The personal remarks are un-needed. However, even if it appears in a Real Footy article doesn't change the fact that re-drafting C.J is a really, really, really stupid idea. Chris Connolly is a joker, everyone knows it. Yeah maybe its true, that re-drafting C.J might have been shortly discussed. But I reakon that the reporter has taken one silly thing that Chris Connolly has said and run with it. Read between the lines.

Rockliff was invited to train with Port. Turned it down apparently. Theres a rumour that Chocco Williams gave him some criticism about not getting a good test result in the 3k run at draft camp, Rockliff then cried. (Bigfoory Rumour, so probably full of sh!t)

Watts and Riewoldt - a bit of history repeating? from WWOS
BAMF replied to casey scorp's topic in Melbourne Demons
ok, ive been having a think about this. How would you feel if you were Jack Watts? You head around to your mates house on a weekend, jump in the pool, play a bit of b'ball, kick a footy around a bit. you know all the sort of things that you do when you go to your mates. A couple of days later, your mates dad has written all about in a news article, saying how you were trying to show off to Nick Riewoldt. I would be pretty [censored] off. -
the first post gets attacked because there are alot of other threads regarding this issue that it could have been posted in. And to say that Brock doesn't lead by example? well everyone is entilted to there opinion, but mine is very different.

Watts and Riewoldt - a bit of history repeating? from WWOS
BAMF replied to casey scorp's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jack picks up the kids’ footy and starts pumping left foot precision passes to his mate Will. I contemplate how many young guys would have the confidence to start with non-preferred kicks in front of a current superstar and former coach. Good sign - I like that. Love it! -
Thanks Alpha! im in the U.K at the moment and have pretty much no chance of finding out about this stuff. Without people like you it would be a very boring off-season for myself! cheers.

This time last year there was an article saying he had put on 8kg since joining the club. I bet he has put on alot more since then. He's a defender. KPP. In two years time he will be forcing Warnock out of the side.

"It is interesting that Melbourne did that, perhaps lacking a little bit of funds to relocate kids, but that is what they chose to do and we move on." I dont understand this quote. can someone explain it in more detail for me. Why would we pick up WA kids if we were lacking funds to relocate? I find it interesting how anyone can have done 'better' than anyone a couple of days after the draft. Surely it takes a couple of years to reach a sure verdict. Everything now is based on potential. I remeber a couple of years ago when Richmond had drafted 'better' because Hawthorn were stupid enough to overlook Tambling and took Roughead.

Sibosado - Possible Pre-Season #1 Draft Pick from 2008
BAMF replied to Tex's topic in Melbourne Demons
That footage of him is amazing. He seems so poised. Like everything he did was so effortless. Personally I was shocked that we didnt pick up another tall in a draft where there were heaps of good tall prospects. If we go shorter again in the PSD there are going to be so many young players competing for the same positions. You would think surely we would be going tall. Yet why didn't we just pick him up in the National Draft? Im a gambling man myself, I would have loved to have gotten Swift. And would love to take a punt on this Sibosado kid who looks the goods. Bailey seems to be going for the safer options, which, regarding the situation the club is in, is the right choice. I think we will probably be getting Shane Tregear who is already training with the club instead. -
Matthew Deboer

Never heard of him. Ash Smith was taken after him. Personally i never rated Smith. He was super, super quick, but from what i saw, disposal was shocking. Going to look forward to seeing him in action to seems like we are going with players who are quick with good disposal!

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=e7DTWnqlg8E http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GWVXBOSG1BM http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzyYI05stnA http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzyYI05stnA http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ3T15zcwgE http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Kbuj3vt3gys Theres a lot of this kid on you tube! anyone who knows about the draft knows about this kid. Jeez his is skinny though! Burgos phantom draft pick info: 13 – ST KILDA – SAM BLEASE Eastern Ranges, VIC, Small/medium midfielder, February 19, 1991, 183.7cm, 70.3kg (Draft range: 7-18) Yarran would be snapped up in a second if he fell through to St Kilda at No.13, with Sidebottom and Trengove also in contention. More likely prospects are Blease, Tom Lynch and Roughead. And Blease is the one who has been strongly linked with the Saints all along. Had the Saints decided to pursue Ben Cousins they would have had to take him at No.13, considering the rival Lions had two selections (No.25 and No.41), before St Kilda's next choice.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-j8NhG-O2pM http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y5eAWuHyfE&...feature=related Alot of clubs interested apparently. So. The injection of youth and speed continue throughout the draft.

Looks good. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3WtWm0alJcY http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCfk8EHDDko&...feature=related Love his delivery of the ball to blease and watts! All played for Vic Metro! no go home factor here. To tell you the truth, i was definatley expecting Swift, Shoenmakers or Mckernan with this pick. Shoenmakers - Maybe third tall maybe kpp Swift - Injuries make him a gamble Mckernan - not quite tall enough for ruck, not quite right for kpp Strauss - Smart Choice.

Colin Sylvia is going to finally step up this year. injury free. As for the delistings at the end of next year, its going to be interesting. We have got rid of so many older players now. Most of the youth players have not had time to prove their worth. Yet we will still have to turn over. You would think that Robo would have to put in an absolute stunning season for him to continue in 2010. McDonald will be forced out by upcoming midfielders. Whelan will be very unlucky to have his underated career cut short. Bell is definitley looking down the barrell. Meesen will be missed like a bullet wound to the head. (please someone confirm that we didnt give him a 3 year deal) Bartram will need to step up to avoid this list. Moloney must remain free from major injury. Kyle Cheney and Tom McNamara would be out of contract, but im expecting them to show enough this year to be retained. Some of these will be very hard choices at the end of the year. This is why CJ was only offered the performance based contract.

It was said at the mates of melbourne function that we will not be getting ANY recycled players. 68kg! he must be really skinny! Anyone remeber how much Cam Hunter weighed when he joined?
-
That sounds alot better! I would prefer Swift before Blease though. Interesting to see how highly he rates Zaharakis, I was thinking he might slide to our 35 pick after seeing alot of phantom drafts. I guess it is asking a bit much. Mckernan seems to have dropped off the radar?

Nathan Brown to play with Casey Scorpions next year
BAMF replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
With you 100% Rhino. Brown is a bit of an exception though. Will be good to see him about! -
The reporters are clearly confused now that Yze isn't there to give his annual 'Im training hard to regain form' article
-
Thats defiantley Jamar.

This is a link to the bigfooty phantom draft. http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=515196 While of course it is a phantom draft, But I wouldn't be too surprised if the first round were pretty close to being right. I personally would have thought that Ash Smith would have just slipped out of the top 20. but who knows. I would love to get Swift. Would prefer Mckernan over Shoenmakers. Just out of interest, here is the bigfooty phantom draft for 2007 http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=393244 And here is the real 2007 draft order http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_AFL_Draft

I hope your right! It would mean that someone else would slide to our next two picks! Any news on Liam Shiels? (spelling maybe, sorry) There was a whole thread on him about a month ago saying how we were the only club had registered interest in him. maybe use our 4th rounder on him? Would love it if we picked up a ruckman with our 3rd round. I would love for Roughead to slide that far.

God im a doughnut! I realised while i was at work today what i had posted! I was trying to work out who C.J's direct opponent was against the lions, went to their website and somehow convinced myself he was going to them!
