GAMEDAY: Rd 13 v Collingwood
Yessssss.... Got our forward pressure zone going which results in a goal. Need to get it in there to give our defenders a chop out. Lever, May and Petty all blowing hard

Magpies pressure pretty good early. They are doing well with the short chip kicking on offense too. We are in for a game

Blues Blues
It won't take much to turn that list around. They will be making a big play for Clarkson IMO. I watched the Carlton v West Coast game and was disgusted by Carltons lack of defensive running. Teagues press conference was amazing. Looked like a man completely out of ideas.

6 Dees in AFL.com.au Mid Year All Australian Team
As mentioned, Langdon should be at least on the bench. Gripes; 1) Too many inside mids: im ok with both Parish and Petracca being named at HFF, but not if the bench has Wines and Lyons. Way too many inside players. 2) Too many tall defenders: May, Weitering, Lever, Stewart, Harris-Andrews. Pick 3. Who locks down on the small forward? 3) Lack of runners: Too many talls and inside players on the bench. Langdon would help. 4) Coach/Captain: Clearly Goodwin and Gawn. Name them now to give them the recognition. Edit: Gawn has been named captain. My bad.

Welcome back to Demonland: Tayla Harris
Super happy. I was gutted she went to Brisbane instead of us as a marquee player at the start of the comp. Better late than never.

TEAMS: Rd 12 vs Brisbane
Right... not sure why i am bothering here, but... An AFL player is always going to remember their debut game. It's a big deal. You would know no matter what that you were good enough to get to the highest level. Your family would be present at the game... they would be so proud. Likely all your friends too... close or otherwise. If you are the medical sub you might not actually get a game. All that build up and emotion for nothing... do you do it all again next week? Maybe... but it doesnt have the same feeling. If you do come on... it means a teammate is injured which is a negative. The player might not get much game time. They might not even get a kick. This would be disastrous for a young player. Plus... do you really want the sub to be a kid sitting on the bench full of nerves, unsure if he is going to come on? No. You dont. Clubs dont do this. I would be amazed if they named him. In no way am I saying he doesnt deserve a game.

Really? Thought he had been injured in the twos for some reason. Baker the sub for me. It would be poor form to be the sub in your debut.

What they are saying down at Vulture Street
I have to admit... I havent gotten the hit I usually receive when opening these threads so have gone looking myself. There really isnt too much to add so far though... The Lions supporters all seem pretty level headed and just post about their own team. Here's the only other one I found worth posting. Really looking forward to this game, hopefully a good spectacle for the game itself. On paper we seem to matchup really well against each other. I’d give the Dees the edge in the Midfield with their star power of Gawn, Oliver and Petrecca. However we’re not lacking with McCluggage continued development this year, Lyons getting more appreciation in Neales absence, and Zorko finding his great form of years past. Hopefully our rotational midfielders help close that gap. Im not overly concerned as I think this group will have enough impact to at-least give us a chance at winning. On the defensive side of things, as mentioned Fritsch has done the majority of the damage for them, Starce has to get the job. He’s crafty at drawing free kicks and generally making the most of his opportunities. McDonalds lead up style can give Harris troubles, I think Adam’s is the best match up there, with Harris taking Weideman. With Kossies speed, really only leave Madden as the potential match up. Lester could be a very important inclusion, otherwise we will be stretched for height with Jackson. To me, our forward line has become our biggest asset of late, and could be the deciding factor, however with Lever and May their supporters should be equally confident. The Trio of Daniher, Hipwood and McStay has really stretched defenses lately, McStay involvement has been delightful for all supporters. Fully expect one of these players to sacrifice their game to curb Levers output. Charlie’s form of late has been absolutely top notch, they’ve previously played May on Charlie, who generally done a great job. I don’t think they’ll be afforded that Luxury this time, as our height will be a real worry, fully expect another big game from Charlie.

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021
Twoomey is the first to admit that he gets a few wrong. Plus rucks dont usually go early. Even the article I linked to said that their was a Collingwood NGA who would go ealier than Andrew and that the Collingwood player was on the cusp of the top 20. However, I really dont know much. I'm more than willing to take your word for it if you know more mate. The video i posted showed some amazing highlights. Fingers crossed he doesnt get bid on before 20.

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021
To be honest these were my thoughts too. I feel like Calum Twoomy was just padding his article out and really wanted to mention the rule changes. I thinking it was more likely we would pick him up late or as a rookie. I have just had a look at the phantom drafts to get a read on where he was ranked. There were just 2 to look at and both had him ranked at about 13-15. One of the phantom drafts was knightmare who mentioned that Mac had bolted up the board due to his last quarter in the NAB league Academy vs Geelong VFL. I'm currently watching the 4th quarter of this game to have a look and boy it does not disappoint. Macs ruck work is freaking good. Winning multiple taps and clearences against Darcy Fort who is a well built ruck. He looks so skinny though and it looks like he will need to build some endurance. Here is the game. Jump to 1:51:00 for the start of the 4th. Geelong kick a heap of goals so there is a heap of centre square hitouts to watch. The first hitout of thr 4th js worth the effort to watch alone. Write up #28 Mac Andrew (Dandenong Stingrays/VC) One of the steepest risers in this year’s crop, the Melbourne Next Generation Academy (NGA) prospect proved his true first round potential. He played up either end and gained a good tick for his versatility, but well and truly came to life in the final term with an awesome showing in the ruck – despite the result being well beyond his side at that point. Andrew caught the eye with phenomenal vertical leaps at each centre bounce, with his first act of the final term a follow-up clearance. He highlighted his marking ability with a nice clunk in front, and showed off some finesse in the ruck with a wonderfully directed hit to the anchoring Jason Horne. Having started forward, the Dandenong Stingrays talent snared the first score of the game with a snap, before displaying clean hands on the move and flying well in his less fruitful move to defence. Demons recruiters will now be sweating on his potential after a string of terrific performances, if they were not already.

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021
Welcome to the club boys. On a side note, there has been reports that Mac Andrew, our NGA player in the draft this year could be bid on before pick 20 which would mean we would not be able to match the bid. 5 clubs picked up pure rucks with 2 more picking up Ruck/Fwds. Hopefully the majority impress which should prevent clubs from taking a punt on a ruck with a top 20 pick.
