If we were a side that had 25k turn up and make noise today, we very well might have got a W
I couldn't attend (Interstate member). There seemed to be plenty of noise from the crowd while watching on tv.

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
Spargo and Pickett need a tall forward to rove off. The Ben Brown non selection was a mistake in hindsight.

Mornington Peninsula could be our version of Geelong's lifestyle factor
You wont make that mistake again.

I am the complete opposite. Love the GWS song. The goldcoast song is by far the worst with the dockers a close second

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Essendon
And yet... we do! Our best games have come against the top 4 challengers. We have been really unconvincing agaisnt the rest yet keep winning ugly. This was a really ugly game. I usually look forward to the replay, but i wont be watching this one again. I doubt i will watch the highlights more than once.

Really frustrating. We should have buried them by now.

I was thinking during the week that he looks like he has put on a few kgs since we last saw him. He doesn't look like himself at all.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs Essendon
Game day threads are always a head scratcher. Oliver has continued what he started last week at half time. Take the game on, dont be afraid to take risks to generate run. When it doesnt work it looks terrible as he gets caught. But at least he is taking the game on the way the coach wants. I understand that some supporters will attack him for it when it doesnt come off and claim him saviour when it does.

Close. Every four years you need to use at least 2. We used 2 last year so therefore don't need to use on until 2024. https://www.afl.com.au/news/202143/future-trading-given-goahead-but-with-restrictions - Clubs can trade one year in the future only. - Clubs must make at least two first-round selections in each four-year period. If they don't, they will face restrictions from trading any further first-round draft picks. - If a club trades a future first-round selection, it may not trade any other future selection from that same draft. But if a club keeps its future first-round selection, it can trade any of its future selections from other rounds.

Trade Targets
Well... they have terribly handled their salary cap and jettisoned good players in their prime and apparently may need to do so again. They have an old playing list with most of their better players 27 years old with a heap of others over 30. Their coach just quit. The board are infighting with a large spill on the cards. He is 24 and probably doesn't want to play his prime in a rebuilding side.

I seriously rate Maynard. Collingwood would as well. He wont be cheap. Weid and Brisbane's second rounder would be a steal in my opinion.

Next Generation Academy 2021
The rules will only apply to NGA academy picks. Its a complicated issue. The northern state academys have been in place for ages now and the clubs pump considerable amount of cash into them. This was rightly deemed unfair to the other clubs and therefore the NGA zones were setup to make it fairer. The only thing is that the clubs didnt actually pump money into the zones. Therefore, the Bulldogs picked up the best kid in the draft in JUH just because he happened to live in their zone and have at least one parent who wasn't born in Aus.

Next Generation Academy 2021
If a rival club bid on him with a pick within the top 20 then they will get him. We will have no option to match the bid. If a bid comes between 20-40 then the normal rules apply and we can use points to match (not sure if the discount is still applied). https://www.afl.com.au/news/583170/early-season-blitz-puts-ruckman-on-demons-nga-radar

Next Generation Academy 2021
Since its the bye round I thought some might want to watch the game in question that seems to have elevated Mac into the first round. Mac rucks in the last quarter (starts at 1:52:00) and features heavily due to the number of goals Geelong kick resulting in centre bounces. He is up against Darcy Fort who is 27 years old, 204cm and 99kg.

POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Anyone watch the pies v crows game last week? The way the pies played last week should have told us they were coming for us. Exactly the same. Pressure, win the contest, quick hands or short kick and then a flat kick into a forward. I thought the pies were great. Really disappointing that we didnt see it coming and have the boys fired up to respond early.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Really pathetic effort today. 4 handballs. 1 tackle. That's it.

GAMEDAY: Rd 13 v Collingwood
Collingwood has watched the Adelaide game and perfected the weaknesses exposed. That combined with us being flat have resulted in this. It will be interesting to see what the coaching staff do from here.
