This is laughable and all about emotions. Ffs many were talking up our depth a month ago. A week is a long time in football let alone 6 months. The usual suspects with blanket character assassinations Trolls posing as MFC supporters. Not a lot of tweaking to do half a dozen and we're up and running.

I think Chook is just talking specifics with regard to the Lever situation. The FD will be well aware of the the need for some more outside run and like all clubs needing some run and xfactor will be giving consideration to Gaff Whitfield Mckenna Stringer Mckenzie And others from left field

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

But we wouldn't have been as bad as we were and would have been middle of the road quicker, hence missing out on Trac and Clarrie. I have a view Red that everything in life happens for a reason. Sometimes it takes a long time to see the silver lining/positive Eg:2001 Hawks were a decent side if yhey take Judd who was an instant impact they don't bottom out in 02/03 and commence the full 04 rebuild. Meaning no Roughy Franklin and Lewis -
Gibbs and Dees 2nd Rounder to Crows Lever and Blues 3rd Rounder to Dees Dees 1st & 2nd rounder to Blues Blues use 2 first round picks on Kelly

Under no circumstances MFC consider Motlop.

30 Years Ago: 1987 Elimination Final

Will never forget that day. Turned up as a nervous 15 year old after years of being down trodden and my god were my expectations exceeded. The Tigers talk about their roar. Be tough to beat the roar of the Red and Blue army that day -

Lever will decide where he goes. He doesn't have a contract. North have more bargaining power than both us and Collingwood but it's irrelevant -
The circus act creates that much carnage around stoppages it often clears a direct path for Shuey. They are a better side with him in. They lack polish and pace to be a real gun midfield but still have enough soldiers to run through in Sheed Shuey Hutchings Reddan Yeo & Partington. I'm not saying they will be a flag threat or anything but imo they wont fall to far from finals contention

Yes what do we lack most to finish off our inside grunt
-
I hate them as much as anyone but any forward line with Kennedy in it and if Darling brings the form hes shown in the second half this season is always going to kick a decent score. Nic Nats secind efforts improve them in the middle and they are no slouches down back. I think they are a middle of the road side but throw in the hometown umpiring and they are always going to be close to the 8

IMO Lever is a very good player showing leadership and AA potential based on this season and worth pick 10 with some kind of sweetner Whitfield is worth the same in terms of trade value. But mark my words he will cost a lot more next year. Watch his finals series last season when the heat was really on. His decision making, ball use and running power are A grade. Omac took rapid strides this season and whilst he isn't Lever he's shown plenty of positives for pick 53 early in his career. We have seen the team defence work well this season and fall away as cattle went missing and when lack of pressure around the middle cut up our zone. Will they improve again next year. Yes IMO with or without Lever. Trengove from Port will also improve us greatly What we lack most is a polished outside mid to improve our delivery inside 50. Get the ball in quick, reduce the overuse of handball and make good decisions and see how more effective our forwards are. Even young Wied on a quick lead and not having to go arm in arm due to poor slow delivery would benefit greatly and cause headaches. If it is a choice in using all our currency on Lever or getting Trengove as a FA and using our currency on an outside gun I know what I would prefer -
As Paul Roos would say sometimes after games like last week it's best not to say anything straight away because anger and emotions can cloud your judgement and you may say things you regret. What I did like was not saying it was only 9 points in the end. Liked the statement The ladder doesn't lie and clearly we weren't good enough. No more words needed for me, it's time for action

Out of contract next season and if they keep Kelly Hopper and Kennedy I think Whitfield would be gettable. I'm sure many clubs have already asked the question
-
Meth Coast will want a lot for him. If Whitfields asking price from the Giants is similar than no contest for mine. Whitfield is just about to breakout as Agrade IMO and will be many sides number 1 target in 2018

That team had a red hot crack week in week out. They didn't choose when to turn up

I'd target Whitfield over Kelly based on long term salary cap and probability of getting a deal done in terms of not giving as much away. I personally think Whitfield playing outside of Clarrie and Viney would be huge -
Congratulations Hibbo reward for a great year

Every year being able to budget for 1)Pies Rd 1 with the usual hype leading into Round 1 - Pies home game = 70k+ 2)Anzac Eve against Richmond 75k+ 3)QB depends upon ladder positions but at least 60k with 75+ if both are up and about Don't underestimate what this exposure on the big stage does for sponsors, attraction of players and big game experience A big yes from me

It was KB with Brian Waldron which contradicts what Waldron was saying last week that his mail was that Lever was heading to Collingwood -
History tells us one at least will surprise you. Hawks may lose Hodge and his on field leadership but could also gain a lot more out of seasoned campaigners in Rioli Chip Stratton and Birchall while O'Meara is a wild card. On top of that they were pretty impressive for the second half of the season Dogs - hunger alone and more continuity could see them improve Saints - if they land Kelly to give more hard running along with Steven with Dunstan Ross and Stevens on the inside they will be hard to beat Meth Coast - he is overrated but Nic Nat causes an awful lot of chaos panic and collateral damage around the clearances. They are strong down back and up forward. Home ground advantage sees even an average side generally snagging between 8 and 9 home wins. If we think natural progression of a developing list gets us into finals we are kidding ourselves. Only hard work and becoming ruthless will see us break into the to finals and have influence

I actually don't want words. As the Reverand said in his pre Queens Birthday speech "I'm not interested in what you say. I'm only interested in what you do" I expected us to be vying for a spot in the 8 and we did but I'm not sure based on our recent history how it will burn with them. Being so close last year didn't seem to burn enough. Being down for so long as many of these players have should absolutely burn within. I will wait to see what the players from 2017 still on our list in 2018 actually do to show remorse and desire to atone for what they let slip on Saturday and in other games this season.

Very nervous and been on edge all morning. Whilst we've had many big games since 1987, the anticipation as a 15 year old seeing my boys play in September was unbelievable. Back then it was the most important thing in my life. The 10 year drought we are hoping to end today has me feeling similar even though as a much older and wiser man I know life wont end. Roll on game time Go Dees
