 for no matter how good he is. If I do it to the best player in the side then nobody is sacred. I love Clarry but if continues to be an issue that's how you make a statement and change culture. It's been done with Stevie J, Nick Del Santo, Montagna, Jeremy Mcgovern, Michael Walters, Heath Shaw and others
  21. Some good signs But it was ours and the Tigers first hit out for the year So to the usual sky is falling suspects it was a practice match when you were commenting "Nothing has changed" rhetoric and to the supreme optimists it was still a practice match in the second half
  22. It's not great but we just have to deal with it. Whoever the 2/3 key talls are the delivery inside 50 and the structure will have more impact on winning games. These outs hurt but if everyone knows their role we will be fine. The ability of players out IMO impacts against the really strong sides, but if all else is in place we should be beating those around us
  23. Thanks track watchers
  24. These things never end well, remember how Andrew Mcleod, Shaun Burgoyne and Joel Selwood all struggled after being diagnosed with degenerative knee issues. They just couldn't get the management right and their careers ended prematurely. ???
  25. and when you promised to leave Demonland forever when Salem got us up over the Bombers after the siren, you should have stuck to it
