  1. Your continued potting of Spargo is embarrassing
  2. Not this year but 2023, Eagles are going to get a beauty in Bailey Banfield. Seen him over a few years show some signs as an outside player, my boy played against Scotch last week and Bailey was in the guts and just dominated the clearances and game. He’s put on some good size, super clean with his hands and made some really good decisions in traffic and looked very poised under heat. His younger brother Sam is the same age as my youngest but their sides have never crossed paths, he has been talked of for a couple of years as very talented and better than his older brother. Think he’s 2025 draft Ashley Mcintosh’s boy Fletcher also played for Scotch, good size, but not much above average on display

I have learnt in my 25+ years in the job, to take stats with a grain of salt. The bosses and lollies use them to support whatever they are trying to push. Online Fraud has been on the up since 2012, Organised Crime well and truly got their tentacles into it
  4. And like every other good sides in the past the players and teams in general are fairly inconsistent until the core group of players hit the 100+ game mark. Many on here said you couldn’t judge Goodwin or the group until the core got to that mark (despite 2018) , the I want it now and I’ve seen it all before brigade brushed them off as accepting mediocrity, ostrich’s with their head in the sand or being apologists for Goodwin. Who’d have thought this game would take a fair bit of getting used to

    Not in Perth it’s not

You would have thought, the public would be in absolute uproar if they knew half of what state Police are being tasked to do and the impact it is having on crime.

Which you would think would result in Borderforce controlling security and monitoring at Airports and Ports, but no it’s state Police. This is stretching already sparse resources to breaking point and impacting capability to actually perform their role

That highlighted part of my post certainly wasn’t directed towards you LH

I get your disappointment, I take you saying “ I’m quite comfortable with a gallant prelim performance and going one step further at the G next year” that you don’t really want them to win it this year Was it in July you were against the finals only being open to those with double vaccination but you as being u/40 weren’t eligible for Pfizer, but when advised you could get AZ, you weren’t sure based on advice from the Feds

I call it as I see it, wanting a boycott by supporters if they imposed vaccination certificate for a GF and you due to age weren’t going to have sufficient time to get the Pfizer vaccine, but you chose not to get the A-Z - that was your choice Wanting the team not to win it this year if YOU can’t get there, in the hope we get back again next year and it’s at the G I have a Dees supporting mate who was born in 65, followed us at the G and across all other grounds through the dark days of the 70s, 80s and through the Neeld years. He wants nothing more than to see a Flag, he’s been fighting a terminal illness for 18 months and is just hanging in there. He’s a fighter and will be lucky to see Christmas let alone next September. So pardon me if I pull you up and calling you out on it being all on your terms

You’re actually selfish and there’s no guarantee you will be able to go next year either. Every response and comment you have made on this topic is about you being able to get to the game and nothing about just wanting what’s best for the team and players you support.

You have heard what South Australia are doing to the returned Olympic Athletes who have done their 14days quarantine in the NT and are now having to do another 14 days. Yep really less onerous

It’s not cynical it’s illogical Mcgowan gets no money for corporate or locals attending. It’s economics and common sense The money from the grand final goes to the AFL, who need to recoup lost revenue. Any border clampdown is to try and prevent COVID getting into the state and the flow on negative impact to the WA economy He doesn’t expect many attendees, that’s not hard to fathom, 7 to 8 day turn around to knowing your team has made the GF and booking flights/obtaining tickets and accommodation. Flights and accomodation will be at a premium as they always are for Grand Finals. That goes without travel restrictions being considered The players have continually said they prefer playing in front of crowds. Cant actually believe supporters are actually saying I’d rather wait for the Dees to win a flag next year at the G, so I can be there. Talk about self centred. Similar things were said last year, when we were travelling well.FCS there are no guarantees with this pandemic. If we can win one this year I’m taking it, whether it be at the G, Gabba, AO or Optus. But I want to see the Dees win it in front of the biggest crowd possible and I’m sure the players would want to win it in front of a full house given the option
  14. I’m of Irish Catholic background and hate them more than I hate Glasgow Rangers
  15. Yes, it was great to see the team live for the first time since 2019
  16. I did Old Dee, had a pleasant night just watching footy with my two boys. They are getting older now and spending quality time with them is becoming a rarity. The oldest has always loved footy and has a great understanding of the game, my younger boy has got into watching footy over the last couple of years, so despite the weather great to spend a night out with them. Neither follow the Dees, but they do when we play West Coast
  17. Training venue is situated on the corner of Bishopgate St and Roberts Rd Lathlain. Polo shirts go with the Chardonnay set who follow the Eagles
  18. 6. Oliver 5. Harmes 4. Nibbler 3. Trac 2. Jackson 1. Brown seriously May, Rivers and Bowey all unlucky to miss
  19. Agree we were in total control Natanui and Yeo were dead on their feet before their little half hour rest. Winning last week and this week in really bizarre circumstances shows a lot of character
  20. I saw him play last season for Aquinas and he just looked okay. 2021 was his draft year, but he injured his knee last year and is only coming back. He’s a big unit, taller than Paddy and could be a late boomer, but don’t see him being like his brother
  21. Another big performance for East Freo Colts in the Port Derby vs South Freo today. 25 disposals and by all accounts battled it out with Josh Cripps( Paddy's brother) for BOG honors

I don’t love him, he’s benefitted from our geographic isolation, which made it very easy for him to adopt this policy. It’s not the easiest of states to get into with only the main arterial roads to worry about. If you want to take your chances coming in the back tracks, you better hope you don’t break down or you have plenty of back up fuel and water. He was an odds on 1 term Premier until Covid

Subiaco Oval is now a school football oval. The stands are all gone and only the old entry gates remain. Optus will be fine if required it’s only week 1 with 4 games where they will spread them across Thursday through Sunday

Wouldn’t be surprised if the AFL are in discussion with McGowan and the WA government for a 4 week finals hub in Perth, the way things are panning out, 7 day quarantine for all 8 teams during the pre finals bye. TV and gate revenue to recoup some lost funds over the last 2 seasons. Still a lot at risk if it gets into WA

I get that, and if everything is equal I want nothing more than to see the boys at the last day in September at the G, but this is a unique beast and be it Optus, Adelaide Oval wherever I want to see the showpiece game in front of a full house and the players able to share the moment with supporters and go through all the emotions that past Premiership players have doing a lap of honour in front of a crowd
