  1. Twoomey is the first to admit that he gets a few wrong. Plus rucks dont usually go early. Even the article I linked to said that their was a Collingwood NGA who would go ealier than Andrew and that the Collingwood player was on the cusp of the top 20. However, I really dont know much. I'm more than willing to take your word for it if you know more mate. The video i posted showed some amazing highlights. Fingers crossed he doesnt get bid on before 20.
  2. To be honest these were my thoughts too. I feel like Calum Twoomy was just padding his article out and really wanted to mention the rule changes. I thinking it was more likely we would pick him up late or as a rookie. I have just had a look at the phantom drafts to get a read on where he was ranked. There were just 2 to look at and both had him ranked at about 13-15. One of the phantom drafts was knightmare who mentioned that Mac had bolted up the board due to his last quarter in the NAB league Academy vs Geelong VFL. I'm currently watching the 4th quarter of this game to have a look and boy it does not disappoint. Macs ruck work is freaking good. Winning multiple taps and clearences against Darcy Fort who is a well built ruck. He looks so skinny though and it looks like he will need to build some endurance. Here is the game. Jump to 1:51:00 for the start of the 4th. Geelong kick a heap of goals so there is a heap of centre square hitouts to watch. The first hitout of thr 4th js worth the effort to watch alone. Write up #28 Mac Andrew (Dandenong Stingrays/VC) One of the steepest risers in this yearโ€™s crop, the Melbourne Next Generation Academy (NGA) prospect proved his true first round potential. He played up either end and gained a good tick for his versatility, but well and truly came to life in the final term with an awesome showing in the ruck โ€“ despite the result being well beyond his side at that point. Andrew caught the eye with phenomenal vertical leaps at each centre bounce, with his first act of the final term a follow-up clearance. He highlighted his marking ability with a nice clunk in front, and showed off some finesse in the ruck with a wonderfully directed hit to the anchoring Jason Horne. Having started forward, the Dandenong Stingrays talent snared the first score of the game with a snap, before displaying clean hands on the move and flying well in his less fruitful move to defence. Demons recruiters will now be sweating on his potential after a string of terrific performances, if they were not already.
  3. Welcome to the club boys. On a side note, there has been reports that Mac Andrew, our NGA player in the draft this year could be bid on before pick 20 which would mean we would not be able to match the bid. 5 clubs picked up pure rucks with 2 more picking up Ruck/Fwds. Hopefully the majority impress which should prevent clubs from taking a punt on a ruck with a top 20 pick.
  4. The three headed monster? Bruce, Naughton and English? Lol. This is actually pretty funny. Monster... wow.
  5. This is what i thought too. Greedy by Fritsch who looked desperate to get involved in the game. Cost us badly. As easy as it is to blame the umpires, this moment was a big failure and had a massive impact on the result
  6. Yes. It was. But it would have helped if everyone threw their arms up like ANB. Just shows that we were off our game tonight. Adelaide deserved the win, its just a shame to be decided in such a ****ty way
  7. Nibbler the only one bothering to appeal for the free.
  8. Cmon boys!
  9. They are playing well with their short kicks. We have shown up though.
  10. Great deliverya from Melk
  11. Did you listen to the Real Footy podcast this week? They mentioned that it was anything less than bloody. Apparently most wanted him gone. The early wins cemented it as Bartlett had been gunning for Goodwin big time.

We would have to trade for him. He was a top 5 pick and is worth more than that in a trade. If we were to get him, we would need to give up something that 95% of supporters would not want to give up. Essendon and Blues in the box seat.

I just searched for all posts made by you relating to Shai Bolton and checked the replies. No one disagreed with you. I would be interested in Clark. I just dont know if we could seriously guarantee him much more game time than Geelong. He would come in as depth... albeit with less competition for spots. I am envious of the doggies picking up good paced young outside players like Vandermeer and Lipinski for bugger all.
  14. Yeah, but so do ours. "Whoo Hoo!" Edit: Points to the posters who actually get this.

You would think that GWS would be doing all they can to make him want to move on. That contract is ridiculous. He is just the sort of player we need but he would have to take a big paycut. I enjoy watching Merrett play, but is he really a priority for us? Another inside mid.. granted his outside game is also strong i guess.

I'm enjoying each and every win. I dont think we are the best team, but i dont think its fully clicked for us yet either. What I am really enjoying is that this seems to be it. We look like a team who will have a successful run for a number of years. Sure beats talking to all of you on here about who we are going to take in the draft and how good we will be in 5 years time. Enjoy it!
  17. This is ridiculous. If this is a fine then all head high contact is a fine.

Has anyone noticed that our some of our players are now at that level where they get talked up as superstars no matter what small thing they do?
  19. Me too. I will be watching Harmes with great interest.
  20. I have a bad feeling about this one. Not that I will be upset. After being shizen for so long, I am loving winning, but also know that it will end at some point and that it wont be the end of the world. It's a funny thing football. Richmond beat W.Bulldogs last week and they are the real deal. 1 week later they are smashed by Geelong and know a lot of the commentary is that they will struggle to make finals. We will lose games this year, and when we do, the narrative will be how we cannot be trusted. Sydney match up well against us.

I was listening to ABC radio on the 186 game day in the car. Pre-game all the talk was how we were starting to track ok and looked like we were finally improving. I ran out of reception for the nearly entire game. When i tuned back in, Gerald Whately said "The Demons have lost by 186 points, and the only question is ; do they sack the coach now or later in the week?"
  22. Tom would be the only one on big coin in that group though. Not that I'm worried. I actually think these early contracts might position us well for a crack at a free agent. Hoping we were able to front load.
  23. Its not just draft picks though. They will go into deficit having to pay a huge price for Daicos this year. But they have a list of around 40 players who they have shown they are willing to trade. They will likely be going into a mini rebuild by years end. They will be moving more players on.

Agree AF. I wouldnt be writing them off yet after 1 bad half against a great team. That midfield is still incredible (despite losing Dunkley) and will beat most teams. Their youngsters look good and their support players are good enough. In saying all that... Queanbeyan Demons analysis of their bad players is accurate too.
  25. Yep. Great point. Offer him the contract we will have to offer him at the end of next year. Hopefully he signs it now and we can focus on setting up the rest of the list and for a stab at a free agent.
