WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Yes Bandicoot I understand that as overall there are more teams in Victoria, but I am just making the point that some of those AFL players only have fitness over the VFL, SANFL & WAFL players. Whilst I thinks it's great Oli performed well in the VFL the biggest plus for me is the fact he has realised very early the sacrifices required to make it at the next level. Full time conditioning staff and dieticians has me looking at him with a great deal of anticipation

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM WEIDEMAN
Looks a nice kick on what I have seen, and the fact he takes contested marks is another plus, especially with him and Hogan in years to come being two headaches for defences. Speaks with the right attitude and seems like he has his head screwed on well. Hoping he has the desire to succeed and we are there with the forward structure being set up for a long period. Welcome aboard the Dee train Sam

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Often Peel and East Perth have 13 or 14 AFL listed players running around in their line ups. And with Port and Adelaide now having stand alones sides I dare say they would often have around 10 to 12 players in their sides. Overall a lot of AFL listed players playing regularly at VFL, WAFL & SANFL level are either young and developing or just depth and you can see the young developers may have great skills an smarts they can get crunched by the bigger bodies whilst the with the AFL depth list cloggers their skills aren't great they get by on their superior fitness. The biggest upside on Oliver for me is yes he looks great on video against kids and he has done well at VFL level, What I like more than anything is the change in body shape over the season and the condition he turned up to the combine in. Speaks volumes of determination and the right attitude. That is in a player and very hard to teach Welcome to the club Oli

Sam Menegola
He was very good in the games I saw him this season and was exceptional in last weeks WAFL grand final. He is not however a walk up start to our team and would be just a depth player. One of many players who are in between levels eg VFL/SANFL/WAFL & AFL

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Mids Mids and more mids, when we struggled this season it was when several of the not up to it players from 2012-13 were getting games again. For the right price I don't mind getting somebody like Melksham in And I am fairly confident the Bombers players will get very limited suspensions from the Wada and pretty sure anything will be backdated. Thier club may well be belted but I think the players will fair okay

Delistings/trades at end of the season
3 out of those 5 would improve us nicely

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Pedersen whilst not a B grader does fill this role well and has been missed he would have been very handy giving Gawn a chop out as he tired during games. Pedersen is only a temporary fix until a better option comes along I think we have other priorities as you say and the good ball deliverers off the backline are a must If we half our turnovers that will immediately equate to more wins

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Hrovat is not a big mid nor does he have fantastic outside run which we need Dont rate Grimley as any better than what we already have, in fact think Pedersen is far better as a Ruck/Forward type Toumpas straight swap for Lynch aint a hope of that happening Suckling when he moves from Hawks will not be anything special without the guns around him, think along the lines of the Malceski scenario

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Wouldn't go anywhere near Lycett, he is playing shocking footy in the WAFL and is very slow Also has off field issues which make him a no go was sent off for a few weeks for a "religous retreat" FMD as if anyone is buying that one

Delistings/trades at end of the season
I really like Myers and think he would be good for our list and the strong midfield we are trying to build long term. The bigger bodied sides and midfields stand up in September when it matters. As others have said his injury history is a concern Zaharakis would be fantastic with his run and carry and a big improve for our midfield Carlisle I really rate as a CHB Those three are good targets at the right price and dependent on the WADA outcome (Obvioulsy Zaharakis is excluded from this)

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Shuey, Gaff, Priddis, Lecras, Wellingham, Selwood, Yeo, Masten, Sheed, Hutchings and Rosa is a pretty decent midfield with good depth in anybodies language. You can tag one or two but when little work gets put into the Masten's and Gaff's because of this Masten accumulates as a conduit and Gaff has the ability to really hurt you. Hawks are devastating because of their versatility and ability to move different combinations into and out of the centre clearances and stoppages at any time during matches Lewis, Hodge, Mitchell, Rioli, Roughead, Burgoyne, Hill, Smith and Shiels. It is soemthing Simpson has taken from his time at the Hawks and developed to good effect and their boys at East Perth play the same way so they step right in if called up. Natanui is a long way from elite doesn't have endurance to take him around the ground to take marks, find space and he doesn't have the footy nous or smarts to find space. He is a good player but certainly not worthy of all the hype or high price tag. He is a freakish athlete who can fill a highlight reel but elite IMO of the ruckman in the AFL he is a fair way behind Goldstein, Mummy, Jacobs, Lobbe and Sandilands and probably on par with Martin. As far as young ruckman go Grundy has a lot more upside than Natanui

The AFL gives out PP'S in case you missed that bit

Delistings/trades at end of the season
I know it is difficult to get it through your head and it has been for the last 3 seasons but we will not be getting a PP FCS what is so difficult about this for you to register

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Could be but Garlett's attitude doesn't affect his training and getting his body prepared

The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan
Don't worry about Freo declining after Pav and Sandi, they are a very professional club and I have seen there WAFL aligned side a few times this season and they have soem good kids coming through and also Nat Fyfe is only just beining his climb as an out and out Superstar. They will always be an attractive proposition to any WA boy wishing to return. As far as I am aware Jesse's parents have moved from Perth to the South West. All we need to worry about is to keep improving, strengthen the bond with the new brigade of Hogan, Brayshaw, Salem, Petracca, Macca, Kemp and others coming through and balance it out with an attractive deal which will keep Hoges with us. One of teh old club stalwarts like Todd Viney could also help out by setting Hoges up with one of their daughters to strengthen his ties to Victoria

But everybody thought it was a great idea at play-lunch

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Went to watch the WA vs Vic Metro game earlier in the year keen to get a closer look at Brayshaw Wright and others but as per my write up it was Petracca who caught my eye. Over the moon that he fell to us. Welcome to the MFC Christian

Dayne Beams
I posted this on the Trengove thread and personal circumstances are slightly different but Clark wanted to return to Perth due to homesickness and a sick relative Beams wants to return to Qld due to a sick father Clark made an 11th hour change of heart due to more money being thrown at him Beams father is still sick nothing has changed AAMI Park and the Westpac Centre are the same distance form Qld The Suns play in Qld but Paul Connors has told them Beams wants to play in Brisbane Brisbane have more money in their salary cap and have offered a large pay increase to Beams Gold Coast do not have as much salary cap room and the offer to Beams would not be as large Beams father lives closer to the Gold Coast then he does to Brisbane and Beams father is still sick, if my father was sick the Pies would trade me because they would already have been told I would sit the year out and spend it with my father as I would forever regret not spending that valuable time with him and I don't care what money they pay me it can't by that valuable time

The 2014 AFL National Draft
I really like Josh for his work rate and attitude, came from the club where my boys play only issue is he is very vanilla, no acceleration and disposal/decision making is average to good and will never be a big bodied mid. There are a lot of Josh Deluca's out there but given his attitude and desire to work hard, could be worth a rookie spot, Deluca is the type of player who does 2 to 3 years on the Sydney list starts playing regular footy and people ask where did they pluck this kid from
