  1. I would agree to that quickly.
  2. He hasn't signed yet. We are still in rumour mode. The thread continues.
  3. I thought the same thing myself today. I don't think it's a brutal theory. I think it's plausible. Then a few hours later a poster who has proven to have a good track record tells us that Judd is about to re sign. Too many assumptions for occams razor, so leaning more towards confirmation bias at this stage.
  4. It's not dead in the water. It's a recommendation from the Tasmanian planning commission who do not make the decision. The outcome is not a shock at all. It does give parliamentary members a solid reason to vote no that they can hang their hat on without commiting political suicide. That's about it. I doubt there would be anyone in Tasmanian parliament who would change their vote based on it. Their minds would have been made up by now.
  5. BAMF replied to Redleg's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not true. Stories quickly leaked out of the club about Christians motivations and players opinions about his commitment.
  6. The coaching landscape is pretty grim these days. Rumors were we were struggling to find anyone last year when we brought in Basset and Jones. I'm more hoping that he does have mates rather than expecting him to at this stage.
  7. It's because he genuinely seems to believe 100% of the [censored] he says even though everyone including himself knows it's always partially fabricated for clicks
  8. I just listened to the Real Footy Podcast. 33:30 mark if you are interested. Unfortunately Sam McClure was on in place of Micheal Gleason so it was a Caro/McClure horrorshow. McClure : "have they given the job to the second choice?" Wilson : "yep." Caro goes on to say that NB seriously considered not going through the process but felt compelled to do so, he was told by friends to be wary of melbounre and seriously wasn't prepared to give up tas. She said that the Demons got the best person who wanted the job. She thought the selection committee was unusual. Jobe Watson being under qualified due to not being involved in a similar process before and not having an inside knowledge of the demons. Frank Ponissi was also apparently an odd choice despite being highly respected. McClure implied that Skipworth pulled out because he thought the panels mind was made up early but said he didn't know for sure. When McClure brings up the next topic about the AFL chair commission position Caro says "speaking about messes." Jack Niall as always was great and tried to insert some common sense to the conversation.
  9. Farewell Nathan. I have no idea what you have done for the club because all our media team got out there was your introduction video but I'm sure your intentions were great and thankyou for returning to this great club. Bassett (defence), Williams (development), Radford (midfield) and potentially Chaplin (forwards) all gone/going and a new strategy boss role being made. Nathan Jones, Allan Richardson seem to be the last ones standing? I hope King has a lot of mates.
  10. We are just members/supporters. Everyone wants us to employ the best candidate. We aren't involved in the interview process, all we have to gauge our opinion on is what we observe from the outside. Buckley was an amazing player. Buckley seemed like a good couch who didn't quite make it. Buckley has been in the media since and therefore we have greater exposure. People want Buckley because it's a known brand. Dee Spencer doesn't want us to fall for the advertisement. He's right but also wrong because he doesn't know if Buckley is the right or wrong decision anymore than anyone else on here. What we can probably agree on is that we all want the best option for the role. I appreciate the conversation and topic as isn't that what we are here to do?
  11. I'm all for draft picks but I want the draft picks to compliment our next push for a flag which Rivers and McVee are a part of.
  12. "That sounds like the wide world of sports tune. The guys in the office are going to love this"
  13. I don't have much of an understanding of these appointments. I remember years ago when these 'director of coaching' roles started popping up and I thought that was Richardsons role, to sit above the coaches and provide guidance and report to the CEO. How is this new role different? Does Richardson now have more or less responsibilities or has it just that the focus shifted?
  14. So what's the story here? Brad Green said he would stop being president at the end of the season and now it's going to be December?
  15. We need to appeal. I don't care if May misses another few weeks. We need to appeal for the sake of the game. You can't let that become the normal sentence for a normal football action. I doubt many would argue if he received 1 week. 2 weeks would be harsh justice. Tom Lynch got 5 weeks for an intentional punch to an opponent's head. How the [censored] is this 3?
  16. Yeah ok. I appreciate that the chart can be the starting point for a more detailed conversation. At the start of the season I had us finishing 7th in the ladder with hopefully a wet sail. Ah Steven! Please tell us the story about your brother telling our recruiters to draft Hannebury instead of Strauss again.
  17. All that chart shows is that we have had some good games against some teams in the top 8. Good victories over Brisbane and Freo. Very close losses against Collingwood and Giants which we should have won. That's it really. Even if we had won those games we would still be outside the eight. The real question from here is: can this talented list turn it around next season.
  18. This comment took me by surprise as he seems a big guy. How tall is tall enough these days? He's listed at 194cm While I would prefer we had at least one key forward who is 196cm or taller (Ideally another who is close to 200cm who can pinch hit ruck). I think 194cm is tall enough to make it. A few players for comparison Harry McKay 204cm Tom Lynch 199cm Lance Franklin 199cm Nick Larkey 198cm Joel Amartey 197cm Tom Hawkins 197cm Harrison Perry 197cm Jesse Hogan 195cm Aaron Cadman 195cm Josh Tracey 195cm Matthew Jefferson 195cm Tex Walker 194cm Charlie Curnow 194cm Jacob Van rooyen 193cm Nate Caddy 193cm Darcy Fogarty 192cm Jack Darling 191cm Jake Waterman 191cm
  19. I started reading this thread without knowing the Casey game was happening. I thought that Lurker had got a miraculous call up to the senior team.
  20. An absolute disgrace. I was already livid at him for screaming at a first year player in Lindsey after that 50m penalty and then he has a go at the greatest ruckman of all time for a bad kick in the last 30 seconds. He can go and get [censored]. Lindsey dropped his head after that spray and continued to make mistakes. As if he needed an over the top verbal spray from a senior 'leader' player.
  21. We are going to need money for Caulfield. If we don't get a new home base soon we will be left very far behind. Unfortunately, we need the money.
  22. Deleted. Couldn't be bothered
  23. Oh good. I thought I would have to re-watch the game and focus on him. I thought it was a very good game from Salem. Glad I'm not the only one.
  24. The Scott Thompson trade still hurts. Young gun who was on the verge of becoming a great player. He got injured mid year and didn't play again for us before we traded him for pick 14. I remember discussing with other Demonland posters that we had got massive unders. We knew he was worth way more than that. We on traded pick 14 to the cats for Brent Moloney who needed draft capital to send to Richmond for Brad Ottens. Richmond picked up Danny Meyers who played 26 games.
