I knew once Craig Cameron left we would be screwed!

who's going to struggle the most with the draft concessions?
BAMF replied to hillie's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well put Dappa. Its something that ive been thinking about as well. 2010 will be the year that we finish about 10th or 11th. The GC17 make the posibility of getting a Selwood or a Rioli out of the draft that much more unlikely. Luckily we will have most of our rebuild done. The teams who suffer the most will be the teams who finish 15th and 16th. Everytime time i think the kangas will slide they surprise me. I reakon Brisbane will be starting a rebuild in 2010. Port will continue down hill for awhile yet. Infact, I reakon Port will be our biggest challange for winning the spoon this year. -
Wow. I really thought that they would have given it to Bruce. I really thought that McDonald would be facing a lot less game time this year. Maybe they are setting it up for Brock to take the reigns next year when the majority of the rebuild is done?

Jurrah looks more like a marathon runner than a footy player. everyone looks so young!
-
What a bummer, I was looking forward to watching him. Guess ill just have to wait a bit longer. Speaking of injured ruckmen, Robbie Warnock has a problem with his ankle and will be sidelined for 2 months as well (from AFL.com)
-
Give him a break? a break from what? he only joined the club a few weeks ago. What on earth are people saying?
-
I can see it from Chris' point of view. He was told that the Match Committee wasn't sold on him, got offered for trade during trade week and then was offered a one year deal. Carllton then offered him a better deal and he took it. Good luck to him at his new club. Strauss would have taken his position anyway.

Blease & Strauss are CRITICAL to the Club's improvement
BAMF replied to Cranky Franky's topic in Melbourne Demons
He started out as the third tall forward when he came on in 06. You have a point with the Danihers changing of position, unfortunatley he never had a knack for training talls. Dont get me wrong, I think Dunn had a good year. But I would be surprised if anyone wasn't disapointed that our round 1 KPP pick had 4 years development and turned out to be a tagger. I know talls take longer to develop, but its been 4 years now. The time has come for Bate, Dunn and Newton all to stand up. -

I like Dunn too, but your a bit biased towards him freak. He was drafted as a forward, trained as a forward, has played as a forward, and he hasn't cut it. We have been screaming out for KPP forwards and yet Dunn cant get a game there. Why? If it wasn't for his massive engine he probably wouldn't be getting a game as a tagger either. As it is. He's doing a good job tagging. Will want to get some more possesions himself though. Hopefully he will still make advantage of his size. -
It aint so. here's a link from awhile ago. A little bit of it is out of date. http://forums.demonland.com/index.php?show...layer+contracts

YAWN....... '20 year old jumps on car.' How is this news worthy? Almost as good as last years. 'Footy player does a burn out.'
-
I just read it again. You want to organise a group of MCC members to try and vote out members of the MCC board who are not giving the Demons full support. The MCC board who just doubled their financial support from $500,000 to $1,000,000. Really smart.
-
They just threw us a big lifeline and saved the club. What more do you want them to do?
-
This doesn't sound like good news at all. In fact, this sounds like it could be the end.

Jurrah- get ready for something special
BAMF replied to premiershipvigil's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm with you there Nasher, although I'm more concerned with Bennell and Jetta. If they want to go home they can go to WCE/Freo. If Jurrah wants to go home he will have to give up the game at elite level. And judging by the reports, he's pretty determined to make it. -
Bigpond always redirects me to some Aussie Footy site that never works for me, any one else get this? In any case, i found this just uploaded to youtube, im guessing its the same as the bigpond highlights? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=j6lIbKl2kSM

Just watched the Youtube highlights of him. 3 kicks do not hit a target. 1st one he has two players bearing down, 2nd Blazes away into the forward line and 3rd is a mongrel kick that doesnt leave his boot well. Every other kick hits its target perfectly and are good decisions. Good disposals with his handballs too. Im starting to like this kid.

I agree with you. And i felt like writing a post very similar to yours, But you could turn it around so easily. I could see in a couple of years an article being written saying. Melbourne recruiters have messed it all up by recruiting Casey Sibasado, a player with the wrong attitude and no fitness, and have passed on Jordie McKenzie, a player who shows great endurance and a good attitude. No one will know for a couple of years what the right choice was.

Alpha, Big thanks once again. Really is appreciated. Strange that when mentioning kpp, Bruce doesnt mention Newton, who has been training to be Neitz replacement since the day he was drafted. Maybe he doesn't think he's a long term option?
-
Its not as stupid as it sounds. Could have a small problem in his hamstring, hip or neck, which could all cause tightness in the back. Still doesn't sound good though. Petterd is a concern. hope he can get on the park a bit this year.

PSD 1 Melbourne 2 Port Adelaide Josh Carr (Fremantle) 3 Essendon 4 Carlton Chris Johnson (Melbourne) 5 Brisbane Nick Davis (Sydney) 6 Richmond Who would pick him up? No way would Matthew Knights take up a 31 year old. I would have thought that Carlton would have been the most likely type, but they will be taking C.J Do you think that Richmond think they are close enough to take a chance?
-
Same here! Its not like we are going to lose him as a player! He will still be there! Shanes spot on the team in 2009 depend on how long Moloney can stay on the park.

Watts and Riewoldt - a bit of history repeating? from WWOS
BAMF replied to casey scorp's topic in Melbourne Demons
Don't get me wrong, I like the article. and your probably right, he probalby did ask for permision to write it. As for saying he was showing off, Its not written in a bitter way at all. Jack slowly puts on his runners, purposely ties the laces, strolls over and effortlessly flicks up a basketball off the back of his leg and into his expectant hands whilst looking straight ahead. Nick looks away - not allowing Jack to know he saw it - as if to say, ‘Let’s see how you go with the oval ball’. Jack glances across to see if his trick was observed.
