  1. Added to ignore list FFS you people who fall for this nonsense every year are either bored or gluttons for punishment
  2. Agree, we stuck with our method for most of the season and no doubt the changes in game plan they tried to implement were to late and show why we need to continually evolve
  3. Jeff White, Ed Langdon thoughts on those moves back home. Referring to Jackson’s decision as poor and soft is I’ll informed. “ I’m a supporter who has a right”is a cop out, it’s like saying I pay my money to get into a game so I can boo whoever I like You have no idea why he’s returning home, he’s given his all to us for 3 seasons and was a massive part of us breaking a 57 year drought. I wish him well and have faith our FD will use whatever compensation we get to improve our list. We applaud Vic players returning home and never refer to them as soft
  4. Inside mid, why obviously our clearances are a deficiency but that’s to be expected with the likes of Oliver, Viney, Trac, Brayshaw and Harmes running through the middle 🤔🤔🤔
  5. Yep it can be a win win for both clubs
  6. Not a good year for me Start 10-0 and finish 16-8 1 debutant Out in straight sets I’m not a doom and gloom type and there are reasons for how it ended, but to me Preliminary final after 10-0 is a pass mark and we failed to achieve that Our season very much mirrored Eagles 2007 season
  7. Salem started really well against Sydney showing what he can do, but his impact diminished once they put Clarke on him as a tagger
  8. Totally agree Old Dee, he’s been really good. As @dazzledavey36 says I’d save whatever we get for Jacko to fill other needs as opposed to giving up a lot to get Grundy
  9. Yep part of it it is also the players having faith in the system and it being second nature
  10. Have a look at Sydney he’s the architect of their ball movement, he had the Crows playing fast high tempo footy off rebound and I saw him at WAFL level do the exact same with the teams he coached
  11. Yep but as I said in other posts, the change has started but we’re not consistent with it and when we’re under pressure we go back to what we know. The footage is there from round 15 onwards and it was evident in the first quarter last night
  12. I hate to break it to you but we ain’t the Hawks of 13-15 , sure what happened them after 08, missed finals Cats of 08 lost 2 games all year, but also had finals heartbreak in 04 and 05 before having a full review after a poor 06 Forget the media these things are bloody hard to win. We had a good run with injuries last year and not as good this year. I recall how good we were in 98 but the old finals system and a Jeff White injury at the wrong time hurt us in before last year was what I thought was our best chance at a flag
  13. If I could have my pick for 1 assistant coach, it’s Don Pyke. What he does with speed of ball movement would be sensational for us
  14. Pete Shanahan lives in Perth now, but he’s from that neck of the woods
  15. Gawn and Jackson are both ruckman Weid would be our 2nd tall and pinch hitter in the ruck JVR would be the third tall. Max couldn’t have played 90%ruck last night and Freo don’t bomb the ball in they come in quick once they play plenty of lateral footy in their back half to spread the oval and get separation from their forwards looking for the 1v1 and when the ball hits the deck they pounce with Walters, Frederick, Switzkowski, the resting mid etc. Lobb and Darcy when resting are the pack braking forwards for Freo, JVR is not ready to do that at AFL level yet
  16. It’s pathetic, look at my responses twice and other responses, with regards to other clubs in finals and our premiership drought it’s a stat which means nothing and if you can’t see that well, you’re beyond help It”s like saying Freo have a better finals record at Optus than Melbourne 1 final - 1 win 3 finals- 2 wins and a premiership
  17. But in their defence, when he eventually leaves the club they can say they were right all along and he wasn’t the right guy🤣🤣🤣
  18. Are you from up that way DD, good mate of mine comes from Corowa, his mum still lives up there
  19. Weird has shown plenty the last couple of games as a ruck forward. Be interested to see him played in that role for the pre season and into next. Just might be his future role at AFL level. Couldn’t play him, Tmac and Brown in the same forward line but you could play him Tmac and JVR who has a lot more mobility and much better below his knees
  20. It wasn’t a smart Alec comment it was intended to strike a nerve and it did. Go and have a good look at yourself and your post it’s seriously one of the most pathetic threads ever. I’m sure St Kilda, GWS, Dogs, Bombers, Carlton, Suns, Freo and North are all patting themselves on the back because they are ahead of us in this stat. I know you’re still dirty you missed being there last year but FFS, take some heart in knowing being slightly underdone or off looks 100 times worse than it actually is The dream for this year is over but we aren’t falling off the cliff
  21. Before anybody says it This is VFL, no matter what JVR does today, it’s no guarantee that he would have brought that to AFL, games quicker, defenders are better and our delivery is not great at AFL level. Dont blow a gasket thinking about what if He will continue to grow and be great for us moving forward
  22. Sometimes you have to rob Peter to pay Paul. We moved Petty forward to take contested grabs or bring the ball to ground. We pushed one up to the back of contested stoppages, which exposed Lever to being accountable. It was real roll the dice stuff, we can point to Petty kicking a goal and creating another but we can’t ignore it creates issues the other way especially to the chaos kick from clearances. The coaches would have been aware of the risks
  23. 6. Petty 5. Trac 4. Langdon 3. Harmes 2. Nibbler 1. Oliver
  24. Learn from it and don’t do it, seriously it’s absolutely cringeworthy (not just directed at you) to read posts clearly made solely based on emotion and frustration
  25. Id add Jackson, Fritta and Kozzie to that list
